An underrated travel gem! A one-day itinerary for the three cities in the Kathmandu Valley~

An underrated travel gem! A one-day itinerary for the three cities in the Kathmandu Valley~

🔶🔶🔶If you only have one day in Kathmandu, we highly recommend visiting the three ancient cities in the valley. You can experience the essence of Nepal's history and culture in just one day! 🌟Recommended itinerary: 📍Morning: Thamel - Patan From Thamel, it's about a 30-minute drive to Patan, known as the "City of Art." Stroll through the city and admire the exquisite architecture. Different cultures collide and blend here, and buildings of different religions stand side by side in harmony. 🎟️Patan ticket: NPR 1,000 📍Noon: Patan - Bhaktapur Next, head to Bhaktapur, known as the "essence of medieval Nepalese art" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The luxury of the Golden Gate, the delicacy of the Palace of 55 Windows, and the grandeur of the Nyatapola Temple are all breathtaking. The tranquil and ancient atmosphere makes it my top pick for the most beautiful city in the valley! 🎟️Bhaktapur ticket: NPR 500 (50% off for Chinese passport holders in 2025) 📍Afternoon: Bhaktapur - Thamel Durbar Square Finally, return to Thamel Durbar Square, where you'll find exquisite temples, palaces, and pagodas. The Kumari Temple is also located here. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Kumari goddess between 4 and 6 pm and receive her blessing. 🎟️Durbar Square ticket: NPR 1,000 💡Tips: 1️⃣Time is tight for a one-day tour, and prices in Nepal are low, so we recommend taking a taxi for efficiency. 2️⃣There are some Nepalese specialties around the ancient cities that you can try, such as dal bhat, momo, and king curd. 3️⃣If you want to take beautiful photos of the ancient cities, the soft light in the early morning or evening is ideal. 4️⃣The air quality in Kathmandu is not great, so remember to bring a mask.

Trishuli River 🛶🇳🇵 Kathmandu

Trishuli River 🛶🇳🇵 Kathmandu

Beautiful scenery, steady rapids and a perfect spot for beginner rafters. The Trishuli River cuts through the mountains with it's emerald green water. The scenery changes throughout the time on the boat from steep rocky mountains to flatter farmland. The rapids on the river were fun, manageable between even our small boatfull and quick in short bursts. Our Guide was very experienced and gave us chances to swim where it was safer and spoke about his country with pride throughout. I'd recommend this rafting trip to groups of friends or those that are new to rafting and want to see what the fuss is about. I got hooked when in Montana and this was my scenic choice of spots to get my wife and best friend in on the action.

Japanese restaurant that serves a huge portion!

#magicalxmastrip #foodiejourney #momotarou The prices may seem steep at first look but the quality and quantity served does justify it. This Momotarou branch at Sanepa is located right at the chowk, the ambience nice and quiet especially if you dine solo and love Japanese food, this is right place for you. My favourites here are the Khabou Don (fish with rice), Butta Don A (Pork with rice), Subutta (sweet and sour pork), Ebi chilly (prawn chilly), Chasumen (soy ramen pork).

One Day, Three Wonders: Uncover Kathmandu's UNESCO Secrets

#summerdestinations During my summer break, I explored the historic treasures of Kathmandu Valley. My journey began in Bhaktapur, where the "City of Devotees" greeted me with its ancient charm. The grandeur of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, with the magnificent Nyatapola Temple and the intricately carved 55-Window Palace, was a highlight of my visit. Secondly, to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the energy of the city was palpable. Surrounded by historic pagodas and palaces, I was particularly fascinated by the boudha, soyambhu monkey temple, home of living goddess, and the detailed artistry of Hanuman Dhoka Palace.I concluded my trip in Patan, a city renowned for its artistic heritage. Patan Durbar Square, with the stunning Krishna Mandir and its intricate stone carvings, left a lasting impression. The seamless blend of Hindu and Buddhist elements in the architecture was truly captivating. Here's a summary based on the Kathmandu UNESCO sites I described: Address: - Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur, Nepal - Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kathmandu, Nepal - Patan Durbar Square, Patan, Nepal Ambiance/Facilities: - Historic squares surrounded by ancient temples, palaces, and courtyards. - Traditional Newar architecture with intricate carvings. - Museums, galleries, and shops offering local handicrafts. - Restaurants and cafes with views of the squares. Highlights: - Nyatapola Temple and 55-Window Palace in Bhaktapur. - Kumari Ghar (home of the living goddess) and Hanuman Dhoka Palace in Kathmandu. - Krishna Mandir and the artistic heritage of Patan. Avg. Price per Person: - Entry fees range from NPR 500 to NPR 1,500 for foreigners, depending on the site. - Additional costs for guides, food, and souvenirs. Rating: - 4.5/5 (Cultural and historical significance, well-preserved architecture, vibrant atmosphere) Getting There: - Bhaktapur: About 13 km east of Kathmandu; accessible by bus, taxi, or private vehicle. - Kathmandu Durbar Square: Located in the heart of Kathmandu; easily accessible by foot, rickshaw, or taxi. - Patan: About 5 km south of central Kathmandu; accessible by bus, taxi, or private vehicle.
