Riad Catalina

We have just returned from 3 nights at Riad Catalina. Nadia and her team made us most welcome from the minute we arrived. We were greeted and shown through into the beautiful courtyard and given traditional Moroccan tea. The courtyard is a peaceful area and you can only hear the sounds of the birds. We watched the resident tortoises trundle around as some fairly new kittens played nearby. As we arrived early, our room wasn't ready, so we opted to have lunch, which didn't disappoint. After lunch we were shown to our room. It was clean, tidy and well presented. being on the top floor, once the clouds cleared we were able to see the snow capped Atlas mountains. Our room was very comfortable and we loved how traditional Riad Catalina is. I do believe it's dated back to the 18th century. We had breakfast included, which was great and set us up for the morning. The Riad is well located to walking to the Souks & the main square. We walked everwhere, including our trip to Jardin Majorelle. Thank you Nadia and to your team for a wonderful few days. We would definitely come back!

We stayed at Riad Catalina for 4 nights in April 2025 and had such a special time. Couldn’t a fault a thing. The staff were so welcoming, helpful, kind and could not do enough to make sure we were having the best stay possible. The atmosphere was really calm and lovely which was exactly what was needed after spending the days in the souks. We ate dinner at the Riad twice and the food was incredible. Really generous portions, cooked beautifully. Breakfast was included in our stay, which was a perfect mix of traditional and modern options served to our table. Our room was spacious and clean opening onto a veranda that overlooked the courtyard, and we enjoyed the rooftop pool with views towards the Koutoubia mosque. Look forward to coming back one day and will stay here again for sure!

This is a nice riad with a beautiful courtyard, nice roof top and friendly staff. The bedroom was a little small and shower area needed to be painted. The location is good with less than a 10 min walk to the koutobia and Jemma el fena square. Overall this is good value

This is the most charming place in the best location. It is within walking distance of the old town yet hidden away down narrow lanes so there is no traffic noise or fumes. It is very comfortable and the people are so lovely. Very helpful and good humoured. The breakfast is just perfect - very light with fresh bread delivered by a local bakery each day - if you're up early you'll see him arrive with it. We didn't try the evening dinner but definitely will next time. We were there in the colder weather but I am sure that in the summer the central courtyard will be perfect on a hot day with the mature trees and water features. My room was very comfortable and I slept really well. It was kept spotlessly clean. However it was up 30 steep stairs and I wasn't even on the top floor - there is no lift as it is a very old building. Consequently if you are looking for very modern facilities with super deluxe showers etc this is not the place for you. Also there are three gorgeous cats - if you are the type of person would squeal and shoo them off this is also not the place for you. They are well fed and very clean - one was heavily pregnant and she was trying to get in my room each night. I didn't mind at all but do hope that they will have her spayed after the kittens are born. Because vehicles cannot reach the riad you have to walk a short way to the main road to get your taxi back to the airport - however a member of staff helped and made sure we were in the correct vehicle. Riad Catalina gave me not just a room to stay but a HOME! The moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed by the smiles of the staff who are so welcoming and accommodating. I was really captivated by the beauty of the interior. With all the colors, designs, the ambiance, plus the scent of the oranges and lemons, these reminds me that I am really in marrakech. The rooms are really cozy and comfy and it has a great view of the outside. The terraces and pools also give beauty together with the trees that serves as shade while sitting on chair outside. It was really a pristine experience! Worth recommending. Last words! I WILL COMEBACK TO RIAD CATALINA.

This riad was a great choice for our visit to Marrakesh. It’s perfectly located in the center of the city, making it easy to get to the markets and other parts of town just walking. Despite being close to everything, it’s quiet and perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was in a separate building, which we actually preferred since it was a bit closer to the main street. The owner speaks Spanish and French, which was helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and simple. Overall, it was a good, no-stress stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, family-friendly place in Marrakesh, this riad is a solid choice.
