We stayed from 30th of Nov to 11.Dec in the hotel (regular not reserve) and had a nice room with Ocean view, which was particular nice. We really liked the warm welcome right from the start. The hotel offers quite some possibilities for food (market hall and several restaurants, all good bookable via the Melia app). The beef carpacio in the Kanna restaurant , steak tartar and the prawns we really liked most. Cocktails in the evenings at two locations were really good. Every evening in the ginger bar there was nice music to have a nice background for relaxing. The gym was well equipped (only minor minus point was the missing disinfectant). It is 24? hours opened and in the morning always around 0700 there were several people in. The overall hotel was really clean, well maintained and we really liked the friendliness of the staff. Seating possibilities at the pool were available. Small hikes from the hotel to the Dunes and the lighttower (90 minutes per direction) were really nice. WIFI was ok, sometimes flickering a little bit, but not a serious issue. Overall, we really liked our stay and booked for next year again. Perfect relaxation in Nov/Dec :)

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We have just touched down home after a 5 night stay at the Paradisus Melia Gran Canaria. I am an avid review reader but must admit I am terrible at returning the favour and writing reviews myself. However, this hotel really deserves to be shouted about. From the moment you walk through the front door, until the minute you leave, you really do feel you have stayed in a luxury 5* hotel resort. From the extremely high standards of cleanliness, the top notch service from EVERY SINGLE staff member we came across, the food, cocktails - everything was just fantastic. We upgraded to the Reserve (we were away for my husbands 40th birthday without the kids, so a treat for us!) and it really was a worthy extra. Comfy sun/bali beds with towels provided, a fully (and I mean fully) stocked self serve bar area with all branded spirits and snacks provided all day. The breakfast at the Reserve was also one of our favourite parts, including a decent coffee too! Some of our other highlights were the cocktails in the Ginger/Vibra bar. They were all ‘properly’ made and not just juice poured from a carton, the Frozen Mango daquari’s were my fave and my husband was impressed with the Old Fashioned. They also make a very mean espresso martini too! We did try the buffet restaurants on a couple of occasions, the first evening after a long day of travelling and our last morning before a morning flight home. We were also impressed with the choice on offer, and the quality of food seemed a good standard also! We tried the Italian, Mediterranean, Vibra bar and he local cuisine set menu restaurant ‘Pesceta’. All were very very good, no faults at all. It was so nice to be waited on and take our time having dinner, we were never rushed but also our food never took too long to arrive also. We stayed in one of the rooms which looked over the pool/sea view and would definitely recommend. The rooms which look outside the front of the hotel looked like you just wouldn’t get the same experience, as no sunrise and sunset which we got to see from our balcony every day. The hotel is situated in San Augustine which seemed a very well maintained area, right on the beach front. Quite a quiet area but we walked into Playa Del Ingles/Maspalomas which is pathed the entire way along the promenade seafront (it took around 40 minutes) if you do want to have a little venture out. Overall, 5 out of 5. We would DEFINITELY return to this hotel, and will recommend it. Thank you everyone!

From the moment we arrived we was treated like royalty, we was offered a bottle of water while we was checking in as it was a warm day. We was asked if we would like a tour of the facilities while they got our room ready which we gladly accepted. Louis took us on a in-depth tour of the hotel and was such a delight, he could not do enough for us and made us feel so relaxed (he should be rewarded for the way he treats people, he would be a credit to any organisation). Once the tour was over he offered to show us to our room, at this point I said "let me grab our suitcase" to which his reply was "my colleague will bring this to your room". Louis showed us to our room (Reserve junior suite ocean view) and as we walked in (we was on our honeymoon) the was a row of rose petals leading to our bed with a big rose petal heart on it, a bottle of champagne on ice, a plate of sweets and a personalised hand written card from the staff congratulating us on our wedding. As my wife was looking at everything and crying happy tears Louis looked at me and gave me the thumbs up (it's the little touches that count). The whole hotel was immaculate, food was amazing (even the quality of the food in the buffet restaurant was unbelievable) and a massive variety of choice. On whole this has been a amazing honeymoon and the staff have made us feel extra special for our special occasion. We will 100% return to this hotel when we can next get away from the kids lol

We stayed at Paradisus for a week for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived until we left we were treated like royals. The first thing that stood out was the staffs exceptional service and friendly attitude. We were greeted with gifts and they even gave me a bday present since my bday fell same week. They left us notes and called us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. Our room was amazing and the housekeeping staff cleaned it several times a day. They were super quick and efficient. They made our experience wonderful as well. Then, the spa was the cherry on top. Amazing services and choices and very professional staff. The grounds were always clean and sparkling. No bugs, no pests, no animals except pretty birds. They had elegant landscaping. Good food and waiters, and lots of choices of restaurants and things to do. We also had some excursion experiences included. They get our highest recommendation and if we can ever go back we definitely will book with them again. They helped us have an amazing honeymoon experience we'll never forget.

Great hotel. Pools Never had a problem getting a sunbed around the pool whatever time we went down. We are late breakfast eaters & there was always loungers when we got down. The pool we found cold they were supposed to be heated but have to be honest they weren't particularly warm. 2 smaller pools with 1 larger one. The is a food outlet called the Shack I found the food excellent here. I loved the burger here though generally I am not a fan of burgers these were of exceptional quality. Really thick patties. A towel box to grab a towel anytime you want. No cards & no deposit. Also ice creams available here. Food This was a contentious one with a lot of people moaning about the food being cold. Some of the food was cold which I don't really have a major problem with. There was something for everyone with some stuff that I can honestly say I have never seen in a buffet before such as razor class which I didn't eat as I have no idea how to eat it. There was lamb chops, steaks, scallops, tuna steak, duck, chicken, prawns, cray fish & plenty of pork on offer in the Mina section. Desserts we're probably the best I have even eaten pure luxury. Other than that plentiful cheese, bread, fruit. A stir fry where you chose your raw ingredients & some dude cooked it & some Italian stuff that got made fresh. Al la carte We went to Kanna & to be honest it wasn't very good.I had my steak blue but it wasn't a very good customer be honest. Then our dessert never came despite us asking numerous times. Eventually it came but the brought a cheesecake instead of cheeseboard for one of us. The staff were really nice to be honest but pretty hopeless. Bars I loved GinGer bar the drinks were excellent (all branded) although I did get bored of Cruz Campo after a week. The po*n star martini was excellent & very close to what we get at home. The food was also good. Vibra was OK too just behind GinGer it served cider & there & had a completely different food menu although the food wasn't 24 hour unlike GinGer. Rooms Excellent. Large with rain shower, roof spinner, excellent air conditioning too. The was like a little iPad thing on the wall which you could alter everything & turn the lights off with which was excellent. Mini bar filled every day with 4 water, 2 Cruz Campo, 2 Heineken, 2 diet coke, 2 coke, 2 orange & 2 fruit juice, bag of crisps & chocolate bars. Rooms cleaned daily. Animation team The animation team is quite low profile but I did water aerobics & there is also some crafts going on. Also the resort is right on the beach front so you you can access to the beach by the gate at the front. I personally don't go to the same hotel twice but if I did I most definitely would as it's an amazing hotel. Massive thanks to all the staff particularly the crew at GinGer bar.

Never been to Gran Canaria before, never been to the Canaries before but the terrible British summer made us desperate for some sunshine. We chose this hotel in San Augustin as one of the quietest areas we could find. The hotel is beautiful and stylish. The staff were amazing and so lovely. Can certainly recommend.
