The hotel breakfast is delicious. The restaurant is on the 9th floor and has a large viewing platform where you can enjoy the beautiful Dunhuang. The lobby on the first floor of the hotel also provides yogurt, mineral water and seasonal fruits. The hotel's service details are very attentive. The Dunhuang landmark Rebounding Pipa is right in front of the hotel. It is very close to the Dunhuang Shazhou Night Market. It is only a 5-minute walk away. We got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly.
Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also.
Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area.
The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out.
I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

The location of our accommodation is about nine kilometers away from Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area. We drove there in about ten minutes. We have always been looking forward to the starry sky in the northwest, so we found this starry sky-themed B&B and communicated with it first. The store owner is very good at taking starry sky photos. Sure enough, We were not disappointed. The B&B is located at the foot of Mingsha Mountain. There is very little light pollution and the starry sky photos taken are very beautiful.
The room facilities are also very complete. The air conditioner was turned on half an hour in advance. It was already very cool when we checked in in the afternoon. I would like to give a thumbs up to the housekeeper on the day of check-in. He not only helped us take pictures of the stars, but also shared with us how to take pictures of the stars and adjust the parameters of the mobile phone. It was really useful for a long time.

The housekeeper Youzi provided full service and assistance from check-in to check-out: booking tickets for the Dunhuang show, arranging the time for sightseeing and the shuttle bus between attractions, recommending the extremely reliable Feitian Travel Photography, and chartering a car to Yangguan, Yumenguan, and Yadan. It left me with unforgettable memories! Only a small shortcoming: the hotel's meals are a bit monotonous and the taste needs to be improved.
