Having been to Skiathos before, we decided to stay near to town this time. We chose Princess House due to its proximity to town. What a great find! The bar is run by a lovely lady called Lisa who was very polite and accommodating and made great lunches. The gardens are spacious and immaculately kept and there were plenty of tables and chairs under the trees for shade. Sunbeds - there's one for everyone so no need to put towels down at dawn! Each pair of beds has a table and an umbrella. The pool was big enough to swim in and again, very clean and well kept. There are only 11 rooms and ours (5) had a lovely view of the gardens and pool. They were cleaned daily to a high standard, the bedding and towels changed regularly and the bathroom kept very clean. There was enough cutlery and crockery for 2 people and a toaster. There's a supermarket and an ATM within a couple of minutes walk, a further 5 minutes takes you right into the new port with it's many shops, bars and restaurants. Would we go again? Absolutely!

What a lovely little 11 room hotel. Swimming pool and gardens are beautiful. Proper wooden sun-beds with padded cushions LISA is a little gem. Happy, smiley and nothing is too much trouble. Very close to Skiathos Town. Rooms cleaned okay, beds always made. Fluffy towels. If you want a chilled out pool vibe this is the place. Only downside on the main road from airport so at times a little noisy. Would I stay again … maybe … quite high price for a week. But since my last visit to the island it has become busier and more expensive. Looking forward to the rest of our stay here.

The gardens and grounds are lovely. Tables under the trees for shade. Pool is great, would have preferred just a little bit colder. Great little bar and snack bar run by Liss who couldn't do enough for you. Proper sunbeds rather than canvas on metal frame. All matresses changed for brand new ones while we were there. The rooms were typically small Greek studios but manageable with a little thought. Cleaned every day except Sunday. Towels were fluffy and looked new. Bathroom updated with good shower. Very good aircon, safe and good wifi included in the price. Now for the only downside. As someone else mentioned, the kitchen equipment left a lot to be desired. Strictly 2 of everything, all mismatched, a big bowl and a little bowl, glasses etc. We had one normal fork and one childs fork. No bread board, no bread knife, no tea towel. However these were minor, if unnecessary irritations in what was a very nice stay in nice surroundings. Conveniently located for a large supermarket, bus stop and just over 5 mins to centre.

Perhaps a little dated but the rooms are big enough, nice balcony on studio apartments. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Cleaned, and beds made everyday. Lovely pool and sun bed area. Drinks and food available all day. Lisa is available all day to help and serve you. A lovely lady. Admittedly close to busy road but if you come from busy area you won't notice it. Very close to town, an easy walk to all the restaurants, bars and wonderful shops. On the Island bus route too. Very convenient.

Just arrived home after a fabulous two weeks at Princess House. Although the accommodation is basic, we were in a studio, it was very clean and the beds comfortable. The only negative was lack of kitchen equipment, although we ate out most nights, we did eat in a couple of times and we only had 1 dinner plate and two bowls but we managed. The pool area is kept spotless and gardens are beautifully maintained by Nico . Lots of lovely shrubs and trees. The pool bar was run by the lovely Lisa who worked tirelessly every day serving drinks, cooking and serving snacks and meals. She always had a smile and time to chat with the guests. It is a very friendly place to stay as there are only 11 apartments, all the guests got to know each other round the pool. The accommodation also benefits from free air con, WiFi and safety deposit boxes

After reading the reviews on this hotel I was a little anxious about staying here but it’s not all as bad as some people say. Yes, the rooms could be updated and cleaned better but the beds were clean (few holes in the covers) and air-con worked. Our net curtains were stained with no idea what (didn’t want to get too close lol) and our shower head holder was broken meaning we had to hold the shower. The dirt on the floor seemed to be pushed into corners. You never had to fight for a sun-bed, plenty always free. People complained they were dirty but the ones we used were fine. You can see marks on some but it’s just from suncream and sweat. Staff members were completely friendly expect for the cleaner kicking us out our room at 9:30 when our coach transfer didn’t come till 11am and was raining. Check out was 11 but language barrier was an issue so we just quickly packed and left. The walk into main town is less than 10 minutes and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to visit. Loads of trips available and hire of transport. Really easy to get the bus also. One of my favourite Greek islands. Definitely would visit the island again but stay in a different hotel. Also, check in is at pool bar!! I only knew this from reading reviews

Great Location for easy access into Skiathos town. On arrival, pouring down rain at 10.30 at night, no -one to meet us or any signs of where to go, fortunately a couple coming back to there room, helped us, husband walked around the building to find a room with a key in it (yay) we used that room which was ours anyway. Lots of conversations with Jet2 and the rep for the house next day.. Room was adequate for self catering, but no tea towel. Pool & gardens well looked after, mattresses on pool beds disgusting, dirty, never taken in when rained, couldnt use next day!!! Room- floor never swept or mopped, had to ask for change of bedding and towels, never dusted once, toilet not cleaned, blood stain on net curtains and were filthy at the bottom. This place should be great but its very tired and in need of TLC. Shouldn't be rated 3 stars at the moment. We were very disappointed overall.

We had a wonderful week at Princess House! As other reviewers say, the highlight of this place was Mira, who was warm, friendly, welcoming, a brilliant cook and hostess, and, best of all, happy to share her beautiful ginger kitten Kurt with us. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, and the very short walk to town made everything easy. The grounds and pool area were beautifully kept and we had several blissful days round the pool playing with Kurt and eating Mira’s delicious lunches when we weren’t sightseeing. We hope to come back next year!

4 night short break and the location was perfect for us, exactly where we wanted to be close to Skiathos town. Studio on second floor was adequate and comfortable, but the range of cutlery was disappointing. Would have been struggling to cook much in there. Lovely outlook from the balcony. Everything was a little dated though. Cleaning poor, only one towel replaced and basin and toilet not cleaned. Floors not mopped, shower mat in bathroom wasn’t moved from where we left it! On check out day the cleaner was hammering on the door at 945 demanding we got out in 5 minutes - my partner politely pointed out check out was not until 11! On arrival there is no sign or indication as to where to check in. A small sign on the gate to identify the property, and on entry if you follow the welcome sign you end up at the back of the property. Check in is at the pool bar - we did have a short wait as the excellent host Mira does everything herself - cooking, serving and check in. Mattresses on pool beds were disgusting and stained, wicker furniture rotten and breaking, wooden furniture with broken slats by the gazebo. Everything had an air of generally worn out and lack of care - customers pay a lot to holiday and deserve management to make some investment in return! Pool however excellent and the grounds lovely. Food at pool bar superb and really good value for money! Overall comfortable but lacking find detail and care and attention. Oh, and before anyone raises cost issue - this accommodation for May next year is more expensive than the Avaton.
