The Podworks Hotel

One star because the staff were nice. Thats it! 1: Place is DIRTY!!! 2: Bed sheet had multiple hairs in it, im bald! 3: Cold water in shower. 4: Bathroom walls had strange stains on. 5: I had to clean the toilet before using! I checked out early due to a family situation, but wouldnt have stayed anyway. 6: Haven't received my deposit back yet, STAY CLEAR terrible "hotel"

Nice little hotel only problem doesn’t look like the staff can make beds, I asked the lady was this made she said yes.. but my bed looked looked like was slept in, I told the reception lady she wasn’t interested either

Arrived here to find my room had been overbooked by the referral site I used. Staff at Podworks could not have been more helpful even though the error was not their fault at all. Very polite, friendly and kind. They ended up offering me an apartment at the Printworks next door, which was great. I can't comment on the rooms at the Podworks as I didn't stay there in the end, but the Printworks was clean and although basic, it was absolutely fine for a short stay and had everything I needed. It's a bit noisy when people come and go but the location is really good and I would stay again

Stayed here for a night whilst we were seeing Busted and would definitely not book again and would not recommend. We paid £90 for the night, so not cheap really (annoyingly, the Travelodge and Premier Inn were similar prices, so I wish we'd booked with them). Upon arrival, staff friendly and helpful and in fairness, the room had been cleaned to some extent (floors had been freshly mopped and the bathroom was clean). Our room had a double and a single - yes, a small room with no window, but wasn't a both for us. Never used the air con, so can't comment on that, but the extractor fan in the bathroom wouldn't turn off, so was a bit of a nightmare during the night. Tea and coffee making stuff (but only decaf!). We spent little time in the room then were out, so when we got back at 12am, I just crawled into bed and went to sleep - unfortunately, I hadn't pulled back the duvet and on closer inspection in the morning, it was stained with blood and other marks. We also only had two towels clean out of six - make up marks, which on checkout the hotel described as "rust" from the cleaners... Clearly, although the room has been cleaned, they just make the beds and refold the towels. The hotel was quite noisy at night - I was woken up a few times - and soundproofing of rooms not good at all. The signal was none existent and the wifi didn't work until the last hour we were there. Overall, really poor stay. Avoid.

I'll start with the duvet cover that was tucked in so we could not see what looked like someone wiped their bum on it. Luckily we don't like a tucked in duvet, so soon discovered that horrible stain, much to our horror and disgust. The mattress had hair on it, and someone chucked what seemed to be a bra and chocolate wrapper under the bed. As if matters were not already worse, a faulty Aircon that would not turn off , and noisy bathroom fan that also wouldn't turn off. All in all , a horrible experience.

Husband and I stayed here for one night, bank holiday Sunday. We were very scared - overthinking what we were about to walk into when looking at the reviews!!! Thankfully pleasantly surprised...we stayed in 209, 2 small flights of stairs/not as dramatic from other reviews. There were no damp smells anywhere, we had a small room but was expecting this anyway. Air con worked perfectly, shower was absolutely fine, sheets were fine. Handful of hangers in open wardrobe and on back of bathroom door. Building was clean. After reading reviews, I called the hotel and asked if I could view my room before checking in, they were more than welcome with this request. If we needed anything, were were told it will be done straight away but we didn't need anything. Only thing I would suggest is having a tea spoon in the room compared the sticks and more sugar to hand but I know if I asked, it would have been provided. Upstairs have a small shop for cold drinks and I could see a coffee machine behind the desk. Pictures were as they were in person, there are no windows but we knew this, mattress was abit firm for me personally but husband was fine. WiFi was not working although followed instructions but lots of options for television. Prime location for town centre - even wearing heels! (Cobbled street), definitely not a dodgy street how some people described!! I wouldn't say rooms are soundproof but there were no issues with noise or neighbours. Jimmy at the desk was great.

I’m not one to complain in hotels all I ask is for basic cleanliness and the pod works did not have that. The room I was given as soon as I walked in had a damp smell, hairs in the bed, hair in the shower, dirty marks in the toilet and a layer of dust on the sink. I told reception and they moved me to another room. Again in the second room hair in the shower and make up marks on the pillows. In the end up I asked for a refund and went home. The rooms are not being cleaned and I honestly would not advise anyone to stay as god knows what you could end up picking up. Very very bad.

Very dirty hotel!! Not clear when booking hotel as some people were staying in the pod works and other in the print works. Rooms were very dirty, went to complain and staff very unhelpful. Would not go back and would definitely not recommend.

This hotel ticked every box for me! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were spot on, so clean! The hotel itself is in a prime location, the perfect place to stay as you can explore the amazing city of Liverpool without having to worry about getting back to a hotel which is some distance away and this one is close by, would 100% recommend! Harry who was working behind the desk was also very kind as he explained the best places to go as you only get so much from websites, much better hearing from a local where the best places to go are!
