Gautam Homestay
"The property is quite new, clean and very comfortable. The host is very friendly and arranged his driver to pick me from the airport at a nominal cost. He even helped me with my train ticket booking online and dropped at the train station as well. My experience in Gautam Homestay was quite nice. I would rate their service as a 5 star service."
Club Hotel Dolphin
"Amazing staff, amazing food. A good start to our honeymoon. Sadly only here for 1 night so unable to comment on much else. Beach covered in rubbish and plastics which I was not expecting."
Wattura Resort & Spa
"In February, we stayed at the hotel with our children. We have traveled to many places before, but we truly felt wonderful here. Praveen fulfilled all our wishes and made our vacation even more special. Mr. Devaka, the naturalist guide, organized amazing excursions for us. We stayed in a villa at the hotel, which was huge and met all our needs. The massage helped us forget all our worries. Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyon"
Dinuda Lagoon Hotel
"Absolute disappointment do not recommend at all. Bedsheets looked like they hadn’t been changed for months with dirt and stains everywhere. We were itching the whole night to the point we had to take something for it. The shower had cobwebs and a stench coming from it. There wasn’t even a mirror let alone a dustbin in the room for the price- which was a very large amount due to the new years season- we were paying for it. The way the staff spoke to us didn’t make us feel like we were paying guests. The food was tasteless, and at one point served us what was left of the buffet because there wasn’t enough food which is not right because we were paying for all three meals. Overall an extremely bad experience and total waste of both time and money. Do not recommend at ALL."
Anantaya Resort & Spa Chilaw
"Thank you for everything its good amazing place enjoyable. Pleasant staff Dinner buffet 😋 is so tasty."
Bar Reef Resort
"A truely amazing experience made perfect by the wonderful team. We stayed for 4 nights and could not find fault. The food was excellent and the staff could not have done more for us. We had a dolphin watching trip and a reef fishing trip where we caught baracuda which was expertly prepared for us that evening for supper. The beach cabana was clean and comfortabl"
Wind Blend Kite Resort
"We spent 2 nights with our 3 children in the family bungalow. The full resort, as well as our rooms in particular, are very well integrated into the trees, we really felt part of the nature. For breakfasts and dinners we had a very good introduction to the sri lankan cuisine. Not being kitesurfers, we enjoyed visiting the village and the beach, we could have stayed much longer. Well done to Sudath and his team for making this place so welcoming !"
Suriya Resort
"The Shi-En Ikebana and Floral Society of Sri Lanka organized its annual day trip to Suriya Resort on the 24th of January 2026. The outing was a memorable and well organized event, enjoyed thoroughly by all members. The serene ambiance of the hotel, complemented by breathtaking views of the mangroves, lagoon, and the sea, added to the charm of the experience. A scrumptious lunch and afternoon tea was served, further enhancing the enjoyment of the day. Overall, it was a delightful visit, and the Society looks forward to visiting the resort again in the future."

Ocean View Beach Resort - Kalpitiya
"Super nice stay at the hotel. Manager and staff are super kind and helpful. Excellent cabanas almost in the beach."
Melheim Beach Kalpitiya
"Relaxed personal space with good sea veiw"
Wellé Wadiya Beach Villa
"We decided to go here because they seemed to have a lot of positive reviews. But unfortunately in our opinion, the hotel failed to meet even the most basic of expectations. The food was terrible and extremely overpriced. There were no sunbeds or even chairs at the beach to sit at. Even the cut fruits we requested after lunch were unripe. Rooms were alright, although the bed sheet and the pillowcases had stains on them. The only place to hang out wet clothes or towels was a rusty wall mount rack in the toilet that ended up staining our clothes. We could've managed with the quality of service, cleanliness and facilities had there been decent food. Extremely disappointed at the quality and the exorbitant price for the food. Wouldn't really recommend this place to anyone."
Dolphin Beach Resort - Kalpitiya
"This is our second time at the dolphin beach. Just like the first time the location was great and staff was excellent, very friendly. I think due to the recent cyclone there were some small damaged to the property furniture and we really can’t complaint about it. The room and the bathroom was great. Had a lot of space and there was an outdoor shower as well which is nice. But this time I saw that the menu prices have gone up drastically. Also when I was looking to put the reservation I was told to go with BNB. We usually do half board or full board but this lady kinda encourage us to go with BNB. And we had to spend more on food that the two day room price. We went with two little kids and one was 3 years old so we had to order food for her as well. And the property has charged for that but usually everywhere children below 6 stay for free. Some dishes were priced alright but some like Sri Lankan coconut rotti with curry was 3k which is absurd. All the meals were delicious but I think the prices are bit too much. I was really disappointed with that but still I can’t give lower than 4 stars because this hotel is great"
Club Palm Bay
"Exceptional resort - Great value for money. Mindula, Akila and Piumi went above and beyond in providing service."
