However, while I think it would be nice if the inn would read it, there are two points I would like to improve. When I stayed for the first time, I was delighted to have hot tempura, probably because it was a weekday stay. When I stayed for the second time, it was a Saturday, so when I went to the dining room, the fried food (fried fish on this day) was already on the table, and it was still a little warm, but it was getting cold. . We got to our seats about 5 minutes before the start of the meal, so if we had sat down on time, we would have been cold. This is a scene that unfolds as a matter of course at a common reasonable ryokan. No matter how low the price, I don't think anyone would be happy to eat cold fried food. Even if you don't force yourself to serve fried food, even if it's simmered or cooked in a hot pot, I'd like you to serve hot food warm. There is a microwave that you can use yourself, so you can warm it up a little, but the fish fry had tartar sauce on it, so I just ate it. For breakfast, cold grilled salmon and a bite omelet came out, so I chinned them in the microwave. After all, it was delicious when warmed up. one more. Even if I wanted to stay, there were only smoking rooms available, so I gave up several times. There is also a smoking room on the 1st floor, and an ashtray is installed outside, so please make all rooms non-smoking. In any case, it is my favorite inn, so I would like to stay again.

This hotel is located deep in the mountains. Its name is ”Forest Hotel”. It is three kilometers away from the bottom of the mountain. There are few restaurants nearby, and almost none are open at night. The hotel's own restaurant only offers sukiyaki set meals for reservations, and meals cannot be served without reservations. Later, I found a Chinese restaurant ”Kitaro” eight kilometers away from the hotel. The diligent owner was open almost every day and served food until ten o'clock in the evening. I really need this dining advice when staying at this hotel. The nearby attractions of this hotel are very good. In addition to the historical streets, I recommend the ”Sleeping Bed” and ”Asa Valley”. In terms of natural beauty, it is irreplaceable, but it is a bit primitive. I highly recommend it. Wear sneakers to climb. The hotel itself has a large bath, but it is actually just a large bath and does not have sauna-style equipment. It's not a new hotel, but it's well maintained. All the equipment doesn't look shabby. The rooms are big and it's quite comfortable to stay.

This is a reasonably priced national lodging located on a hill just a stone's throw from the sleeping area. The Kiso region produces high-quality cypress, and the interior of the building has a bright atmosphere, with plenty of cypress used, and the hallways have a pleasant cypress scent. The Western-style rooms have been renovated, so they are simple, but modern, clean, and spacious. Also, the bathroom in the room was new and clean. There is no open-air bath in the large public bath, but it was a clean bath. The water wasn't that hot. I thought it would be better if there was a screen door to let the outside air in. In the washroom area, there was a pearl barley lotion. Cold water is outside the bath. Even though it was a day-use hot spring, not everyone came. Therefore, I was using it alone. It's a luxury. This time it's just the two of us. I was disappointed that I couldn't use the bath in the morning. I've stayed at various hotels and inns, but I think this is probably the first time I've stayed in one where I couldn't use the room in the morning. The explanation was that there were fewer users in the morning, CO2 emission limits, carbon neutrality, etc. However, there was no tea cup in the room, there was a disposable plastic cup, and the three remote controls were covered with plastic covers that could be thrown away immediately, which made me wonder what was wrong with the room. Later, when I looked closely at the fact that the public bath cannot be used in the morning, I noticed that the usage times were listed in a small section on the homepage, but they were not listed on the reservation site. In addition, Toron Onsen is an artificial hot spring made from natural medicinal stones. It is said to have the same effect as a natural hot spring, using the natural ore tron ​​stone, which is only found on the earth. I knew about that, but I heard that I thought it was a natural hot spring. I had no choice but to take a bath in my room in the morning. Although it is a unit bath, the legs are long enough to stretch out. Well, you won't know much about any inn until you visit. We had dinner at the restaurant. When you take your seat, the items are brought to you one by one, but the chawanmushi is piping hot and the tempura is freshly fried. There was also tempura with cheese sandwiched between apples. Other than the lack of sashimi, it was a pretty good dinner at a typical inn. As for the drinks, the local sake Nakanori-san's Dry Nama and 300c of Namazake from the sake brewery Nanawarai that I wanted to visit today were both reasonably priced at 880 yen. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal, and rice, apple juice, and coffee were self-serve. The customer service at this inn, including the restaurant, felt quite businesslike. I don't think I'll visit again because I can't take a bath in the morning.

