Introduction Volcano Views in Noboribetsu

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Noboribetsu is famous for its rich geothermal resources, and the Noboribetsu volcano is a well-known local landscape. About 10,000 years ago, after the volcanic eruption, the lava cooled and solidified, forming this strange valley. The gray and brown rock layers, plus a lot of geothermal heat erupting from the ground, formed a special volcanic terrain. There are frequent geothermal activities here, and a lot of geothermal heat erupts from the ground, forming a strange sight shrouded in billowing white smoke. Representative viewing spots include the Noboribetsu Hell Valley, which is a crater relic that is still spewing white smoke, with a valley eroded by lava, springs emitting white gas, and flowing springs. In addition, there is the nearby Hiyoriyama Observatory, which is also a good choice for viewing the remains of volcanic activity.

Noboribetsu Onsen is a must-visit, and Takinoya is a must-stay!

Noboribetsu Onsen is a must-visit, and Takinoya is a must-stay!

Recently, I found that many people are planning a trip to Hokkaido in winter. 😉 Noboribetsu is a famous place for hot springs, and hot springs in winter are a perfect match! Before I went, I did some research and found this place, Takinoya, which is simply a paradise on earth, really super beautiful! 😍 🏨 I heard that there are only two rooms with private baths, and they are particularly difficult to book, so I sent an email to book six months in advance, and they replied in a timely manner. This time I stayed in room DW, which is a Japanese-style room with an open-air private bath and breakfast and dinner. The whole room is very large, and I finally experienced a traditional Japanese-style room. 😎 The price is a bit high, 59,700 yen/person (the room is charged per person), but if you have a sufficient budget, listen to me, you must experience it once in your life. 👍 There is a parking space outside the hotel. When we arrived, the staff personally greeted us outside, then took us to the room and introduced us one by one, and then brought the luggage in. The room is very large, and I especially like the open-air private bath, but the smell is a bit strong, after all, it is pure natural hot spring water. 🤔 🍱 The room includes dinner and breakfast, and the waiter will confirm the meal time in advance, and then the meal will be delivered one by one. All meals are served in the room. It was my first time experiencing kaiseki cuisine, which was very delicate and delicious. Breakfast is also confirmed in advance, and they will wake you up when it is ready. 😃 🏡 There is a courtyard outside the room where you can go out to play in the snow and enjoy the snow at any time. ❄ ♨ The open-air hot spring is very comfortable. It's freezing outside, and soaking in the hot spring is so refreshing! 😜 🛏 I slept on a Japanese tatami mat, and the waiter helped me make the bed, which was very warm and comfortable. 🧐 🌋 From here, you can walk to Noboribetsu Hell Valley. Trust me, come here to experience Noboribetsu, you will never regret it! 🤗

Jigokudani (地獄谷)

#celebratewithtrip Jigokudani (地獄谷) or “Hell Valley" is a spectacular, appropriately named valley just above the town of Noboribetsu Onsen, which displays hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It is a main source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters. Amazing to see the power of nature steaming out from the ground. Overall experience is unique and highly recommended to visit this place! #hokkaido #japan #friendstrip #2015

Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley)

Formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Hiyoriyama, this explosion crater has a diameter of approximately 450 meters and an area of about 11 hectares. The valley is dotted with numerous hot spring outlets and steam vents, creating a bubbling, boiling landscape that inspired the name 'Hell where demons reside.' From here, various types of hot springs gush out at a rate of 10,000 tons per day, supplying the hotels and inns in the hot spring town. The 'Demon Fire Path,' a promenade from the entrance of Hell Valley to Tessen Pond, is softly illuminated by lights every night, creating a very magical atmosphere! Access It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Sapporo ● Bus: About 15 minutes from JR Noboribetsu Station to 'Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Terminal,' then about 10 minutes on foot ● Car: About 10 minutes from Noboribetsu Higashi IC on the Dō-Ō Expressway

Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley)

Getting There - Bought a Noboribetsu Area pass and just take a JR train there. There’s direct bus to take you there from the station. Quite a breathtaking sight at Jigokudani and I feel like it’s a must to visit when you’re in Hokkaido. However, please take note that it’s quite dangerous to visit during winter as the slopes are slippery. Do not recommend to bring along elderly during winter. There’s also some restaurant and a bear park nearby for you to visit after visiting Jigokudani. 👍🏻 #noboribetsu #hokkaido #hokkaidotravel #japan

Jigokudani (Hell Valley)

#japantrip Breathtaking scenery with easy trails. it was not very busy for an afternoon weekday. The footpath can seem a little far but it is worth it! The river stones were a beautiful color. It’s a nice tourist attraction. Has a bit of foul smell but it’s from the sulfur, don’t stay too long in one spot but definitely come! It’s nice 🥰 it’s free though! And you can also go for a nice walk to a nearby lake!
