Archway Motels & Chalets ★★★★

📍 64 Hedditch Street, Wanaka

"We stayed at a motel in Wanaka. The owner was very welcoming during check-in, explaining the surroundings and the supermarket's location, which made us feel right at home. The room facilities were great, and both the bathroom and kitchen were spacious. So we bought some groceries and cooked a delicious dinner. Overall, it was a good experience. Recommended!"

"The cabin is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and really comfortable! The views are amazing from the cabin windows - we were blown away and didn’t want to leave!!"

Edgewater Hotel
9.0 (439 reviews)

Edgewater Hotel ★★★★

📍 Sargood Drive, Wanaka

"Facilities: The selected suite had excellent facilities, including cooking amenities, a dishwasher, and a washer-dryer combo. Service: I stayed for two nights, and it's clearly a very popular place. On the first night, I was assigned room 301, which, as shown in the picture, had a corner window directly facing the parking lot. The next morning, I spoke with the front desk attendant about changing rooms. Since they were fully booked, I was eventually moved to room 703, which faced a small pond. They even left a thoughtful card and some chocolates. Overall, the hotel environment was good. It's a short walk to the Lone Tree and an acceptable distance from the town center."

📍 217 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road, Wanaka

"The room is in the mountain bathing and the bathroom is in the outdoor public area. You can see the super beautiful starry sky at night. It is worth staying here for one or two nights. It is very secluded and unique."

Wanaka Hotel
9.0 (146 reviews)

Wanaka Hotel ★★★

📍 71 Ardmore Street, Wanaka

"Booked a room with two beds, but got one with a single bed instead! That's a bit off. Otherwise, it was okay. Good enough for a night's sleep."

Alpine Resort Wanaka THC Hotels and Resorts
8.0 (40 reviews)

Alpine Resort Wanaka THC Hotels and Resorts ★★★★

📍 144/154 Anderson Road, Wanaka

"The room was clean and had almost all the utensils needed for cooking. The living room was spacious and the bathroom was nice. There was a garage that opened and closed automatically, probably because it was winter. However, it was just the right width for a car, so it was a bit difficult to get out of the car. There is nothing around, so it may be inconvenient if you don't rent a car."

West Meadows of Wanaka
9.5 (134 reviews)

West Meadows of Wanaka ★★★

📍 44 Cardrona Valley Road, Wanaka

"The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax and move around. Overall, everything was spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials, making it super convenient to whip up a late-night meal whenever we wanted. While the location isn't right in the heart of the city center, it's just a quick few-minute drive away, so getting around was still incredibly easy and hassle-free. Highly recommend! :)"

Mishika Retreat and Lodge Hotels in Wanaka

Mishika Retreat and Lodge

"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Sanctuary Suite at Mishika Retreat and Lodge for 3 nights in July 2026. Given this accomodation had only opened for approximately 6 weeks, there were limited reviews, so we booked this without much expectations. However, we were incredibly surprised and thus I wanted to be one of the first to leave a full proper review myself. Immediately upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the host, Abhishek, who gave us a tour around the house as well as many tailored suggestions on how to best spend our time in Wanaka, including hikes, places to eat and things to do. We then spent the following days having ongoing wonderful conversations with him and his team as they were always around to be a friendly face, work and have lovely chats. Honestly speaking, this is one of the loveliest accomodations I’ve ever stayed in, to the point that I would happily live here for the rest of my life. Unlike other accomodations which provide the barebones for travel (ie bed, bathroom, amenities and room), it is clear that Abishek and his team have poured their heart and soul into making Mishika Lodge a true “home away from home” experience. As a guest you can choose to rent a room or the entire lodge, but regardless, you have full access to the lounge, dining room, kitchen, entertainment room, garden, hot spa (readily heated to 39C!) and pool, all of which are shared spaces for guests at all times so that you aren’t confined to just relaxing in your room. For instance, you can curl up in front of the fireplace with your book, cast your videos onto the TV, or eat your meal at the kitchen bar like home. Our room itself was extremely comfortable - the bed, pillows, heating, fan, bath were all perfect. In terms of convenience, there is free parking on the property, free use of the washing machine and dryer, and it is only a 3-4 minute walk into city centre. Abhishek would also respond to any questions we had over WhatsApp within minutes which was fantastic. Lastly, one of their workers, Lisa, would typically be around in the mornings in the kitchen to bake fresh goodies for the guests, so it was a delightful surprise to have pancakes in bed (albeit an exception) on one of our mornings! All in all, I felt extremely grateful for the experience we had. It’s an unusual feeling to be so excited / look forward to returning to your accomodation to “enjoy” it after a day of exploring but I certainly felt that way about Mishika! We will return to stay over and over again without a doubt and be recommending it to all friends and family. Thanks again, Fiona & Jordan"

"Great for photos, very close to the lake, the owner was very welcoming, showed us around the house, and recommended restaurants and attractions. A fantastic experience."

Walnut on Russell Hotels in Wanaka

Walnut on Russell

"Walnut on Russel is a home in Wanaka! The lodge is more polished and modern in person than in the photos. It takes 5-8mins walk to the town center. The floor, linens, and cutleries are super clean and tidy. The washing machine and the dryer are also in good condition. Hayley, the manager, is really warm and kind-she even offered to give me a ride to the lakefront bus stop. Staying here definitely has exceeded my expectations!"

"Ctrip didn't give my email address to the store, so I didn't receive the check-in instructions. After consulting other guests, I found out that the key needed to be collected at another store at the entrance of the town. At that time, it happened to be a rush hour, and the road at the entrance was basically impassable. It ended up being a half-hour walk back and forth. Get the key"

Ahurei Apartments Hotels in Wanaka

Ahurei Apartments

"Compared with the net red ederwater, I recommend this apartment, especially the family, with 3 beds, independent garage, everyone can sleep well, 10 minutes walk to the lonely tree attraction, 10 minutes walk from the city, the picture is the front snow mountain landscape, the door is a large lawn, Children can easily let go of themselves, Wanaka has few people, very casual, it is good to slow down for a few days"

Hampshire Holiday Parks – Wanaka ★★★
"This independent studio room within the RV park is quite spacious, and while the soundproofing isn't great, it offers excellent value for money! The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary utensils, including salt and pepper, so you can easily cook your own dinner. It has a private toilet and shower, but only soap is provided, so you'll need to bring your own toiletries. The bed is quite comfortable. We visited in mid-May, and it was very cold, but there was an electric heater and two electric blankets, although one of them wasn't working. There are very few power outlets. You can park your car right in front of the unit. There's a laundry room in another nearby area, costing 6 NZD per wash and 6 NZD for 60 minutes of drying. There's also a communal kitchen. The location is right in the city center, with many restaurants nearby. It's very close to Wanaka Tree and the lake, both within walking distance."

Haka House Wanaka ★★★★
"Wanaka itself isn't a big place, and Haka is considered one of the higher-quality hostels, plus it's very close to the town center. Even during holidays, the cleanliness is consistently good. Unlike the Haka in Queenstown, perhaps because there's more space here, the accommodations are individual buildings, whereas in Queenstown, the entire second floor is dorm rooms. However, there's a gravel path leading up to this Haka, which will definitely test your suitcase wheels! Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk right out to stargaze at night and then quickly hop back into bed."
