Nantucket Inn ★★★

📍 1 Miller Ln, Nantucket

"The hotel room is quite spacious and the bed is also quite large. Since we were two friends staying there, the space was sufficient."

"My experience at this inn was great. My daughter Erica and I stayed here overnight August 18-19. First off, we didn’t drive in but there is a free shuttle bus downtown that takes you right to the corner, a few feet away from the inn. Now for the inn itself. It was lovely. We had one of the rooms upstairs with a private bathroom. As soon as you walk into the room you see that it looks like it belongs on an island. It’s done up in a seaside motif with cool and calming tones of blue and white with seashells and the like. Next, but most important, was the cleanliness. You could feel and see the clean. I didn’t even feel a desire to whip out my Lysol wipes and sanitizer. The hosts were so thoughtful. They had complimentary ice cold orange juice in the refrigerator for us along with different kinds of snacks and good coffee. Also complimentary. In the hall there is a microwave and even more snacks. At the front entrance there are some other snacks and drinks that you can pay for at a small price using the honesty system. And yet still there is a free bowl of fruit there also. I’ve arrived at hotels starving and unable to get food immediately. That was not a problem here. They also provided toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash. The good stuff. They also had a variety of streaming services and regular tv. They thought of everything. I slept so good here. If I go back to Nantucket this is where I’ll be staying. I highly recommend this place. FYI-I think the shuttle bus is not going to be free starting in 2026. But even if you have to pay it’s a convenient option if you don’t want to drive. There are shuttles that I believe take you to just about anywhere you want to go on the island."

"Anyone coming to Nantucket for a visit should definitely check out the Nantucket Hotel before any other considerations. I can't believe any other hotel could compare. Location, food, room, gym , pool and the employers could not be beat! The meal was amazing (swordfish) and the dessert (carrot cake) was delicious. Fred could not been more professional as well as friendly!"

"We had the most wonderful stay at the Carlisle House! The Sconset suite was beautiful and the perfect place to recharge. Every detail was lovely and the breakfast offerings were plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed the opportunity to rent a Jeep for the duration of our stay. It was a fun way to explore the beaches. I cannot wait for our next trip, we will be sure to return."

The Wauwinet Nantucket Hotels in Nantucket

The Wauwinet Nantucket

"The best part of Wauwinet for us was the kind, attentive staff, both at the front desk and running the shuttle into town. Our cottage was comfortable, beautifully decorated and tidy. A delivery of chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary was delightful and we enjoyed the afternoon port and cheese gathering in the library. Since we were there in the offseason (October) and the weather was particularly blustery, we were unable to enjoy even walking the gorgeous beaches which on another day, would have been a highlight for us. Because the hotel is a 20 to 25 minute shuttle ride into town, I think, particularly in the offseason, we may have been happier closer to the action. My major complaint was the pre-concierge service (which is a terrific idea) highly recommended the in-house restaurant Topper's for our anniversary dinner. They apparently did not know that the usual menu had been discontinued and we were stuck choosing from a glorified lunch menu, a huge disappointment for me on our last night in Nantucket."

The Nantucket Hotel & Resort ★★★★
"We stayed at the Nantucket Hotel & Resort from December 29–31, 2025, and it was one of the most memorable experiences. During our stay, my partner Matt and I got engaged at the hotel, and the entire team went above and beyond to make the proposal incredibly special and seamless. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely excited to help create a once-in-a-lifetime moment for us. A very special thank you to Sarah, Kate, Nicole, Angel, and Sophie, who each played a role in making our stay feel so thoughtful and personal. Kate and Sarah were wonderful in helping capture the moment with photos. Every detail felt intentional, and it was clear that the team truly cared about making this experience meaningful for us. Beyond the proposal itself, the hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and impeccably run. Even during the winter season, it felt warm, welcoming, and festive. The setting, service, and overall atmosphere made it the perfect backdrop for such an important milestone in our lives. We cannot recommend the Nantucket Hotel & Resort highly enough. We will forever associate this place with an incredibly happy moment and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for making our engagement so unforgettable. — Stephen & Matt"

Couple
Life House, Nantucket ★★★★
"This was a strange place. Once we booked our single night stay, we had some questions about using their bikes and whether or not there was a shuttle from the ferry. We sent a couple emails and a text and called. No response. After much digging, my husband located a different number where he could send a text and received a response that there was no shuttle. No response about the bikes. The location is actually within easy walking distance from the ferry. That would have been nice to know as we paid for an Uber. From the outside it is very cute and fits in with all the architecture in the area. The inside is tight. Very tight. You enter through the door and walk into the “reception area” which is crammed with furniture. There was no one in sight so we popped our heads into the kitchen area and found someone to check us in. Fortunately our room was ready despite us arriving prior to the standard check-in time. This was appreciated. We were escorted up to the third floor. Note the stairs are very steep and cramped. We were glad we only had one travel sized piece of luggage. The room was cute but very small with a slanted ceiling on one side. The ceiling made it difficult to access one side of the bed. The air conditioner was very loud but did a good job of keeping the room cool. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also quite small but the shower was an ok size. For the price we paid I would have expected a much larger space. There was no ironing board or iron in the room and no phone in the room by which to request one. My husband went back downstairs to find someone to get such. At our request, when we left for dinner they did remove it from the room for us. We were told when we checked in that there was wine provided from 5 to 7 PM. We opted to take part in that and were offered a red or a white. We opted for a white that turned out to be quite warm and not to our liking. What was confounding was the resort fee. This is hardly a resort. Closer to a B&B without the actual food aspect. We were never quite sure what it covered other than “breakfast.” We went down to the kitchen to have breakfast and were given one croissant each and coffee. That doesn’t qualify as breakfast to me. We were able to leave our bag that morning while we spent some time in town and that was handy but overall we were not impressed with this location. I wouldn’t stay here again."

The Barnacle Inn ★★
"Amazing experience at the Barnacle Inn. Location is walkable. The mini fridge along with the garden patio allow for a nice reprieve for an afternoon drink/snack and a break from the high Nantucket prices. Having gone to Nantucket my whole life the ability to supplement some food and drink can really help offset trip costs. I booked for my girlfriends birthday specifically because she has a chocolate cookie addiction and the Phil makes scratch cookies every afternoon - Did not disappoint: exceptional cookie, We ate far too many. Susie and Phil run the Barnacle with heart and it is evident in everything from the thoughtful breakfast to the cleanliness of the rooms. I’ve stayed at a number of hotels on the island and while the Barnacle may not be the flashiest spot it was my best experience to date. Quintessential Nantucket."

Seven Sea Street Inn ★★★
"AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR RISK LOSING YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. We planned a last-minute 24-hour trip from Martha’s Vineyard to Nantucket and booked a one-night reservation just an hour before our ferry was scheduled to depart. Unfortunately, the ferry was canceled due to weather. When we called the innkeeper to explain the situation, instead of offering a refund for our $800 reservation, he recommended we spend an additional $400 to fly from Martha’s Vineyard to Hyannis—despite dangerous weather—in order to try to catch a ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket. At that point, there were no ferries operating from Martha’s Vineyard, either to Nantucket or Hyannis. The suggestion was unsafe, impractical, and left us out $800 with no support. Save your money!"
