"We stayed for 9 days in late September. Its not a B&B, there are 7 apartments over 2 floors. We stayed in the top leftmost (when looking out to sea) which I think had the best view. It also had a roof over the balcony so we could sit and watch the rain (it does rain!) When you arrive with luggage its best to get to Amalfi and catch the half-hourly SITA 5110 bus (there is a stand with Ravello written above it) Get off at the Ravello terminus (just before the tunnel) and walk back on yourself down ‘Via Della Republica’. It is easy to miss the right turn (see photo) onto ‘Via Cassanova’ because the "streets" in these little hillside villages are sometimes no more than alleyways with stairs. After climbing down the 56 steps you will see the gate (its lit but no sign!) into Ill Giardino Dei Limoni which is then another 69 steps down. The wooden front door has no sign but ring the bell and someone will come. First lets say that yes, it is 2 star and fairly basic in terms of equipment. There is no microwave or kettle and virtually no coat hangers. There is a toaster though and enough pots to make "the pasta" There is a cupboard full of biscuits and snacks and a fridge freezer with enough : milk bread butter. preserves, juice and yoghurt , cooked meats and cheese to last your entire stay. The bed is extremely comfortable (I had a memory foam topper that I didn’t unpack) The owner was amazing , He even opened up the garden fior us to sunbathe The large separate bathroom had a bath and separate shower cubicle with overhead and standard shower heads (very strong water pressure!) and plenty of space for toiletries; makeup etc and a hairdryer. You dont need to go up to Ravello to eat. There are restaurants on Via della repubblica (Sea view pizza) and an amazing bar set back on the bend in the road (with a kind of Grotto) You can walk down to the sea (ignore other reviews) you just rejoin ‘Via Cassanova’ and go down a lot of steps until you reach ‘Via Zia Marta’ (an actual road) . Then its left with a lot more steps down towards Minori (the Marmorata hotel is at the bottom) or right to merge onto Strada Statale (on the Ravello bus Route) which meets the Amalfi Drive coast road nearer to Atrani/Amalfi. You can get the bus either way (SITA 5220) to further up/down the coast. Minori and Atrani/Amalfi are walkable. I am an overweight 62 year old and I managed quite a lot of walking down steps. We minimised the "up steps" by taking the bus to Ravello and walking down. The taxis are extortionate (see photo of rates from Ravello to other towns), so even the comparatively rich Americans generally took the buses and the ferries. If you want to catch the ferry to Positano or Capri go from Minori as it won’t be as full. You buy ferry tickets at the booth on the harbour. "I booked a suite with a sea view. The picture shows the balcony view. You will have the entire balcony, living room and room to yourself. There is a parking lot, but you need to be careful when parking. The breakfast at the hotel is simple but filling. I suggest you bring your own mosquito repellent, as there are still mosquitoes in this area."

"We loved our stay at Villa Bosa. Barbara greeted us with the warmest welcome and a welcome glass of cold Prosecco and showed us to our stunning room. The room was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space a huge balcony and excellent bathroom. The view is stunning. Dino was ever present and his style and artistic flare is the heart of the accommodation. It’s modern, stylish and very relaxed. He was great at giving advice and encouraged us to hire a Vespa to get around the coast. I was extremely reluctant due to crazy traffic but we took the plunge and it turned out to be a day I will never forget. To follow the coastline with wind in your face was magical and not as scary as I thought. Breakfast also deserves a mention as it was really lovely, healthy and cooked fresh to order. The breakfast/housekeeping ladies were also delightful. Villa bosa is a walk from Amalfi and a bit hairy as the roads are narrow and busy but we walked to Atrani for a meal and the beach a couple of times too which was all very manageable. We also found a local hotel that cooked fresh food where we could eat and it was only 5 mins away. We had a wonderful stay. It was our first time in Italy as we normally travel further afield in the winter months but it won’t be our last and we will always have a special memories of our 4 nights in Villa Bosa. We will be back to see the next stage the bar in the cave !!!"

"We had booked Villa Barluzzi for 3 nights at the end of September. We were travelling from US and hit some delays. Because we had arrived after 8pm, Villa Barluzzi canceled our entire stay! I would like to point out that we had paid for the reservation in FULL and so that means the room is ours for that time. But not according to Villa Barluzzi- they think they can take your money and then rent the room to someone else. Villa Barluzzi charged me over $3k for my reservation, cancelled my reservation without my knowledge, re-booked the room for someone else, and did not refund me for my reservation. This place is a SCAM. BE AWARE! I cannot get a hold of anyone the hotel. The number provided has a constant busy signal or a forever ring with no one answering. There is no option to leave a message, even. I have emailed per email on site multiple times and no one has responded."

"This is one of my favourite hotels in the world. Sitting on top of a mountain, with stunning views of both the sea and other mountains for miles on end. Pictures don't do it justice, it has to be seen with your own eyes to be truly appreciated. Just be prepared for a short 10 minute hike with stairs to reach the hotel, since there are no direct roads accessible, but your luggage will be taken care of by the hotel porters. The walk to the hotel is a refreshing experience itself, giving you a taste of the Ravello mountain life! The staff were all polite and professional, catering to our every need. We went for our wedding anniversary, and the staff accommodated us at every moment, even opening up their helipad for our pickup during departure. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful escape far away from noise and people!"

It’s a lovely small hotel just off the Duomo Square with friendly welcoming staff. Very comfortable room with well equipped en suite. I loved being able to just read outside on the covered raised lawn area & we had breakfast outside on the rear patio - such a range to choose from & very relaxed. Ravello is beautiful & Toro a perfect place to enjoy it from."

"The best place to stay on the Amalfi Coast! We went to a few different places and the Garden hotel in Ravello was by far my favorite. The staff makes you feel like you are a part of the family. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The room was perfectly clean, there was complimentary water and coffee everyday and would definitely recommend including breakfast (it was delicious). The most incredible part of the room was by far the view. It was absolutely stunning, like nothing I have ever seen before. An amazing price for the value you are provided with. It was not noisy at all, was able to get an amazing few nights of sleep. For amenities, the pool has a beautiful view. They also offer personal training sessions and spa sessions. I would go back 10x over if I could."

"We spent a month traveling Italy. As beautiful as this country is, we saved the best for last. Our accommodations were impeccable. Everything was perfect: the decor, the linens, the bed, towels, THE SHOWER! We had an incredible balcony with a million dollar ((oops, euro) view where every morning we were served a scrumptious breakfast. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed three nights, I wish it had been more. Next time."
