Upon arriving at the hotel, the doorman or the person stationed outside was not very proactive. When our car arrived, he simply stood and watched, waiting for my husband to open the trunk before approaching to help with our bags. There were no smiles or greetings; instead, he plainly asked, "Have luggage, sir?" At the reception, however, the agents were polite, and Ian made the check-in process smooth and efficient.
Entering our room, we found it to be decent but slightly outdated. The bathroom was okay, but we noticed hair on the bed, and the headboard emitted a faint odor that became noticeable while lying down. The air in the room felt somewhat enclosed, which raised doubts about the cleanliness.
The next morning at breakfast, the staff were very friendly, but the food left much to be desired. The pancakes appeared greasy, misshapen, and unappealing, as though prepared by someone inexperienced. While the other food options were alright, the limited variety made the experience less enjoyable, and we ended up eating very little—a shame given the cost.
Overall, while the service helped salvage our stay, the hotel clearly has room for improvement in several areas.
