Hotel Hortencia

If you want to spend extra money and stay in a construction site, stay here. I was horrified to find out that the hotel was half torn-down and that my room was in a bad shape and smelled like mold. Your window is in a full view of construction garbage. I'm pretty low maintenance. I wasn't expecting a 4 or 5 star hotel. But for the price I paid per night and glowing reviews I've read, it just didn't make any sense. I've stayed at Hotel Pasada de Roger and Hotel Rio Malecon, both of which were CHEAPER and thousand times BETTER than this horror house. Hotel Eloisa and Hotel Encino looked like better options too. I feel bad for leaving a bad review because the staffs were incredibly nice and sympathetic. Unfortunately, they were incompetent. They didn't know how to handle this kind of situation. I immediately voiced my concern, but the staff didn't know what to do. Later that night, a manager agreed to let me cancel the rest of the stay. To my surprise, he said he didn't know how to reverse a credit card transaction, and he'll be charging me 20% tax on the nights I cancelled. He said he didn't know how to refund the tax so he'll be charging me. It just baffled me, but whatever. I just wanted to get out of this horror house as soon as possible. My favorite go-to hotel while I PV just like being home. Everyone here from front desk to cleaning staff treat you like family always friendly outgoing and welcoming. Always clean and professional and on point. Little hidden gem. If you don't want to be bothered they leave you alone if you need anything there always willing to go above and beyond to help you there also very honest had my clothes washed and left money in my pocket. By the time I got back later that evening it was on my bed with a note there very honest humble and hard working here love it here there is no other option for me but hotel hortencia.
