"The hotel is right next to the Nanla River, and the environment is lovely. It's both the starting and ending point for the Nanla River rafting. You can walk right out of the hotel to the Manlong Village market, and just a bit further, there's a huge dragon fruit field. The breakfast felt outsourced; not much variety and pretty standard. There aren't many dining options nearby. If you're coming for Wangtianshu Scenic Area and rafting, I'd recommend staying here. The cleanliness is acceptable, and the front desk staff are quite friendly and helpful!"

Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort, overlooking the Luosuo River, is an inviting heaven for those seeking a breath-taking natural sanctuary or a discovery of the ancient culture that shaped this region of Asia. Anantara Xishuangbanna’s refined luxury provide an indulgent backdrop for explorations through China’s oldest and largest botanical garden, diverse ethnic tribal villages, and hillside tea plantations that produce the world-renowned Pu’er tea.
"Honestly, the Anantara hotel service doesn't live up to its price. Throughout the entire hotel, the most enthusiastic and attentive staff weren't the front desk or the waitstaff, but rather the shuttle drivers (quick to respond, thoughtful, and thorough). The front desk service was, frankly, a bit cold and robotic (perhaps it's the difference between members and non-members). All the complimentary activities had very limited time slots and few options, so all the included benefits went to waste (for example, the spa's hours were from 1 PM to 6 PM, which is exactly when you'd be out exploring, right? After visiting the botanical garden, there was no time to come back and relax. The bar also closed quite early. Given it's a resort hotel and the surroundings are quite remote, I suggest they adjust the timings). Furthermore, the Chinese restaurant wasn't very good, and it was expensive. Breakfast was also very average (I recommend the Dai cuisine restaurant near the hotel; it's good value for money and within walking distance). Perhaps because the room was close to the river, the duvet felt a bit damp. The absolute most frustrating thing was when I asked housekeeping for an extra duvet, they replied: 'The hotel has no more duvets, only blankets.' That was truly a bit speechless-inducing. Upon checkout, I didn't receive their elephant plush toy, which I assume is also a member privilege. Non-members probably aren't entitled to it. In summary, I was quite disappointed, though perhaps my expectations were too high. The advantages are that the rooms are spacious, the hotel is beautiful and very Thai in style, and it's within walking distance of the botanical garden."

"The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is about 50 kilometers from Jinghong city. Its East and West sections are quite large, and a full day isn't enough to explore everything. I'd read stories about botanists from the Academy before, so I made the botanical garden a priority and decided to stay at a hotel within it. The room rate I booked online included entrance tickets, which made it a pretty good deal for two people. After our rental car arrived at the East Gate, I called the hotel front desk, and they allowed us to enter. On the afternoon of our arrival, we explored the larger East Section's rainforest, which offered a stunning view of various rainforest vegetation. The hotel's restaurant was quite good; the local dishes at dinner were authentic, and I even saw family gatherings of XTBG staff – quite a change from how their predecessors lived! The next morning, we hired a guide and toured the different areas of the West Section. All in all, choosing to stay at the botanical garden hotel made this trip incredibly rewarding. Facilities: The in-room facilities met our needs, and the small balcony offered views of the flora and fauna. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: The botanical garden environment is unique and relaxing. Service: The front desk and restaurant service were excellent, and the breakfast offered a good variety, including local specialty snacks."

"It is undoubtedly the best hotel in Mengla. It is worth mentioning that among so many hotels in the world, this is also the hotel with the best service and the most popular service. Manager Zhang of the hotel contacted me a week in advance and added WeChat, saying that he could provide a series of services and help. Of course, other hotels also have this kind of advance communication service. One day in advance, Manager Zhang arranged a room for me and kindly reminded me if I had any needs. It felt that service was really supreme. He was still replying to my WeChat in the middle of the night to explain the situation of the nearby scenic spots. After arriving at the hotel, Manager Zhang came out to greet us in person, politely, and sent us to the room. He left after making arrangements. After checking in, Manager Zhang booked a package for the Wangtian Tree, which was cheaper than the scenic spot. During the stay, you can say WeChat at any time and solve it immediately. It is much better than those large five-star mechanized services and has more warmth. The hotel is very new in all aspects, the bedding is comfortable, it is a five-star standard, the room size is suitable, and it is not crowded for two large and two small people. "You get what you pay for; there were no downsides. The front desk staff were incredibly professional, explaining everything clearly about dining and transportation. Our taxi ride from the station cost 80 yuan, but the return trip, following their advice, only cost 30 yuan. The food was the freshest local farm-style cuisine. Of all the places in Xishuangbanna, Wangtianshu was the most satisfying and highly recommended. My dad didn't even go to Wangtianshu the next day; he just enjoyed the view from the hotel. He also felt the trip was worthwhile."
