Right cross the street from the transit center. Very good location for this college town and a tour to the monastery. Building is old and breakfast is mediocre. No free parking but plenty of street parking is available. However, it’s very dark on the street at night. My bumper hit the curve unfortunately .

Wifi wasn’t working.
Floor was not firmly installed, makes noise. Door almost have no soundproofing, so u will hear noise from corridor.
Breakfast cost 12€ per person, but lack of vegetables.
Generally not satisfied with room rate.

This is my fourth time staying in this hotel. The room is small but clean and tidy, with a small balcony. It is a 4-minute walk from the Royal Monastery, surrounded by restaurants and has very convenient transportation.

Very, very good hotel, there is also an exclusive balcony outside the room, the view is great, and the breakfast is also great! The hotel location is also very good!

Big, beautiful, super well located and all spotless. The only bad thing to highlight would be parking around

We stayed 2 nights in order to visit the Palace of El Escorial. There is space to pull up a car to unload baggage, but no parking. Check-in was friendly and efficient. When we checked availability of facilities, the pool was closed, which didn't surprise us as the weather was still cool, but also the bar/cafeteria and restaurant were also not open. Very disappointing for a 4* hotel. We were able to find a street car parking place 2 roads away. We had requested a quiet room and were allocated a corner room at the end of the corridor, with a pleasant balcony. Our room was small and functional, but with no kettle or coffee-making and the bar/cafe not open we realised that we would have to go out for morning coffee. Admittedly, outside of the hotel's control, but the noise from the neighbouring room was intolerable both nights. (through to and beyond 2.00am). Seemingly the separating wall does not suppress the sound of conversation, shouting, moaning, screaming, music, TV, etc. We complained to the Manager at check- out that the facilities on offer were not at 4* level and, to be fair, she listened and made a reduction to our bill. All in all, a disappointing visit. Unable to recommend.

Very comfortable room nicely modernised. Brilliant position close to the Monastery. Great breakfast. The parking was very easy. They allowed you to unload outside the hotel and then go to the underground parking which the hotel had a discount for. There is no restaurant but the recommendations of where to eat in the village were great. Lovely reception staff who spoke excellent English

Good location ( not the best one as there is no view on the Monastery), diligent and nice staff, well-priced, excellent breakfast, the 4 stars ranking is a bit debatable, that said the quality of the room vs the price is fair. No private parking.

I just arrived and there are guests in this hotel who shouldn't come. While I was talking to the receptionist, a person from another galaxy - Venezuela Vision - interrupted the conversation at his convenience and allowed himself to call me the fat one. Naturally, not Spanish. Now I understand why it doesn't have a better rating. Maybe they should renovate it, in some aspects it is outdated, and they could have a barrier to entry for undesirable people. We will keep you informed.

I stayed here as I do every year in December because it is a special and significant date at a personal level. Firstly, we requested a specific room in advance, to which they replied that it was subject to availability. When we arrived we were given a room that did not fit anything we requested. Indeed, they changed our room with the corresponding supplement. We asked about the requested room and they told us that it was occupied. But during the stay we confirmed that it was not. Secondly, in relation to the Wi-Fi connection during the entire stay it was non-existent and none of the receptionists on different shifts was able to give me a solution, not even by bringing them my device in question. Surprisingly, when we checked out, the receptionist's response was "it works fine for me, it must be your tablet." I don't think that is an accurate answer in a hotel of this category or in any other. It is not my case, but would they give the same answer to a person who needs Wi-Fi 24 hours a day to work? The final straw when leaving is being charged for a measly bottle of water consumed in the mini bar when they have not been able to give me a solution to any of my small problems. What a shame that they have already lost two customers due to this type of detail. Keep trying to lose them with your lack of involvement. Get your act together. Merry Christmas.

I have been to this hotel several times for work reasons, it had been about 15 years since I last returned and taking advantage of my silver wedding anniversary I decided to spend a weekend in El Escorial. My experience this time was terrible, I remembered this hotel with a certain glamour and nobility, not to mention the professionalism of its employees, quite the opposite of this visit. The room had peeling walls, the bathroom was dirty, we reported it to reception and they did not fix it until the afternoon, the buffet breakfast is depressing, in short, a classic hotel that has fallen into disrepair.

We booked a suite, I wasn't expecting such a minimalist room without any accessories beyond two mini glasses of water... or a shot. We had a hard time after asking three different people to let us have a simple bottle opener that we had to return to reception a few minutes later. We found a whirlpool bath that didn't work and when we went to notify reception... oh surprise!!, there was no phone to notify them either. The television was very very basic without internet or the possibility of accessing personal Netflix accounts, it was poorly screwed to the wall... if we had moved it it was very possible that it would have broken into pieces on the floor. Everything up to that point could have been things that a good service could have alleviated, but when we told reception about these incidents they were just excuses and they told us that if the previous guests don't notify them they can't do anything since they are rooms that are not usually booked. EXACTLY!!! They are suites that cost 180 euros a night and they should take special care of them. In short, VERY DISAPPOINTED. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
