I just happened to book my stay in Lauriston villa, without anyone recommending or reading any reviews. And what a memorable experience it was. Everything is pitch perfect with this property, for someone who enjoys a minimalistic experience. A word of caution, don’t expect a luxury boutique hotel experience here, rather you get the feeling of a home away from home. The location is perfect, very close to the Ooty town, botanical garden, St Stephens Church and legendary eateries such as Shinkow, Moddys, and the Little Earth. The view is an absolute pleasure with nothing to obstruct you in the form of tall buildings and walls. The early mornings and evenings are an absolute joy, just looking at the distant hills or the valley or even the vast expanse of the open sky. I took my morning walks to the botanical garden every day during my stay here. The service is top notch and homely one, and breakfast though limited spread is very fresh and served with lot of warmth, literally and figuratively. Thanks to Mr.Kannan, the Chef and all the support staff who made my stay a memorable one. I am sure to come back to this property again. And lastly, Sir Bala Lingaiah, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and thanks for up keeping the legacy of this place.
