"A place you miss" My partner and I stayed at this facility, Rifugio Pranolz, on the last weekend of August. Before writing this review, I wanted to take some time, with the intention of judging it with a cool head, so as not to run the risk of my judgment being influenced by the joy of the experience we just had. I must say that after almost two weeks, it is a place we continue to miss deeply. We are a couple from Puglia and we are not used to the mountains. However, we have always dreamed of spending time in total relaxation in one of those facilities that we believe only exist in the movies: a cabin immersed in greenery, surrounded by mountains and completely free from the noise of the city. In fact, Rifugio Pranolz comes very close to this description, because we found everything that makes us sigh in front of the television, when we watch a film or a TV series set in a mountain location. Our room, the Campanellino, completely restored, was welcoming and comfortable, with a view of the Belluno Dolomites so beautiful that it made us smile when we woke up. The refuge's cuisine, typical of the area, was a treat that we wanted to indulge in for each meal of the two nights we stayed in the facility: generous portions and prices in line with the general demand of the place (plate of pastin with polenta 9 euros, medium beer 6.5 euros, cover charge 2.5 euros with a priceless atmosphere included in the price, tagliatelle with venison sauce 12 euros, sparkling water (I think 1 liter) 3.5 euros, maybe a little too much, but we know that there is a higher markup on drinks. Furthermore, the prices are all displayed on the menu, so you pay for what you choose. The buffet breakfast, for a cost of 10 euros per person, is slightly limited in choice, but complete with everything you need to start the day well (don't expect the international breakfast of a large hotel). Before choosing it, we took a look at the reviews and some comments had prepared us for the worst. In reality, a lot depends on the period: if you go to certain places, in high season, the wait and the noise must be taken into account. Late August/early September is a great time based on our experience. We feel we were lucky not to have encountered the inconveniences mentioned by other travelers. But, after all, every experience is different, just like the people who live it... Would we go back? Absolutely. Will we go back? Absolutely, because it was truly like being at home, but surrounded by mountains. Let our photos guide you.
