I had a great stay at Courtyard Ottawa Downtown by Marriott. I arrived a bit late but check in was still superfast. The staff were very courteous and kind. The hotel was clean and love the fragrance smell on the hallway. The room was really big, clean and beds/pillow were soft and comfortable. I can definitely say that their service was excellent. I would stay here again.

Generally speaking, the location of the Youth Hostel is very good. Ottawa is not very concentrated, the highlight is to catch up with the Queen's funeral service.
There are too many Ottawa homeless, and the Youth Hostel is lined up.
The Youth Hostel is very clean, and the younger brother is hygienic. I am also the first time I am mixed with men and women. It is good to sit in a hard sleep. Every day, bed in the morning, wake up late and late, basically no embarrassment.
Impressed was the rainy day after visiting the National Gallery and sitting in the cafe drinking coffee. The years were quiet, and the domestic chickens and dogs jumped, thinking when they would return to normal, couldn't help but cry.

The living room and kitchen are large, with kitchenware and tableware, which is very convenient if you want to cook. There are two Chinese lunch boxes at the Redeau Shopping Center's dining hall food court next to it, suitable for Chinese stomachs. The view outside the window is also good. It takes more than half an hour to walk to the Governor's Mansion, a quarter of an hour to Capitol Hill, not far from various attractions, and there is a loblaws supermarket next to it for 5 minutes. The only downside is that the road is too big at night, a bit noisy
In central Ottawa, we’re located less than a half kilometer from the Rogers Centre and shopping and entertainment at Byward Market and CF Rideau Centre. The University of Ottawa is only 400 meters away. Indoor parking beneath the hotel, several event rooms, a fitness center, indoor pool, and an on-site restaurant and bar complete your stay.

Great hotel. I stayed here with my wife. We really liked the bed. Was very spacious. Room was clean and modern. Really nice blow dryer for my hair and nice modern iron. Television channels were a bit fuzzy. The hotel is sustainable so they don’t give bottled water. They recommend tap water. But I went to the gym for water. Washroom is clean. I like how there’s a nespresso machine in every room. The room can be a bit dark too. Not very much light.

Very good hotel, warm and cozy when you enter, the service is kind and friendly. Both the front desk service and the restaurant service are great! Although there is ”Chinese service” when booking online, there is no Chinese service at the hotel front desk, but it is very convenient to communicate in simple English, no problem at all. The stay experience is great!
It is worth mentioning that the location of the hotel is very good, whether it is walking to various attractions, Rideau Shopping Center, or dining, it is extremely convenient! Highly recommended!

The transportation is very convenient. Line 1 is just a few minutes' walk away. It is in the very city center.
The room is very small and can't fit a suitcase. It is suitable for backpackers. I brought a 28-inch large suitcase and could only leave it outside to unpack.
The toilet and bathroom are shared and are generally clean.
The front desk lady is very nice and will patiently answer and help if you have any questions.

Conveniently located right next to bus stop that will take you to main attractions in the city, luggage drop off before and after check in and check out allowed which makes trip planning much easier. However, breakfast is just a muffin, a small yogurt and a small pack of juice in a takeaway bag which is very disappointing.

Very Good
AAnonymous UserThe room was clean and I liked the facility as well. The room was spacious, which is something I enjoyed. I had a problem with the service though, which I eventually had to call Marriott customer service, but other than that, I liked it.
I was able to walk to the Parliament.
If you are looking for a spacious room, this might be a good choice.
GGuest UserThis is the most comfortable, cleanest, most cost-effective and most comfortable hotel I have lived in Canada for 7 years. Moderate scale, quiet but not remote, it is also a hotel with full parking lot whether it is usually or on weekends. This shows that its occupancy rate is extremely high. I feel that most business people are staying. They are very friendly to pets. There will be many small animals playing downstairs in the evening. I like it very much and recommend it to move across provinces. Parent-child travel, long-term residence of families with pets.
GGuest UserBooked a signature suite for 3 adults and the room was perfect. It was huge and well-equipped. If you needed extra towels or amenities such as shower gel, you could get them from the corridor. There’s also a gym and a laundry room. Breakfast was included, which offered juice, fruits, cereal, and burgers.
GGuest UserIt is a good choice for family travel, the price is not high, we booked a room type with breakfast, double bed room + a sofa bed, the room is clean and tidy, and the overall experience is not bad.
JJudyfanFor my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through the night as the room had little to no sound isolation from the connecting room, in which a baby was crying all night. I am baffled as to how we were able to hear every single noise: coughing and sneezing from the parents in the other room, their toilet flushing and the baby crying throughout the entire night. We were unable to sleep comfortably and woke up with splitting headaches. I booked this hotel to be the closest possible to the Rideau Canal Skateway, but I will have to find another hotel the next time.
AAlex DouvilleWe had 2 fire alarms in 2 days, nobody told us when we’ve made the reservation. Fiest time ppl we’re afraid , we had to go outside… NO STAFF explain nothing to us for too much time. I asked at the front desk and the woman there just ignore me. The other woman that was there didnt either explain I had to asked what’s going on is it a practice or not ? Ppl were actually afraid… She told yeah in the most nonchalant way. Also when we arrived, there was still hair and stuff in the bathroom that I had to remove. Ive check in early I must say but they told it was ok that the room was ready. Clearly it was not 100% clean. Breakfast is very VERY basic. I had to told front desk that coffee was empty… Plus, the first guy that welcome me at the front desk was not sympathetic. If you have the budget to go elsewhere just do it.
AAlicia York-BirdI loved this hotel! A little off the beaten path, but worth it due to good pricing and proximity to Tanger Outlets and the highway.
I've visited twice now and will be sure to book again when needed.
Pros: Rooms are a very decent size, and the hotel just opened recently as of this review, so everything is gleaming clean and new.
The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are lovely.
Cons: The TV could be a little larger, and I'm sad that despite marketing materials to the contrary, we weren't able to connect the TV through my YouTube account as I have been able to do at other hotels, but it was a small disappointment compared to the pros.
My largest concern is how quickly the right-hand elevator door closes without warning; it bashed me a good one as I was walking in , and while I can take it.and brush that off, had that been a small child they could have been seriously hurt. Please get that checked out.
In summary, I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a clean, quiet, recently priced place to stay while visiting Kanata 😁
AAlicia York-BirdI expected more from Glö than I received. I chose Glö as a ”treat” for a couple's getaway, as it was a newer hotel and appeared like it would be snazzier than the usual fare.
Pros: The bathroom was very nice, and the complimentary toiletries are top notch. The rooms are very clean. The mattress was very comfortable and the TV was a decent size.
Cons: The rooms are incredibly small, and while they are nicely furnished, the tiny ”couch” seat was more form than function (i.e. prettier than it was comfortable). The front desk staff seemed very new and clueless on basic hospitality essentials, like how to work the in-room television. It also took ages for a response from front desk on how to work the TV and the issue wasn't even resolved.
I probably will not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone I know, as there are so many hotels to choose from in Kanata that offer better, more knowledgeable service and better pricing.
GGuest UserClean facilities, staff was very friendly and accommodated our request to cancel a booking last minute. The bedroom was small, but warm and clean. The personal hygiene products seemed to be of great quality.
GGuest UserThe hotel and service were great. The check-in receptionist was very friendly, helpful and efficient. I also had an opportunity to meet a couple of the cleaning/service staff in the hall and they were so friendly and nice. These two young guys had a great attitude. It couldn't help but brighten your day. Our room was very clean and modern. Nice furniture and bedding. All in all this was a great pick for our mini vacation in Ottawa.
