The Flushing Meadows Hotel

What an unexpectedly great stay at this hotel - perfect location (we were there for Oktoberfest), great large funky rooms, huge shower, super friendly staff. Check-in and communication with them pre-arrival was simple and clear - not your standard hotel in the sense that they don't have a dedicated check-in desk, but check-in and staff available from morning until late at night. Great cocktail bar with experienced bartenders. Overall, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Munich.

The reviews here all looked very nice, but sadly this was not the experience we had. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice man who welcomed us in, we were offered a bigger room which we gratefully accepted. He explained the bar was closed at 4pm due to staff issues, but would reopened the next day. We didn’t anticipate any issues until we used the room. Later that evening we found there was no soap or shower gel in the bottles, the towel rail was falling off and the bedside lights didn’t work. When coming to close the curtains we realised it didn’t fit the window and the shutter did not work. We had been given a what’s app number but it felt too late to text. The next morning we explained the situation and this was understood and maintenance would look at this. Later that day we were told the shutter did not work (it wasn’t actually there) and one curtain had disappeared but they didn’t know where it had gone - there was no solution just another night of bright lights! The one curtain was actually not all clipped on to the rail and maintenance just left it like this. Breakfast provided was croissants and a coffee and there was 2 coffee capsules and 2 bottles of water provided for our 2 day stay. The next day the bar closed again at 4pm, so we were unable to get a drink, food etc as advertised and again no one was on site. We were looking forward to using the roof terrace as described on your website and we sat outside for a while when we first arrived. The area was pleasant to sit in the sun, but the condition and cleanliness was poor. Having looked back at the management photos you could see the aspirations this has but it did not live up to the value, or expectation of the hotel - this was more like an air b and b room being run from a bar/nightclub. The place lacked care and needed some TLC.

I booked this hotel for a short trip with my Mum and it was ideal for us, the location is great - really nice area with lots of trendy bars & restaurants that we would’ve loved to have tried if we had more time! It’s about a 10/15 minute walk to the centre and two train stops to the main station. The staff were great and kindly took in one of our bags that had been delayed when flying over. We stayed in a standard studio and it was very spacious, high ceilings, heated floors in the bathroom (!!!) and a comfy bed. The complimentary breakfast of croissants, juice and coffee was a nice touch too. I would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends visiting in August.

Trendy loft style hotel in a great location for walking around Munich. Close to all of the main attractions. The staff and is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are unique and very comfortable. I have stayed here several times and it’s always been a great experience.

You walk into this place and immediately feel that it is not run by experienced hoteliers. The whole experience was an endless series of small shortcomings that add up to one big disappointment. It starts with the smell of slightly burned olive oil in the hallways, coming from the kitchen of a pizza place in the same building. It continues with partially broken light bulbs in the room and other broken fixtures, like the hair dryer that made us late for an appointment because the front desk was unresponsive. Room service is sloppy at best, leaving a cleaning glove in the room and bursting into our room before checking out. Would not come back even if they paid me. The only positive thing about this place is its location, many nice bars and shops around.

Genuinely nice experience. That neighborhood is great, there were tons of great restaurants very nearby. The service was super friendly. Relaxed vibe. Our little deck had a great view. Would stay there again I’m a heartbeat…
