The water of the river flows nearby, and the sound of the water clears your heart. The large communal bath is on the １ floor, the indoor bath and the open-air bath, both of which are equipped with natural stones. The quality of the spring is colorless and odorless salt spring. There is no feeling of slimy, but the body warms up to the core. Dinner • Breakfast is full of content. Dinner is a course meal. Every dish is really delicious because it makes full use of the characteristics of seasonal ingredients. The salt-grilled salmon is salty and very fat and delicious. There was also a cherry blossom for breakfast, but it is tempura, so it seems that the taste is different from the cherry blossom for dinner and eating another river fish. Even if you use the same ingredients, you can realize that if the cooking method changes, the taste changes like magic. The rice was also very delicious. The grains of rice 々 stand and shine is evidence of delicious rice.

A quiet remote inn in Okukurokawa. There are only 8 rooms in the vast land. Because each room has a bath, I don't meet people in the large open-air bath, and I rarely meet people in the hotel. The room is a calm Japanese-style room. The floor I stayed on was on the 2nd floor, but when I opened a door, I went down the stairs to the 1st floor from here and went to the indoor bath. The bathroom is filled with steam and is a hot spring that flows directly from the source. The service is also substantial. Welcome fruit was prepared in the refrigerator. The food is also vegetables from the home vegetable garden and locally produced Japanese beef. The rice is also delicious with locally produced ”Akigeshiki”. It was a satisfying hotel in everything.

First-class accommodation experience! Because the hotel is far away, during 15:00-18:00, the hotel arranges a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off at the station, which is very convenient by car. Passengers staying in the afternoon receive matcha and desserts. The receptionist was very good at appreciating the receptionist's attitude, even if the language was not available, and used the translation app to patiently answer my questions and carefully book a taxi for me to go elsewhere, and book a dinner at the restaurant , which is still open in the evening near the attractions. The hotel is very clean and tidy, so travelers can rest at ease. The facilities and utensils are very complete, with beautiful open-air wind, public internal baths, and private winds with exquisite garden views. During your stay, you can relax completely. The breakfast on the following day was exquisite, rich and delicious. Along with the cooked meal, there is a small pot for diners to make homemade smoked omelettes. The meal is accompanied by delicious desserts, juices and coffee, which is a very complete experience. When leaving, the hotel also arranged a shuttle bus to the station to continue the journey. The clerk who appreciated the reception walked to the car to see off the bus friendlyly, which was deeply received and felt very warm. If there is a chance, I will choose this hotel to stay again next time! 

I've been to Kurokawa Onsen a few times, but this was my first time at Oda Onsen. The indoor bath in the room is available 24 hours a day, so I used the large public bath right after checking in and the next morning. At night, I used the bath in my room. My skin became so smooth and silky. There were a few other inns nearby, but they were all separate buildings. It was quiet and I was able to relax. The staff told me there was nothing nearby, but it was nice and different from the bustling tourist destination of Kurokawa Onsen. We ate in a private room, and enjoyed the kaiseki cuisine. I told them in advance that I don't like raw meat, so they prepared a substitute for Kumamoto's specialty horse meat, which I was very happy with. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance.

Ryokan Sanga is an absolute gem - an authentic, boutique ryokan in the woods along the river. The grounds are gorgeous, with beautiful details everywhere. I was very grateful that Ryokan Sanga accepts solo travellers - as many ryokan don’t, or else they charge you for two. I had a perfect solo travel experience. Here’s what you should know: Access: Ryokan Sanga is ~2km outside of the town centre of Kurokawa Onsen. I didn’t have a car, and I didn’t regret that at all. Ryokan Sanga sent a driver to pick me up from the bus stop, and since I arrived several hours before check-in, he dropped me off in the little town of Kurokawa Onsen and took my bags to the ryokan. He then picked me up before checkin, and when we arrived, my bags were in my room. The ryokan offers free shuttles to town or to other Onsen if you are doing the Nyuto Tegata (Onsen hopping pass). After checkout, they dropped me off in town, and then picked me up with my suitcase later that day and took me to the bus stop. The service was beyond amazing. Room: I booked a Standard room for one night. It had no Onsen and no shower (just a toilet and sink). There was also a closet and a kitchenette area. Ukata, socks and slippers are provided. You can hear the roar of the river and waterfall, which turned out to be perfect white noise for sleeping. Onsen: When I checked in I booked the private outdoor Onsen for the evening and the following morning (no extra charge). Bookings are for 50mins and there are washing facilities, a sink and hairdryer. The outdoor Onsen is beautiful- it is right beside the river with waterfalls (see pics). Meals: I booked the last meal times which were 7pm for dinner and 8:30am for breakfast - the food was amazing; the dinner was one of my most memorable in my travels to Japan. See sample menu. I cannot recommend Ryokan Sanga highly enough!

It is a inn where the feeling that it seems to be a lady general is very polite, and the feeling that the building is also maintained is transmitted, and I wanted to use it even in the accommodation. The parking lot is not available for day trips, so I parked in a nearby joint free parking lot.

