I booked this hotel 8 months ago to go to the Oktoberfest in Stuttgart, which we go to every year. I had never stayed in this hotel before, but the location and price seemed fine. We booked 4 double rooms with breakfast, 8 months in advance. To my surprise, today they wrote to me saying that the hotel is closed for maintenance and that we have two options: cancel (15 days before the fair with the flights purchased, the tents, etc.) or relocate us to another hotel that is 7 km from the centre. I find it shameful, when they know that those dates are high season because of the fair and, on top of that, they notify you 15 days in advance. For me, my relationship with Rega and the Novum chain has ended. These situations should be rewarded, just like the airlines do. Either they look for alternatives in nearby hotels even if they are not part of their group, or pay for the transport or get a considerable discount on the other hotel they offer, which is 7 km from the city centre. Shameful!
