The hotel is incredibly close to Shizuoka Station, about a 5-10 minute walk, and surrounded by restaurants, Don Quijote, and convenience stores, which was really fantastic! I highly recommend it!
Also, if you walk about 10 minutes, you'll find the Shizuoka Prefectural Office and Sunpu Castle & Park. On a nice day, it would be perfect to visit the Prefectural Office (opens at 10 AM) to see Mt. Fuji, then take a stroll through Sunpu Park. It was also interesting to see many schools nearby!
If you're visiting Shizuoka for a trip to a smaller Japanese city, I definitely recommend staying here! Unlike other accommodations in Japan, this one was quite spacious! For reference, we stayed in a twin room.
We inadvertently chose to have breakfast and the staff were incredibly nice, though the food was just average. It's still worth trying at least once.
I didn't take any photos of the room's interior, but I've included pictures taken near the hotel and from inside the hotel at sunset.

I regretted booking only 3 days 2 nights. It was so comfortable staying at Nihon iro. Staff was nice, amenities were complete. They even provided some discounts vouchers for nearby eateries. We can even enter the spa for free. Too bad we had such a short stay, we managed to spend time at the beach enjoying some craft beef with some cherry beans fries. Life was great for 3 days. Thanks for sending us to mochimune station using tuktuk. Definitely will visit again and again and again!

We had a wonderful stay, although the location was a bit challenging to find and quite far from the city. Right outside our room was a beautiful blossom tree, adding to the charm of our experience. It would have been helpful if the communication regarding dinner reservations was clearer, as we weren’t aware we needed to book in advance. Fortunately, the staff recommended a lovely restaurant within walking distance that was still open, and we really enjoyed our meal there.

I booked this hotel in a rush late at night after missing my train, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The self check-in was quick and convenient, and the front desk staff were professional and polite. The room itself was clean and tidy. While it's quite compact – much like an Ibis hotel in China – the size wasn't an issue for me. It was a lifesaver in my predicament, is conveniently located near Shizuoka Station, and offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Anonymous UserThe hotel is a bit of a walk from JR Shizuoka Station North Exit. While the room size was actually decent for a single, the layout meant my 24-inch suitcase could barely be opened near the door; a 28-inch suitcase definitely wouldn't fit. Another issue was being assigned a corner room directly opposite the elevator. There was constant foot traffic and noise, which made it hard to fall asleep at first.

I was a bit disappointed with our stay. The room looked much more spacious in the photos, but the room we were given felt quite small and cramped. It also didn’t have any view, which was disappointing. I was expecting the room to be brighter as well, but the lighting felt too dim. Overall, the room did not match the impression shown in the photos.
There were also only a few pillows provided. I was also a bit confused about the tea and coffee because there was nothing in the tray, so I wasn’t sure where to get them. Another inconvenience was that there was only one power outlet near the bed for charging phones. Since there were two of us, only one person could charge nearby, while the other had to charge farther away.
Even though there were some downsides, there were good things as well. The location was very convenient — as soon as you step out of the hotel, everything is nearby, including Ichiran, shopping malls, and plenty of places to eat.

The Quest Shimizu Hotel is conveniently located near Shimizu Station and popular attractions, offering excellent transportation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a simple and warm design, perfect for both long and short stays. The staff are friendly and responsive. With numerous dining options nearby, it's an ideal base for exploring the Shimizu and Dazaifu areas.

陳查禮Excellent location within walking distance to major tourist locations and shopping and dining districts as well as public transports. Carpark is available across the road at 1100 Yen for 24 hours. I chose room with breakfast for 2 and it is well value for money. The spa, though small, but is well kept and much undertilized. In fact, I am the only one using the spa. Environment, services and facilities are all up to good standards. Guests can also have free access to the coffee and soft drinks machine around the clock.

ShimadaInuFree unlimited alcohol at bar after 6 pm is totally beyond expectation.
Room is quite big, with large size bathtub and separated toilet. Very quiet from my experience.
The room I stayed does not have a window, not sure if it’s the common case. But I’m ok with that.
The location should be considered as the major concern. It’s right beside the interchange of highway, so can be ideal for self-driving trips. However, for travelers by public transportation, you’ll have to use the local bus service, it can take quite a while to figure out how.(For anyone who may read this comment: if you depart from Shizuoka JR station, look for bus No.71 or No.27, and get off at Shizuoka IC stop , which is the closest stop from hotel)
Generally I do enjoy the stay, and the nearby region has a lot of restaurants as well as convenient stores, will consider to come back if drive by next time.