We stayed for 2 nights in December 2019. The room has a bath, and the sulfur smell is a source hanging water that seems to be very effective, with the flowers of the fragrance hot water. I entered the hot spring many times during my stay, but my shoulders and back became lighter and I realized the effect. I think it is a great hot water. The room is not large, but the ceiling is high and there is no feeling of pressure. The interior was rural and did not match their hobby, but I was able to spend comfortably. The hot spring was great and the room was comfortable, so the service was outstanding. Overall, I felt that the staff was not working to meet the needs of the guests, and that it was an operation importance to turn efficiently. If guests stay at this inn, they need to match a considerable part of the inn side. I think there is no way to be a lower price range inn, but if you ask for this price, you should provide such services according to the needs of more guests. If you maintain the price now, I think you should increase the number of employees and make a fine service or lower the price if you are a service now. I was worried about the following points. • I arrived 30 minutes before check-in. At that time, check-in was from 15 o'clock, so I was told that I was not given an option and was driven out. I knew later, but there were only three guests on that day, and the cleaning staff said that they were finished until the final inspection of the room by 12 o'clock every day. Then, I was happy to have considerations such as waiting in the lobby at least. • The accommodation procedure is performed by guests. I think it is rare in this price range inn. It's a small thing, but I'm worried. • The explanation of how to use the room was also insufficient. It's dangerous if you don't explain the caution because you use a gas stove. • Dinner is 18:00 or 18:30. There is no other choice. It was too early for us. • The dinner course was delicious with beef from Kumamoto Prefecture. I felt that it was not suitable for the price of 12000 yen per person. The chef was also like one person, and it was an efficiency-oriented menu. • There are already appetizers before you arrive at the table of meals. I was careful not to dust off my jacket. • Breakfast is also a choice of 8:00 or 8:30. The most surprising thing was that I wanted 8:30, but around 8:05, I called to prepare breakfast. Is it coming early? • When I checked out, I asked me to carry two suitcases and shoulder bags, but I was refused because I couldn't carry the bag. • Especially, the male staff who was called the chief was not enthusiastic or I didn't feel the feeling of hospitality to the guests at all.

It is a secret hot water near Kurokawa Onsen. When I stopped at the parking lot, the inn was greeted and guided immediately. There is a semi open-air bath away from all rooms. I stayed in a room called a day of forest, where I can see bamboo forest from the bath. The bath on the room is a small inn, but this is a wide rock bath, and it was the best inn I have ever used. It was also good that the bedroom and toilet was away. The family bath along the river was very hot, so the temperature was considerably lowered by water. The large bath near the mother's house, where the atmosphere stairs were down, was good in the morning and night, and it was three times, but it was rental. The meal was very delicious with morning and evening thoughts. However, it was a pity that the person in charge was a new rice, so there was no explanation of the dish. There was an explanation from the lady general at breakfast. (I think dinner books are required.) Especially rice is excellent. I returned for the first time. I heard the brand to the lady general on the way back. When I returned, I was brought with a different tea bowl and I thought my care was great. Because it was spring festival, I thought it would be ruined if there was a person in a country with a large voice, but I was able to spend very quietly at the dining room. I thought that maybe even the inn was thinking... And the dryer in the room is weak. Amenities are substantial. I was happy that there was cleaning, lotion and cotton swab in the public bath. The phone can't see the email unless you go out. The price is also reasonable compared to a famous inn nearby. During the day, stop by hot springs nearby, and if you stay here, it is the best!

The Yamanami highway runs to Beppu area, and it turns to the left side of Kurokawa Onsen from the intersection with national route 442 where the rest house of Seno is located. Since several years ago, national route 442 has changed to a new road, and it is easy to run with a margin of road width. This inn is ”Ryokan Wakaba”. There seems to be a lot of guests in GoTo travel, and there is no space to stop in the free parking lot, so the key is left at the front desk. The night meal is room meal. When you sit in the seat and look at the drink menu, the drink using ginger seems to be delicious. When Nakai comes, you order ”ginger sweet sake” which is said to be the least alcohol. The dishes are also carried in good procedure. The dishes unique to Kumamoto are delicious, such as frost horse stab and red chicken after Kumamoto miso beef. However, Yakiniku in the room smells on the clothes. Breakfast is usually served in the hall on the first floor, but it is a lunch box in each room to prevent corona virus infection. Rice is cooked with a cherry blossom using shichijo rice, and the side dish is a delicious morning rice called 'rokuhon of kokokugo' and 'miso soup of shichijo rice, tsukitake and Minami Seki fried rice. The inn was friendly and the response was good and the hot spring was pleasant.

Meals and services are as others write. Kurokawa Onsen is ３ degrees. There were some impossible times for the time to put the hot water bill and the time to use it, and it was difficult to use. It's small, so there's no way to do it now, but I'm worried that I feel a disturbing wind just knowing when it was abolished.
