Hakodate-Onuma Prince Hotel Reviews

I was unsure what to expect as the hotel is slightly remote and we did not have a car. Read that there is a shuttle bus but I request twice on the schedule via trip app but received no response 🤨 Had to request a Japanese hotel that we stayed before prince to help us check out the timing of the bus schedule and we also went to travel information counter and finally got the timing. Phew. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. Special shout out to Peter from Canada who is born and raised in Hokkaido. He is such a nice and warm person who offered us lots of advice around Onuma. Prince hotel is very lucky to have a staff like him!! 👍

The room is clean and tidy. The staff service is good and polite. The onsen is really great with good lake view.

The room facilities are average and not big. The breakfast variety and taste are just average. It is still very comfortable to walk around the hotel

The Japanese room is spacious. It's a triple room with two standard beds and one extra bed. It's clean and tidy. The service is friendly. The location is good. You can go shopping right outside. Parking is charged. The hot spring is open until 2 am. Good reviews. Recommended!

My daughter and I took the wrong bus from Shin-Hakodate Hokuto Station and arrived at Hakodate Station before 8pm. As a result, there was no bus to Onuma Park, so we had to take a slow train for 50 minutes to Onuma Station. This is a small station with no taxis, dark lights, and no people. We had to ask the hotel to help us find it, but the hotel told us that they couldn't find it. At this time, the hotel's shuttle bus had already gone off duty. In the end, the hotel sent a bus for the five of us and upgraded our room. Thank you so much. I hope the hotel shuttle bus schedule and public transportation timetable can help you. The hotel has a shuttle bus that picks you up directly from JR Onuma Koen Station. The hotel has a large hinterland and it takes time to walk around. It is very pleasant to walk. There are bicycles available for rent. The location of the restaurant is very good. You can enjoy Komagatake while eating, which is very happy.

The rooms are arranged in the shape of wings with the front desk at the center, and the elevator is only in the middle, and the baths (especially the men's bath) are located far from the center, so depending on the location of the room, you may have to walk around the building. I have to walk quite a bit. However, the room is clean and the bath has a view of the swamp, so it's very comfortable. Many of the restaurants at the end of the day serve Western food, and some are closed for the winter, so I decided to go to the hotel's buffet instead. It's quite expensive at 7,000 yen including a main course, but the food is delicious (although I think it's reasonable considering the price) and you can choose between meat and fish for the main course. The Onuma beef hamburger I chose was typical of Onuma beef, with a strong red flavor and deliciousness. The breakfast menu is very standard and the taste is average, but I think the high point was that the milk was Yamakawa Farm milk. It's reasonable for 20,000 yen for one night and two meals.The facilities were comfortable, so I gave it a slightly better score.

Other hotels provide hot spring clothing in different sizes, but here there is only one size, which is a bit challenging for tall people. The hot spring is very good, and there is a large lake in front of it, which is very open. The breakfast was great, very serious and kind.

I love this hotel. It's a wonderful hotel located in the middle of nature. I stay there every year when I come back to Japan.

The Komagatake corner double-view room is great and highly recommended. The open-air hot spring is also great for watching the snow scenery. There were not many guests checking in that day, so the overall situation was very leisurely and relaxing. For breakfast, you can enjoy hand-made rice balls on the spot. You can also enjoy famous local specialties from all over Hokkaido, such as Genghis Khan barbecue. The extra-priced dinner didn’t feel like the CP value was that high (but the hamburger steak was super delicious!

The staff member who checked me in was very helpful. When I asked for two band-aids, they were considerate and gave me three, so I thought this was a hotel with capable staff.

Big hotel in the middle of nature The view from the room is very beautiful. There is an onsen service. The atmosphere is very good. I recommend it.