This is a traditional ryokan. The reception was friendly and professional including tea served in your room upon arrival and an orientation as to the various utilities and yukatas. The room was similar to other ryokans we have visited: large with a low table and two chairs in the centre of the room which are replaced by two comfortable futons put into place while we were at dinner. The difference in this ryokan was a small dressing room with a vanity hidden by a natural beam in the corner of the room as well as four upright chairs in front of a long natural beam table in front of the large picture window. I can understand while some reviewers would see the room as being slightly dated with its dark trim but this is offset by bright halls with their floral carpeting and beautiful stained glass windows. As well, the traditional food was superb - artistically prepared and extremely tasty - with multiple dishes served by our gracious hostess. Given the recent investiture of the new Emperor we had a special menu prepared for Year #1 of Reiwa (the name of the Emperor's era). The onsen was equally excellent, with various pools. A great place to start and end the day. All in all an excellent experience.

Since my child was 1 years old, I decided to travel with 3 family members and stayed there. There was also a kids room for children, and the children were very excited. I was very worried about which dinner to make, but Ogawaya was the first time to use it, so I made it a standard meeting seat, but it was correct. You can eat at the private room banquet hall, and the amount and taste are satisfactory. The dinner attendant was also a foreign national, but it was very polite and very good as the guide. The breakfast buffet was also used after 7:00, so it was not particularly crowded, and the seat was also very relaxing. It was a type with an open-air bath on the balcony, so the stay in the room is also very relaxing and recommended. It was a stay without any inconvenience at all. I like the accompanying people very much and I would like to visit again when I go to Gero.

I'm struggle to put my review in words cause I am amazed by the services offered by the hotel and the staffs. First of all, upon reaching Gero station from Nagoya station using Hida Line, we are thrilled by the surrounding atmosphere and we took our time snapping photos around not knowing that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for all their customers. The driver waited patiently at the exit gate, holding the hotel sign board waiting for all customers to leave the Gero station. This is a real PLUS in our stays. After we checked in, the staff lead us to our rooms and explained to us on the facilities of the hotel and the staff helped to exchange the size of Yukata after studying our heights. Very observant and thoughtful. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel and if you have time, you can visit all of them. You can always put on your Yukata and walk inside the hotel region, including the stunning Japanese garden. Just that, most of the services/shops in the hotel are closed on 9pm JST. Remember to plan properly. The room is very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a small tatami region for you to enjoy your private Japanese tea time. We love the breakfast provided by the hotel as it offered variety of both Japanese and Western breakfast. There is a shuttle bus service (usually once per hour for instance 10am, 11am and 12 noon) to fetch the customers back to Gero station. The staff waved us good bye is another amazing experience provided by Japanese. It is just amazing feeling. Tips: 1. You can purchase the 5Days JR pass and enjoy unlimited ride on some JR trains if you plan to visit Nagoya region and a day trip to Tateyama Alpine Kurobe route. 2. It looks delicate and beautiful, and everything was really delicious ♡ It feels luxurious to be able to have it quietly in a private room. Also, it is worth mentioning that all the staff were nice and kind. There was a lot of attention to detail. For example, when I told the staff about the place I went to today, the proprietress who came to say hello to me at dinner knew it well and said, ”You went there, how was it?” , I handed over my preferences for breakfast the day before to the person in charge the next day (because I was staying for several nights), and asked me, ”Is it okay to have the same rice porridge and tomato juice as yesterday?” I was also surprised that the information was shared so that it was unnecessary. I was very happy to spend a relaxing and enjoyable time with my husband and wife on a reward trip once a year. It is a wonderful inn that you will want to visit again, and it is recommended.
