Best vacation ever, amazing experience with elephants. We stayed at riverside, its a cute bamboo lodge, my son jumped into the river anytime he wants. We joined the full day jungle tour, our guide Sam was fantastic. He knows the village very well, very fun to hangout with. The elephants are definitely the star over there, my son didn't want to leave in the end of the trip. Highly recommend.

Exceptionally nice stay. The location is very idyllic, quiet and you can really relax and switch off. The highlight are the elephants. The staff is very nice and helpful, the food is delicious and sufficient. Clear recommendation!!! One Life Time Experience

This accommodation cannot be compared with normal hotels. I stayed in the room on the edge of the river. The room was very primitive. There was no air conditioner, no signal, no WiFi, no phone, no towel, toothbrush, slippers, only shower gel, bottled water and an electric fan. The mountain road is really difficult to walk, especially on rainy days. My elephant call that morning was cancelled because the water level was too high for the elephants to come over on a rainy day. The host is not very professional, so I have to take the initiative to ask. The call was cancelled early and no one notified me. I was waiting in the room stupidly because there was no phone in the room, no WiFi, and the mobile phone had no signal in the village room. If you have anything, you have to walk to the reception to ask. Long distances are dirt roads. In fact, it is much more convenient to live in the mountains. But I still think it's worth it. Although not an enjoyable experience. But it's a really special process. I chose to take a bath with an elephant for 1200 baht per person. It was fun. This is an elephant conservation purpose. There will be a chance to go again.

I've written a lot of reviews, but no more 😓😓
The hotel atmosphere is divided into a riverside room and a mountaintop room. There is a distance on both sides, and there are cars to pick up and drop off. The riverside room can encounter elephants during the day.
In contrast, I prefer the quietness of the villa on the top of the mountain. Elephants are there in the morning, and they will come in the evening. Occasionally, people will come at noon, and I will stay for three days. It is beautiful, there are kittens and parrots here. 🦜 Western-style breakfast, you can also try it Thai rice, delicious

The price includes the elephant calling early, that is, there is a very large gecko on the roof at night, and it is not suitable for people who are afraid

My wife and I went for the day yesterday. Our tour guide was Artid and little Brian, his son. The day was as amazing as you can imagine. The experience is well worth the money, but the genuine conversations and time spent with Artid and Brian are what made it so special. If you get Artid, consider yourself blessed. Thank you Artid, until we see each other again!

Staying at Chai Lai Orchid was like a dream. We had a very authentic Thai experience. We stayed for two nights in a Riverside Cabin, which was incredible, right by the river and with lots of nature around. They had shuttles available at all times to take us up to the mountain for the restaurant, which had amazing food and drinks. Be aware that you still need to walk about 5 minutes to get to a car, since the cabins are not accessible by car. We had no problem with that, but keep this in mind if coming with kids (maybe the Mountain View cabins would be more practical on this occasion). Having breakfast in the balcony and feeding the elephants early in the morning was pretty special. We did the Elephant Jungle Expedition with our guide Napa Kun, who was AMAZING. We bathed the elephants, walked through a local tribe village, went bamboo rafting, hiked to an isolated waterfall, and cooked our meal with fire made from bamboo. It was a special experience for sure. The locals are very welcoming and make all the effort to communicate with you. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend coming to visit if you’re ever in Thailand. 10/10 stay and experience.

One of the best experience ever. We booked a private tour, that included a visit to the village, rafting in the river, time to spend with elephants (five just for us two), feeding them, going to the river and taking a bath with one of them, have a trekking in the jungle and eat along the river and waterfalls a special homemade bbq with chicken and mushtooms, pumpkin soup (cooked in bamboo) and rice. Everything was special. Thanks to our amazing guide Napakun!

Unforgettable experience! I cannot stress enough how amazing this day was - Chai Lai Orcid was an incredible place and I'm so glad my friends and I got to go. We did the private day trip, which I definitely recommend. We got two elephants to ourselves for most of the day to feed, walk with, feed more, and then bathe in the river. I could tell how loved and cared for the elephants are and the guides were so helpful and knowledgeable. The lunch was also incredible - so much food and it was delicious! We ended the day by getting to meet a baby elehpant and her momma, and then bamboo rafting and hiking a short treck to a waterfall. 10/10 recommend coming here - if I'm ever back in Thailand I definitely will return

We did the 2 day/1 night tour and had Lon as our guide. This was our favourite thing we did on our trip to Thailand! Lon was very knowledgeable, he taught us and showed us so much. He was very patient with us and we were never in a rush, which was very nice. The temples we visited were incredible and very interesting to learn about them. We then hiked to the waterfall and jungle stay, which was beautiful! Our guide made all our food that day, which was all so delicious, and then in the evening, he taught us how to make mango sticky rice by cooking it in bamboo over the fire. The next day we went to a small local village (where our guide, Lon, was from) and he showed us around and told us all about it. We then did the bamboo rafting, which was another very cool experience! We even saw some elephants. Our last activity was finally getting to see and interact with the elephants, which was just absolutely incredible! We got to feed them and spend some time with them, and then got to go down to the water with 2 of them. It was very nice to see how well the elephants were treated, and that each elephant had their own care taker. This whole experience was a 10/10! I would highly recommend doing the 2 day/1 night tour. You really get to experience so much more! Thank you so much to Chai Lai and Lon!

5 out of 5 If you want an amazing elephant experience this is your place! It is rural and no fancy room but clean comfortable and the interaction with the elephants is next level! Highly recommend to make extra special hire a private photo shoot with the elephants for long lasting memories! The food and drinks at the Cafe were delicious and the elephant happy hour feeding the elephants was so much fun!!🥰🐘

Wonderful experience! I did the overnight package with bamboo rafting and a jungle trek! Definitely a must do experience to see more of Thailand. Bebe was a great tour guide and made sure we were okay during the 2 days. Wonderful meals were served at the home stay with an incredible breakfast served to your room!
