Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro

The front desk said they upgraded my room, and it felt really great! It's super convenient with lots of food options nearby, and transportation is easy too — just a few minutes' walk to the railway. Highly recommend, I'll definitely be back!

The room was pretty good, and the location was excellent. It's very close to Ikebukuro Station, which is super convenient. The room was quite spacious, and we had no problem opening two 28-inch suitcases. The hotel breakfast was also good.

If you love shopping, this is absolutely the hotel for you! Carrying all those shopping bags can be exhausting, but staying here means you can drop them off at the hotel and head right back out for more retail therapy 🛍️. You can even get to the mall through the hotel's back entrance without needing an umbrella – even if it's raining, you'll only be wet for the distance of one street crossing. The best part is the direct airport limousine bus service that stops right at the hotel entrance. Anyone familiar with the Tokyo subway knows the value of not having to drag luggage up and down stairs. There are so many malls nearby. Honestly, just Tobu Department Store alone is enough to keep you busy for at least three days, let alone all the other options. Everything you could possibly need is right here.

Location: Very close to Ikebukuro West Exit, near Lumine and Tobu Department Store. It's also convenient to cross Ikebukuro Station to shop in Ikebukuro East. The Yamanote Line makes it easy to get to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Akihabara, and Ginza, all within 20-30 minutes. Cleanliness: I'd give it a 90. The room was cleaned daily. Service: Excellent! Check-in and check-out were very quick. Even more convenient, you can buy airport bus tickets directly at the hotel, and the bus picks you up right outside. An Indian staff member even helped with luggage. I specifically chose this hotel with an airport bus stop because I bought a lot of large items this trip. It's worth mentioning that in the early hours of August 23rd (late evening on the 22nd), there was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in Tokyo. Being on the 16th floor, the shaking was quite severe and lasted for nearly 2 minutes. The in-room broadcast gave earthquake warnings three times, each in four languages! However, because there wasn't a stronger tremor, apart from informing us that the elevators were stopped and to stay away from windows, we weren't asked to evacuate to the ground. The emergency exits were also not activated. It was a terrifying night!

The staff were very attentive and quick to respond to requests. The room was spacious, the bathroom area was clean, and all amenities were well-stocked. There's a shopping area right downstairs, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient.

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro was perfect for travel! It's just a 1-minute walk directly from Ikebukuro Station, and the Yamanote Line makes getting to Shinjuku and Ueno super convenient. The rooms were clean and spacious, with great views from the higher floors, and all the amenities were well-stocked. The front desk service was attentive, and communication in English was smooth. Downstairs, the commercial area offers plenty of dining and shopping options. The convenient location and high comfort level make it my top choice for Tokyo. I'll definitely stay here again! There's a very popular and affordable sushi restaurant right near the back exit, and the quality is excellent.

This hotel is conveniently located in the business district, and easily accessible directly from the airport via the Ikebukuro Line. Dining and shopping options are plentiful around the hotel, and subway access is excellent. The room was decent; typical for Japan, hotels are generally small. The breakfast was very generous. The service was quite good, and most requests were accommodated.
