Garden Terrace Nagasaki Hotel & Resort

The service staff at the hotel are very friendly. It’s the best place to stay in Fukuoka. I will definitely come back when I bring my parents to play next time. And the night view is super beautiful, it feels like a vacation! It’s really worth remembering!

Very good experience

This is my first stay in several years. The most attractive thing about this hotel is the night view of Nagasaki city. It's not a night view from the top of a mountain, but a night view that you can see up close at eye level. You can enjoy the night view from your room, from the bathroom, while eating in the restaurant, outdoors, and anywhere on the hotel grounds. We made a reservation at a restaurant at the time when the light of day turns to dusk, and then to the time when the view turns to night, and enjoyed dinner while enjoying the night view.

This hotel has everything: a beautiful building designed by Kengo Kuma, a night view of Nagasaki Port including the World Heritage crane, delicious food, and hospitality. It was expanded in 2023 to make the pool larger and add a sauna and gym, making it even more comfortable. I uploaded photos from when I visited in the summer of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. For dinner, I recommend the sushi kaiseki restaurant "Tenku" and the teppanyaki restaurant "Takesai." You can enjoy fresh ingredients made with Nagasaki seafood and Iki beef, and the prices are also reasonable. Both have private rooms, and at Takesai, there is a window in front of you with the griller's space between them, and at Tenku, there is a counter between them, but both private rooms offer a night view. However, the hotel industry is currently short of staff, and there are also few grillers, so even if there are seats, they are not taking reservations at full capacity, so it seems difficult to make a reservation. I made a reservation a year ago, but I think it is impressive that the hotel industry is limiting reservations because they want to make money by packing in as many customers as possible even with a shortage of staff, and they do not want to keep customers waiting at their seats. The night view from the top of Mt. Inasa has been recognized as one of the world's top three new night views, but you can enjoy the night view from your hotel room without going that far, and the view from the pool and lounge is also beautiful. Lounge service seems to be included in all rooms. Drinks in the room refrigerator are free except for the Garden Building. In the lounge, snacks, nuts, chocolate from the Chocolate House at Huis Ten Bosch, cookies from a famous confectionery shop in Nagasaki City, and drinks, including Nagasaki local beer and all alcoholic drinks, are free. Taking them back to your room is prohibited, but I saw many people relaxing in the lounge. I stayed in the Garden Building for the first time during the New Year holidays, and the layout of the room was easy to use and good. I had never stayed in the Garden Building before because there was no lounge access, but although it was not oceanfront, the price was reasonable and I could enjoy the view of Nagasaki Port across the pool. On the first day, I decided to pay an additional fee to have an upgraded New Year's meal in my room for breakfast. I was able to taste ingredients that were not included in the hotel's standard New Year's meal, such as caviar and herring roe. On the second day, I had a regular New Year's meal, but the regular breakfast is a la carte and includes Iki beef steak, so I thought the regular breakfast was better than the standard New Year's meal. The regular breakfast can be chosen from Western and Japanese food, and you can also order yogurt, salad, steak, etc. from the free a la carte menu. Alcohol is also free for breakfast. I stayed in the Tower Suite in the summer, so I ordered room service and ate it on the terrace. The pool view and Nagasaki Port view were the best. The Tower Suite was renovated during the recent renewal and the interior has been renewed, which was also very good. Access from Nagasaki Station is quick once you get in the car, but if you don't want to spend much time at the hotel and want to do various sightseeing every minute, I think it would be a waste to stay here. I think it's for people who want to enjoy their stay slowly. The gym and sauna are new and clean, so I recommend them. There are running machines with YouTube, etc. You can move between your room and the front desk not only when you check in or check out, but also when you call from inside the room, they will come to pick you up in a cart and you can move around in the cart. You can walk quite far without getting on the cart, so I try to walk as much as possible because I end up eating too much if I stay here. You can watch the dragon dance on January 1st, and delicious oshiruko is served at the venue, but there is a limited number of them so be quick. I purchased a discount coupon for the Garden Terrace that I found on their website when I stayed here, but it seems that these coupons are issued irregularly so it's a good idea to check the website from time to time. Nagasaki is undergoing a once-in-a-century transformation and the area in front of the station has changed significantly, but I felt that a hotel overlooking the harbor like this has always been special.

The reviews were pretty good so I went out with high expectations. My mother said, ``I want to see the night view of Nagasaki,'' so I looked around and found this place... I chose. Since I was bringing my elderly mother with me, she was provided with two meals. For dinner, the view of the night view while eating Teppanyaki was very beautiful, and the person cooking the food was very polite, so I felt like it was just like this. For breakfast, I chose the Tai Chazuke, which is limited to 30 servings, but the sashimi was surprisingly dry and I'm sorry, but it wasn't very tasty. I heard that you can order diced steak and a la carte for free when you finish eating, so why didn't you explain that first? It became. The Western food my mother ordered was also strange. Things like being able to drink alcohol for free in the lounge and having free alcohol at breakfast may not be a good deal for people who don't drink much.

Very beautiful hotel with a beautiful view of Nagasaki, unfortunately the service is deplorable! They don't understand English. We asked if they could book us a guide, they talked together for 20 minutes before telling us that they were going to try to book restaurants for us for the evening!! The service during meals is super long. So be careful, if you want to enjoy an average breakfast while struggling to make the waiter understand that you would like some tea, you will need about 50 minutes. They always apologize, unfortunately being kind is not a job. The price is too high for a hotel where there are no hotel professionals.

It's been a while since I posted. My friends, their parents and their children, and my wife and I went to Nagasaki to see the Blue Impulse when the Kitakyushu Shinkansen opened on September 23rd. The city is buzzing with excitement due to its first big event in a while. It was difficult to get a reservation, but I finally managed to secure a garden suite on September 22nd. The hotel... has the subtlety of a designer hotel... Kengo Kuma's early hotels, Beijing's Opposite House and Commune, are delicate and less bold, but are they typical of the commercial archetypes that use Kengo Kuma? I feel like that. One of Kengo Kuma's early works is the bathhouse of Horai, which is now known as Kai. At that time, the annex Villa del Sol was a designer hotel. The service is there. The hospitality and consideration... The most important things, such as the nice hard sofa that someone wrote about, are missing. I wanted to see the Blue Impulse from the hotel on the 23rd if possible, but I couldn't get any answers even after consulting with them (there was a wedding going on, etc.) and I didn't feel comfortable, so I had to take a sightseeing taxi by myself. So I went to Glover Garden on the opposite bank in the rain. (By the way, I was able to see practice at the same location the day before under clear skies!) For reference. I visited the wine bar at 20:00, but was told it was closed. So, I ordered sparkling wine from room service while watching the night view in my room. The staff courteously brought wine and glasses, but there was no wine cooler...I think this says it all. Also, we couldn't go up to the top floor because we didn't know about it beforehand because there was a charge. Lack of public space? He's polite, but doesn't he smile a lot? It may be a stylish and smart hotel for young people, but I miss the three-star hotels in Europe and other places where even the inconveniences are provided with hospitality.

Drinking lady, charge your energy with sparkling wine and red wine in the morning. I was very happy with the two bowls (lol). I also chose the breakfast menu, which was an added bonus. I also had pancakes, so it was a satisfying trip.
