Lao CAI Star Hotel Reviews

The location was fine in the middle of the town, though we had to walk a few minutes to find restaurants. The biggest disappointment was the buffet breakfast. It only had noodle soup and bread. Most food trays had nothing. The hotel staff said there were only 10 guests so they didn't prepare most breakfast dishes. Some hostels' breakfast could be better than this 4 star hotel. The bathroom had no bathtub which was fine, but the whole place got wet after shower as water leaked from the shower area to the toilet and everywhere. The room smelled quite a bit when we first walked in and the AC system was partially locked so we couldn't change the AC mode. The only positive was the hotel staff was friendly and let us check in early for free.

Checking in process was a hassle, as I booked VIP room, but it registered as a suite. However, staff had good problem solving skills, and one guy offered tea for the trouble. Staff are attentive. Room (suite) is spacious enough for a 4 star. Good selection of drinks provided in the room. One toothpaste was dried out, though. Furniture was old fashioned. Bed was average, pillows not very comfortable. Location was great for entertainment, restaurants, and more. Unfortunately, the suite had poor soundproof design. Hens woke us up at 3am. Could hear pretty much the slightest of noise outside. Overall, decent for the location. Major issue is the soundproof design. Not for light sleepers.

Extremely friendly staff at a great hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. The pool was great, the room was large and comfortable, the breakfast buffet had so many unique and delicious options, and the spa was definitely worth a visit. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Lao Cai for a day or more.

Great hotel at walking distance from the border with China, good restaurant and breakfast. If you want to use the pool consider asking if it is open at the time of your stay, when we arrived it was unfortunately closed. We were looking forward to it and booked here because of the pool, (closed because it was cold season, 25c avergage temp lol, but ok) Other than that perfect.

Good price good location

The hotel facilities were great, where I stayed for a night before going to Sapa for a family trip. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The pool facilities were also not bad.

The overall experience was very satisfactory. The breakfast has a rich variety of choices to meet different tastes. The room is tidy and clean, in good sanitary condition, with comfortable bedding and complete facilities. The service staff is friendly. The hotel offers high value for money and is an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.

It is quite friendly to Chinese people and can speak simple Chinese. I couldn't get a taxi on the last day, and the hotel helped me call a taxi. If you are here for the first time or not in a hurry to go to Sapa, you can stay in this hotel

I always use this hotel when I come to Lao Cai. The facilities are very old, but it has a classy atmosphere and is the best value for money.

Downtown, great breakfast 👍 thoughtful service

It is very close to the Hekou port and has complete facilities. The spareribs and wolfberry soup for breakfast are very delicious. The hotel has karaoke and sauna massage to relieve travel fatigue.

Very good environment. After all, it is a relatively new hotel in this city. It will open in 2022 with a 4-star rating. It is best to choose a hotel with a higher floor. I really recommend choosing this hotel in this city.
