"Hot spring hotel in an area renowned for its hot springs. I deliberately chose the Japanese tatami-style to experience more of the local culture. As you can see from the photos, the view from my room was really nice! I also like the fact that both dinner and breakfast were included, as there isn't much around. Very comfortable stay overall, but mind you - the smell of sulphur (possibly?) from the hot springs is always there!"

"I'm glad there's a hot spring and it's free to use. There's a coin laundry service. Everything on the breakfast buffet was delicious. I was glad they had chicken rice. I didn't get to try the ice cream or shaved ice, so I'd like to try those next time. The food at the restaurant was delicious, but I'm not sure how they serve the entire course meal in afternoon tea format. It would be nice if they offered more non-alcoholic drinks than just juices. It would be nice if they had more non-alcoholic cocktails. There's nothing nearby, but it's convenient because there's a decent selection of souvenirs. The bus to Kagoshima Airport is also a plus. I'd love to stay here again."

"Our stay at Kirishima Onsen Ryokojin Sanso was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is beautifully situated on a hill and easily accessible by car. The spacious rooms and amazing onsen facilities were impressive, especially the private outdoor onsen in the forest, which we enjoyed in the evening when it was dark – a truly phenomenal experience. It was a shame that it rained heavily on our first day, but perhaps because of that, we were able to check in earlier than expected, which allowed us to relax comfortably. The day before checking in, the biggest snow fell in the area, and for safety reasons, the century-old cedar courtyard was not allowed to enter, which was a bit regretful.
