Behind it is a river, and along the riverbank is a large grove of pomelo trees. Meizhou is famous for its Shatang pomelos, so this place is called Pomelo Isle! Changsha has Orange Isle, and this is Pomelo Isle. It feels a bit like a poor imitation! We booked a five-room guesthouse as a group of friends and family, thinking that at least there would be a living room where everyone could sit and chat over tea. However, I didn't check the facilities carefully and assumed they were there. Another guesthouse looked better in the pictures, and since the price was the same, I assumed the layout would be similar. But upon arrival, I realized there was a significant difference! The customer service was excellent. We arrived around noon, before check-in time, and they arranged for us to have tea at a large tea table in the back garden. It was almost 2 PM when they finally cleaned up and let us in. The rooms are on either side of the building, and the bathroom is in the middle of the corridor – four people share one bathroom. This was a bit inconvenient. Everything else was fine! The breakfast was also good! Overall, it's worth a try!
