Cheer.cheThis hotel isn't in the heart of Lake Wanaka, but it's incredibly comfortable and cozy. It was my favorite hotel during this trip. There's a slight uphill walk from the lake to the hotel, but the residential houses along the way are really charming. There's a small play area that the kids absolutely loved. You can cook your own meals, and the bathroom even has underfloor heating. The owner is Chinese, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend it!

The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax and move around. Overall, everything was spotlessly clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the essentials, making it super convenient to whip up a late-night meal whenever we wanted. While the location isn't right in the heart of the city center, it's just a quick few-minute drive away, so getting around was still incredibly easy and hassle-free. Highly recommend! :)

The front desk staff were warm and friendly. The room was clean, and the kitchen was available for cooking. The surrounding area is very quiet and beautiful. The bed was comfortable, perfect for a relaxing stay in Wanaka.

The location is excellent, very close to the intercity bus station. If you are not driving, I recommend this hotel

Stephen Molloy123We liked being able to walk into the centre, the food trucks across the road, the lovely stream next door, friendly staff, having a kitchenette.
We didn't like the noise from other guests' aircon going all night. It was warm enough, there was no need to run aircon all night.

Guest UserThe room was spacious and very clean, with a small kitchenette and a fridge. The bathroom was also quite large. We were on the ground floor, and outside there was a big yard with a table and chairs where we could sit, sunbathe, and have tea. It's not far from the city center, and the price, which was a little over 700 RMB, was super value for money. Just one thing: when I booked through Ctrip, the deposit deducted was a bit over 729 RMB, which converted to a little over 181 New Zealand Dollars. However, when I actually paid for the room with my credit card at the hotel, it was charged a bit over 185 NZD, which was about 3 NZD more. This extra charge might have been a service fee, so it's something to be aware of when booking in the future – paying with a credit card at the hotel might incur extra fees.

Anonymous UserGreat location with parking, though it can get quite full. It's a short 5-minute walk to the lake, and there's a supermarket right across the street with plenty of restaurants nearby. The room only has a microwave and a fridge; no induction or gas hob, and not many other appliances. The main door is more like a balcony door. Being on the ground floor was fine, but if you're on the second floor, you'll have to carry your luggage up the stairs. All the emails and written notices stated that check-out was at 4 PM, but upon arrival, we were told it was 5 PM. I heard that for after-hours check-in, the key would be in a safe near the front desk. The toiletries provided (hand soap, shampoo, and shower gel) are all honey-scented, which was an interesting experience. The front desk was manned by a kind grandma, and I think I saw a grandpa doing the cleaning.

atiqyahyaI booked this motel quite last minute but i'm glad they still have a unit available for us. we travelled in a group of 5 with my parents, so 2 bedroom is our minimum requirement, no starirs, and since we wanted to cook, having a kitchenette is also an important criteria, and Alpine Motel ticks all the boxes. The motel is very near to Lake Wanaka but we still drove there. Very convenient location and very comfortable. They have a laundry outside the room in case you are already in the middle of your trip and would need a laundry day. We went to the nearest supermarket to shop and cook dinner at the motel. You can park right in front of your unit, very convenient.

GanjingThe hotel is located in Wanaka town, easy to find, and the location is good. It's like a small cabin, quite unique. The overall room is large, warm, and has many beds, making it suitable for families. It's especially quiet at night. However, the hygiene is just average, and the facilities are relatively old. But as a transitional hotel, it's perfectly fine. Overall, it's worth recommending.

It is less than 5 minutes drive from the lonely tree, opposite the winery. There are many RVs parked on the lawn outside the room, which should be a place for RV rest. The bathroom in the room is relatively simple, there is no decent shelf for toiletries, and the cockroach can be placed on the ground.
