Charming Stay in the Heart of Zhujiajiao Our one-night stay at Shiyuan Inn was truly wonderful. Located right inside Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, it’s a perfect place to spend the night if you want to soak in the atmosphere of this historic water town. Unlike many other modernized hotels in the area, Shiyuan Inn retains the classic charm and traditional interior that reflects the spirit of the old town. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. During our stay, there was a noisy guest in the room above us, and the owner thoughtfully offered us a late check-out the next day so we could get some extra rest — a gesture we truly appreciated. Breakfast was included and lovingly prepared by the owner himself. It was simple yet heartwarming, and we got to enjoy it at the back of the inn with a peaceful river view. Just perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay overnight in Zhujiajiao and experience a more authentic side of the town.

Really nice homestay in the heart of Zhujiajao ancient town. It's a small house with just a few rooms. While the lady speaks English, her husband communicated by translator app with me. The riverside rooms really have a nice view. The ancient town can be discovered by walking. To Shanghai center it's about 75 minutes by subway or taxi. The room included a nice breakfast. I preferred this homestay over any hotel in Shanghai. The area is so nice, it's a Chinese version of Venice, Italy. During sunny days, after 9am the narrow streets will be crowded by (mainly Chinese) tourists.

The stay is pretty decent. The room is pretty clean as well and its close to the scenic area. Would definitely stay there again.

The family managing this hotel is so kind and friendly. They gave us great information and what to visit in the city and also indicated us good restaurants to eat. The breakfast was delicious as well. The owner even drove us to the metro station the next day. Many thanks again🙏🏻😊

beautiful space and excellent location (not too far from the entry). you can rest in their courtyard or sit in the backyard next to the river watching the buzzling of the old china has to offer whilst sipping the chinese tea. to top it off, the owner hospitality is beyond! top star. definitely will recommend to friends and families x

Best location in the area. Hospitality from the host is memorable. We enjoyed sitting by the river sipping tea in front of the Homestay for long long time. It’s worth every cents. Highly recommend if it becomes available. It’s a real gem. If we can, we will definitely visit this place again.

Clean place, good location, awesome view, and nice service.

Lovely location close to the centre of the historic town. Very clean room with all facilities. View from our room was across the water to the temple. Seating outside to relax early morning or evening, watching the boats go by or the lights come on. Very welcoming and received well. Will be back again.

Perfect location, very friendly, accommodating staff. The room doesn't actually have a view of the river, so the name is misleading. Also, the shower overflowed, soaking the whole bathroom. Overall, you're paying for the location. The room itself is nothing special.

I loved this place! The hotel is located in a nice and quiet street in the middle of Zhujiajiao. Staff was wonderful! They were very nice and helpful. And the room was incredibly clean and comfortable! I highly recommend to stay in this place when visiting Zhujiajiao, it was the best!

This guesthouse is located along the canal and has a coffee shop on the first floor. There was a vacancy on the day, so they changed us to a river view room on the second floor. The room had a retro lighting and windows, which was very nice. The breakfast we had on the terrace along the canal was gently seasoned and delicious. We could hear the sounds of morning prayers from the temple across the river, which was surprising as it sounded like hymns rather than sutras, but that was also nice. We took a taxi to the nearby area on the way there, but since we didn't have much luggage on the way back, we took a boat from the nearby Hojobashi Bridge back to the subway station. The weather was good, so we were able to see the townscape along the canal. The location was also good and convenient. The owner also had a lovely smile and was very kind. Thank you very much.

The innkeeper is very nice and helpful. He called to help with the luggage before the car arrived (because the hotel is in Zhujiajiao, vehicles cannot enter, but it is only a 1-minute walk to the hotel, so it is not a problem to carry the luggage in). I heard that the breakfast cooking is also first-class. We also like the room, which has a great river view. There is a temple opposite. When the Buddha bell rings, the body and mind can be purified. The whole is antique. There are tea sets in the room. My son learned how to pour tea and taste tea for his father. Haha, the quiet and beautiful scenery at night and the son tasting tea are perfect. The hotel is in a very good location. It is at one end of Zhujiajiao (I think, haha), and you can walk around the entire Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in a very comprehensive way and taste all the delicacies! Finally, we returned to the inn at night. The owner arranged a table by the river next to the inn entrance. We sat by the river, charcoal-burning teapots, savoring tea, eating some snacks from shopping in Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, and chatting with our family. That moment was really life~ I really want to freeze the time and enjoy this feeling of comfort and forgetfulness. This was also the last night of our family of 4's trip to Shanghai, and it ended perfectly. Thank you!

The room is not as big as the pictures online, but there is a small terrace to make up for it. The view is better on the second floor, where you can see the lake and the temple opposite. The facilities and soundproofing of the B&B are definitely not comparable to those of a hotel, but overall it is not bad.

It is recommended to stay for one night to see the night view and Zhujiajiao in the morning. It is very quiet. The boss also invited us to drink tea. Thank you boss! The famous homestay is converted from an old house, but it is very clean and the facilities are new.
