Ueno Station Hostel Oriental 2(Men Only)

Very close to Ueno Station, downstairs is a bustling commercial street, convenient for eating, drinking and having fun all day long. The guy at the front desk speaks fluent English and the communication is smooth. The capsule is average, just a place to sleep. Check-out time is 11am.

A relatively affordable capsule hotel, with convenient transportation and prosperity around, and not far from Akihabara. The hotel facilities are OK, the beds are relatively clean, and each bed is equipped with a TV to watch local programs. There are special rest areas, washing areas and dining areas, and even a great large bath. You can get a small towel and casual clothes when you check in, and larger bath towels are charged extra. You cannot wear shoes inside the hotel at all, and you need to leave your shoes at the front desk. Every time you go out, you have to ask the front desk staff to get the key (some staff cannot communicate in English), which is a bit troublesome. The room is not soundproofed, and you can clearly hear other people's snoring (a common problem of capsules). When you lie down on the lower bed, you can hear some sounds from the game hall downstairs (although it will not be open until late, it did wake me up when I was testing the sound in the morning). Overall, it is still OK for backpackers to sleep at night and go out in the morning, and the large bath is really good.

The room is located in the city center, very convenient, 24-hour service, but the trouble is that when going out, you have to take out your passport every time because there is a shoe rack in the room. The bathroom is only one room. The shower room is an onsen. The water is very hot. There are facilities for washing your face and brushing your teeth, a hair dryer, a washing machine, and a sleeping area. There is hot water for eating instant noodles.

Even in the center of Tokyo, the cost of staying in a capsule hotel is rising, so it felt like a great deal to be able to stay at this price in a location close to Ueno Station. There is also a large public bath, so you can relax and unwind after a long day of travel. I would like to use this facility again.
