magotan2007Let me first vent about Trip.com – all that hard work writing my review, and it just vanished! Had to rewrite the whole thing!
Here's the actual review:
This year, my main reason for visiting was the LUX* Chongzuo Secret Garden, and it certainly didn't disappoint. My whole family loved it and was extremely satisfied!
First off, in terms of both hardware and software, as well as corporate culture, LUX* Chongzuo Secret Garden far surpasses other hotels in Guangxi. It even rivals, or perhaps even exceeds, the Aman Summer Palace and Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing we stayed at a few years ago, not to mention the Naked series.
The service is impeccable. Whether it's the frontline staff or management, their service awareness is incredibly strong, and they clearly take deep pride in their work. Our butler, Peter, was always online and ready to assist with any request (unlike the Banyan Tree we're currently staying at, where the butler is basically never online and we have to call them directly). Peter definitely deserves a huge thumbs up! 👍🏻
LUX* truly allows you to relax and reconnect with nature. This alone makes it better than 99% of other hotels.
As for the downsides, one is that it's quite remote – though that can also be seen as an advantage. Also, it might be a good idea to equip the villa rooms with microwave ovens. Another small issue is that the mosquito nets in the rooms are too long; while they look good, they can get dirty easily and are a tripping hazard for small children.
(Trip.com, I wrote so much in my review, and it just logged me out! Had to rewrite it all.)

ying ~This hidden gem of a resort, nestled amidst the karst mountains of Chongzuo, truly lives up to its reputation as the perfect place to unwind and relax! The entire hotel occupies its own hilltop, offering complete privacy, peace, and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms feature massive floor-to-ceiling windows, and with a single push of a button on the electric curtains, you can enjoy panoramic views of the peaks, terraced fields, and mist right from your bed. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms spotless, and the decor is simple yet soothing. The infinity pool at the mountain top, backed by the surrounding peaks, offers breathtaking views, perfect for stunning photos. Breakfast is a semi-buffet with Vietnamese pho, and the resort boasts a full range of amenities including a mahjong room, billiards, and a children's play area. The butler service is attentive and thoughtful. It's an ideal spot for a relaxing slow-paced getaway, and I'll definitely be back!

To catch the earliest boat to the Huashan Rock Paintings, I stayed overnight in Chongzuo. My impression of the city was very positive. Checking into the hotel was a pleasant surprise; the handsome and beautiful receptionists were very welcoming, the room was clean and tidy, the laundry room was easy to use, the breakfast restaurant staff were attentive, the coffee was delicious, and the freshly made Lao You Fen (a type of rice noodle soup) was authentic. The underground parking garage was under construction and quite dusty, but parking was very convenient.

Extremely satisfied with this guesthouse! I initially chose this location because the electric scooter parking at Yu Lin Ba (Fish Scale Dam) costs money, so I figured I'd stay here, see the dam, and then rent a scooter. That turned out to be a great decision – the location is incredibly advantageous, and currently, this guesthouse offers the best value and is the prettiest in the area.
The hotel rooms come with washing machines, there's a 'Sky Mirror' on the rooftop, and a kids' pool downstairs. What really stands out is how attentive they are to every detail. Every corner is spotless. When I went to the Sky Mirror at noon, an auntie even specially cleaned the glass. The swimming rings by the pool were all nice and new, not tattered at all. The room also had a Tmall Genie, and the cleaning was impeccable. I arrived early, and they opened one room for me, and I practically watched them prepare the adjacent one. When we checked in, the staff immediately took photos of our license plate to link it to the parking system. The service was incredibly thoughtful, and we even received brown sugar as a parting gift when we checked out. A truly delightful stay!

The room was new and clean, and the owners were very welcoming. The hotel is one of the few in Shuolong Town with an elevator, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a view of Vietnam; you can see the scenery across the river just by sitting by the window. Also, the hotel's private kitchen dishes were excellent. The food was delicious, with Vietnamese flavors, and we rated it a 7 out of 10 for the best meal of our trip. We will definitely stay here again next time we have the chance.

chomanhoThe staff are incredibly warm and friendly, and the environment is beautiful. This hotel is an excellent choice for both business trips and leisure vacations. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, and the hotel's design is very tasteful, with every corner exuding an artistic feel. The facilities are comprehensive and impressive, including the gym and swimming pool. Highly recommended! [Strong]

The bed was huge, probably 8 feet wide. The room was clean, and the lobby was beautiful. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was plentiful. The price was cheap, making it great value for money. There were plenty of parking spaces, making it very convenient to get to Friendship Pass!

Facilities: There weren't enough charging outlets, and the toilet seat was a bit too low. The blankets were too damp.
Cleanliness: Good.
Environment: Mountain views are visible from the windows. The location is opposite the People's Hospital. There are parking spaces in front, many restaurants downstairs, and a supermarket. The location is excellent.
Service: The hotel lobby staff weren't very friendly. I heard I booked through Ctrip online; their attitude was unenthusiastic and cold.

Maitland GroomStay here! You can stay at the park gate. Drive up to it at night. Sleep here. He’ll go get your tickets in the morning for you and then you can be in the park at 8:30. You’ll arrive right as the people who have to bus in arrive but if you’re not in a group you can get ahead of everyone and enjoy the park and be on your way around noon

The room facilities, though a bit dated, were very well-maintained and clean, showing the hotel's dedication. The hotel is located near the Guichun River within the scenic area, offering views of the Vietnamese people across the river, though the barbed wire fence is a bit of a letdown. However, the hotel's garden restaurant is an absolute disaster—the food is unappetizing and truly awful. I'd recommend eating before you check in or returning to the hotel to rest after you've had a meal elsewhere.