Taru Villas Villu - Wilpattu
"TARU VILLAS WILPATU We were told (after we arrived) that the hotel had taken 3 years to build and had only been open for 7 months - however for $1000 per night you would expect much more and hence we were very disappointed with ……… * Very Sketchy wifi - I couldn’t work or connect with family/friends much of the time * Hot water runs out after 15 minutes so you are left with shampoo in your hair unable to wash out unless you do so in cold water (I was not happy at all) * Whilst the naturalist Ravi is a delightful young man who tries really very hard and he is absolutely lovely, the Safaris are quite mediocre - and if you have ever been on a safari in Africa - do not even bother here. * No Gym * No TV * No Spa treatments * Not even any board or card games available so when it rains and boy does it rain - even in the so called “dry season” you are left with NOTHING to do - you cannot sunbathe, cannot watch tv, cannot work, cannot have any spa treatments so you are left watching the rain and twiddling your thumbs. * Not even a yoga mat Whilst the staff are beyond incredible and really cannot do enough for you - Mark Anthony (Hotel Manager available 24/7) and his team are wonderful - it leaves a sour taste when you have paid so much money and so many things need massive improvements The food is exceptional - a lovely new menu every day and you can eat whenever you like Rooms are beautiful (quite dark) - beds and pillows very comfortable and linen is lovely, however there are no sun beds on your private patio so you HAVE to go to the pool if you want to sunbathe !! The hotel is part of a privately owned small chain and as such they should know better to have everything in place PRIOR to opening their doors to paying guests. However it is beautiful - both the grounds and the rooms but for that amount of money there needs to be much more and personally I think that EVERYTHING that is lacking should have been in place before opening their doors to paying guests !!! And travel agents should not be recommending them until all is in place. In addition they totally mucked up on our bill which should have had 1 whisky on it and they OVER charged us over £1,2000.00 - total incompetence. Would I come back - No"
Villa Santé, Kalpitiya & Kite Surfing by TSC
"We had a memorable, heartwarming and adventurous time at this charming villa, on our recent trip to Sri Lanka. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, air-conditioned, comfortable and cozy. The six staff members who attended to our needs from pool-side to dining hall, were warm, humble, respectful and went beyond the call of duty. The meals were Sri Lankan delights on our request (and teenagers ate in between meals also), including lagoon-side seafood specialties. Cooked with fresh ingredients, the meals were scrumptious. In this lovely remote villa, set in a coconut grove with Sri Lankan type hospitality, we made lasting memories playing many board games way into the night, engaging in pool volleyball competitions and indulging in long family type meals. The villa is right beside a kite surfing school, where my teenage kids and their cousins learned this fun sport, in a safe environment. Our trip was topped by an early morning safari to Wilpattu (Sri-lanka’s largest forest reserve), which was an hour’s drive from the villa. Highly recommended for large families with kids."
Roshanne Beach Resort, Kalpitiya
"Without a doubt, Kalpitiya's greatest beach resort is Roshanne Beach Resort. The food is excellent, the staff is very helpful and polite, and the accommodations are spacious and well-kept. The resort's beachside setting is ideal for a tranquil vacation. We had a great experience and are forward to go again."
Villa Sunbird Negombo
"I stayed here for 3 nights on our arrival to Colombo and just had the most wonderful time. Approx 30 mins from the airport, it allows for a relaxing start or end to your trip in Sri Lanka, away from the bustle of Colombo. The pool was lovely to use and the rooms were gorgeous and clean. There is a lovely entrance to the beach through palm and mangrove trees and the beach is nice although rough. The staff were helpful and kind and I had delicious Sri Lankan food prepared for me. I recommend the string hoppers with potato curry and pol sambol for breakfast. And for dinner a fish/prawn dish as it comes fresh from the ocean the same day. Overall great if you’re looking for a breather outside of Colombo in a beautiful, relaxing location."
Villa Sethawadi Hotel and Kitesurf Centre
"Absolutely amazing retreat ! This is a hidden gem. A beautiful place tucked away by the Lagoon. Superb for kitesurfing. Lovely accommodation right on the water. The staff are incredible and Matt and his team at the Kitesurf Centre are the best."
Adiques's Resorts
"We did not enjoy this hotel because of frequent very loud noise from giant loudspeakers in the workshop next door, speakers being tested (ie played) for long periods in the day, Turns out this is a loudspeaker repairing workshop. Adiques manager did speak with them with varying results when I requested some peace on four or five occasions over 3 days but then seversl times asked me to be patient as they were just trying to make a living. Otherwise Adiques was fine although there was no good beach access, no sun umbrellas and little English spoken. However it was the noise that totally ruined it for me."
Sanmali Beach Hotel
"Location is good, rooms condition is good., friendly service , food is very tasty, swimming pool is very clean, highly recommended"
