#christmasmarket we drove from barcelona to noël barcarès by car, about 2 hours, and it felt like teleport to full-on winter fairytale (^▽^)ﾉ huge christmas village with rides, lights, music and a lot of food. there’s a ferris wheel, roller coaster–type rides, an ice rink and tons of other attractions, so it works both for kids and adults who still like a bit of adrenaline. between the rides you can warm up with vin chaud, grab churros and try proper mont d’or cheese melted over potatoes — very cozy and very french. around the park there are christmas chalets with souvenirs and tree decorations, plus an official shop if you want something branded from the village. good place to pick up a couple of cute ornaments before driving back. practical bit (｡•‿•)っ kids under 5 go in for free; from 5 years old tickets are 5 € online (7 € on site), so it’s worth booking ahead on the official site. dates for 2025–2026 season are 29 november–4 january, usually from late morning until after midnight. nice plan for one day: barcelona → roadtrip to barcarès → rides + ice rink + mont d’or + lights → sleepy drive back with car full of christmas smells (╹◡╹) #noelbarcares #villagedenoel #france #barcares #christmasmarket #winterfair #frombarcelona #roadtrip #ferriswheel #icerink #rollercoaster #montdor #vinchaud #churros #familyfriendly #kidsfriendly #christmaslights #souvenirs #daytrip #europe #tripcom

Was looking up some unique themed stays for a future trip and came across these two pirate hotels. Completely different vibes, but both caught my eye. First is Kapitan Pirat in Poland. It’s a budget-friendly spot right near the beach. It’s got a very chill, independent guesthouse feel with just 12 rooms. There’s a shared kitchen and a game room. The pirate murals are actually quite clean and not too over-the-top. Honestly, for the price, it’s pretty worth it if you just want a quiet coastal getaway. Then there’s Hôtel Cap Pirate in France. This one is a massive 4-star resort. It has its own water park, luxury suites with kitchens, and live pirate shows. It’s highly immersive but feels very commercial. My verdict? The Polish one is much more my style—simple, relaxed, and cheap. The French resort is probably great if you’re traveling with kids, but personally, it’s a bit too extra and touristy for me.
