Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa

I'll start off with the positives and there were a lot! The hotel is located next to the train station which is huge for easily getting around town. There are several 7 elevens on premises so that was nice after long days or just needing to grab a snack. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and they brought us two bottles of complimentary champagne which was so nice. The hotel staff was wonderful and everyone was super friendly. Now the hotel itself needs a remodel the interior in the rooms were not 5 star rooms they badly need to be updated. The bed frames were all frayed and the walls were badly marked up but it was very clean. It was a little weird that it was an additional Charge to use the pool? I've never seen that before and thought it was sort of absurd. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and I hope they remodel soon because I'd love everything about this hotel if they would just bring their rooms up to 5 star quality.

This is my most frequent stayed hotel in Tokyo. Location is perfect, just a few mins walk from the Shinagawa Station. There is also a hotel shuttle bus that takes you to the Prince Hotel that is across the street from the station if you have a lot of luggage. I particularly like the private Japanese garden of the Hotel, it is very rare in hotels in Tokyo where land prices are high. Room size is also big (comparatively as most hotel rooms are smaller in Tokyo).

The room is very dated. They need to renovate. The garden is nice and balcony is nice. Location is also very good and near the subway station

The hotel lobby is grand with nice design and details. We went during cherry blossom peak season and Shinagawa area hotel seems more affordable compare with those in the heart of the city. Taking around 1 hour Narita express direct form airport to Shinagawa and walk for 10 mins to hotel. All together we stayed in this hotel 5 nights in 2 different room type in this trip. For this twin room, the room is big in Tokyo area with a small balcony. There is a working table and a small sofa for you to rest. Room is clean and hotel provided a lot of daily used stuff for us. They even provide bath salt which is the first time we see in Japan hotel. Bathroom is a bit old yet still clean. There is a garden that you can access direct from the hotel called "Takanawa Mori No Park". if you are staying in this hotel, can talk a bit of time to visit there. We went in April and we saw pretty sakura trees and the garden is well maintained and its a good spot for photos.

Good location just few mins walk to Shinagawa train station, can see Tokyo Tower if you get the room facing that direction

It’s near to JR Shinagawa Station and Shinkansen which is the main reason of me staying there for a smooth transfer to Osaka via Shinkansen within walking distance with all my luggage! Save time and hassle of squeezing in trains to get to Shinkansen station
