Toronto is expensive, especially if you don't have a chance to book too far in advance. But I'm afraid I can't recommend this place. I gave 1/5 for amenities, but this should have been 0 because there were no amenities. There was no front desk. The room was a white cube -- they said they'd given me a "really good room," but this just meant that there was construction going on like 9am-7pm every day, like six inches away from my tiny window. The bed was so uncomfortable I felt like I was developing arthritis. Other guests included a guy who showered (in the shared bathroom) for a full hour every morning and evening; a mother-son duo in town for the Rod Stewart concert (who screamed at each other up and down the hallway for 3 hours while getting ready); and countless people sitting on heaps of towels in the hallway either screaming into their phone or watching videos (on speaker phone, naturally). Every door said NO SMOKING OR VAPING (in addition to the crazy number of prohibitions listed on the front door). Still, the entire place reeked like ********* 24/7.
It's nice that my week here cost less than $2,000. Still, if you're on a budget and the weather is good, I would recommend spending your Toronto stay either in a tent pitched in a park, or even in a cardboard box in an alleyway. Either would be preferable to this place.

Really good if you want to be near to places such as China Town or Downtown Toronto. But the place kinda feels like a college dormitory

The bathroom and room is so clean. But the bed is not so sturdy.

The hotel is well located and very clean, which is appreciated. However, I had a bad experience during my stay. At 4:20 AM, some suspicious people knocked on my door, waking me up. I also heard them knocking on other doors in the hallway. It was disturbing and ruined part of my experience. A shame, because the hotel has potential...

You’re in for a shocking time.
Never have I experienced more electric shocks in a place I’ve stayed before. Every touch was a shock.
But what shocked me the most was the shocking lack of amenities on offer. Nothing is provided except two towels.
We upgraded our room at electrifying speed. How you ask? When we arrived we were told that to put our bags in the room early we’d need to pay, and were told we should upgrade our room to one with a private bathroom. This was all well and good, however it did feel like the price was made up spot, a spark of the attendants imagination one might say.
The attendant then came back that night to collect the money. We informed her that the room was shocking. We were told it was “electro magnetic blanket”, as such we asked for a new one, and got the “ok I’ll be back” ~ needless to say she never returned.
The next few days were a myriad of house people energetically arguing. Doors slamming, beds scratching and fights magnanimously occurring at all hours of the night, quite impressive really.
It’s not all bad. There was a cooler and microwave to hand if needed and the apartment is close to the shops and downtown.
Would I stay again, probably not?
Overall I guess 1.3/10? Bit hard to recommend, but at least I wasn’t sleeping outside? Overall just a bit shocking really.

It has a big discount on the app so I booked it. When I checked in, the lady offered me for a change. I regret for not changing and stayed in the basement. Cons-Ichty blanket, Loud sounds of washing machine, someone is working upstairs 24/7 banging the floors even during midnight and dawn I can hear foodsteps working. the bed is pruducing plenty of squicky sounds. I was not able to rest and been restless for 2 nights in there. Its a chaos. But what else I can do.

The staff were able to serve my late night check in. They provided a free upgrade!
The room was big enough with a private bath.
AC was on during the summer, though there were no controls.
The room was not equipped with many kitchen basics.
