This city, this courtyard, this grand hall… they all gave me unexpected surprises. The City: I used to pass through it every time I went to and from school decades ago, but this was my first time actually staying there. It’s a clean, welcoming city, full of life and local charm. The Stay: They call it a small courtyard, but it’s actually quite large… a classic 'Siheyuan' (quadrangle courtyard). I was amazed to find many Southern plants and fruit trees thriving here, which shows how much effort the owner put in. Entering the guest room was even more surprising; the ceiling must be over 3 meters high. The room is spacious and incredibly airy, and it even has a separate living room – truly luxurious! The Surroundings: It happened to be during the Dragon Boat Festival, so it was bustling with activity. It was my first time seeing a live shadow puppet show! 😀 And of course, I have to mention the warm and helpful owner. My trip was a last-minute decision and quite rushed, but the owner enthusiastically answered all my numerous questions. Especially when I had to check out spontaneously at 5 AM, there was an issue with my car leaving the parking lot, and the owner resolved it immediately. I felt quite bad for bothering them so early…

Bean sprout is a traditional building with rooms off a courtyard.  The owner and rosewood chairs with cushions warmly welcome you.  Communicate is via translator apps. The beds remind me of ikea furnishings with a larger lower bed than the upper twin.  The owner organized a very interesting day trip for me to the mts with Buddhas and Danxia colorful earth The women with me communicated via app with German, French and Italian as well as English. Sadly, I caught a cold from the lack of heat for two hours in both directions with the van transport which had very good chairs.  The following day the owner helped me realize I had another day to stay and offered to order me breakfast and later a local noodle dish.  She also explained to my hotel receptionist how to ship my pj’s to me!  I can’t thank her and her husband enough for their hospitality.

This hotel truly exceeded all my expectations! The property is brand new, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with everything you might need. What made my stay unforgettable was the incredibly kind and attentive staff. When my skin became dry and flaky, I asked if they could help me buy some lotion — and to my surprise, one of the staff members kindly offered his own personal lotion for me to use during my stay. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated. On top of that, the food was quite decent, and they even offered free laundry and garment bags, which made everything so convenient. Honestly, if I could give this hotel 1,000 stars, I would. Highly recommended — you won’t regret staying here!

This was the most surprising and also the cheapest hotel of my Qinghai-Gansu trip. I originally planned to stay in Zhangye, but I was so tired from traveling all day that I just wanted to find a place near the sights and rest immediately after exploring. The pictures online looked decent, but the room was unexpectedly spacious! What really impressed me was the amazing service from the owner and his wife! This was the best night's sleep I had on the entire trip! This positive review is specifically for the owner and his wife.

The hotel is very close to the scenic area entrance, and there's plenty of parking, which is great for self-driving. The staff are friendly and responsive, and it's very quiet, perfect for a good rest. There are lots of restaurants nearby, so you have plenty of choices. They even offer self-service car washing facilities, which is a really thoughtful touch! Big thumbs up! 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻

The room was clean, tidy, and odorless. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The front desk staff were warm and provided thoughtful service. The location is convenient for getting around. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and the value for money was outstanding. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next trip. I booked a temporary hotel due to a temporary change of itinerary. I was pleasantly surprised. It is located in a park. Each room is separate and private. The car can be parked in front of the room, which is convenient for taking things. The starry sky at midnight is beautiful, and the surroundings are also beautiful. The price-performance ratio is really high. The toothbrush and comb are actually made of bamboo.

The service attitude is very good, the room is clean and sanitary.

Zhangye was great fun!! Amenities: The facilities are complete! They have everything! The TV can cast to other devices. Cleanliness: It was clean! Environment: The environment was nice, and the curtains were blackout. The only minor drawback was that it wasn't very soundproof. On the night I stayed, other guests checked into the room next door, and they were talking loudly late into the night. I could hear their conversation from my room. Wearing earplugs would solve it. Service: The aunt and uncle (staff) were very nice and hospitable! They resolved any issues I had~

Great and unique hotel. Very comfortable “glamping.” Location is about a mile or 20 min walk from the Shandan Army farm. Breakfast start at 8am which is a bit late since the Shandan horse walk in the morning is between 7-9am, which means you would really want to have breakfast around 6:45am. So we were not able to have breakfast and there’s also nothing to eat inside the horse farm. Other than that, overall good experience. I would recommend. Also note you need to buy water here which is unusual for hotels, normally hotels give you unlimited bottles of water.
