The moment I arrived, I was amazed by the elegant Baroque architecture, beautiful gardens, and peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds. Built in the 17th century, the palace was designed with a fascinating connection to time and the cosmos. Its architecture incorporates symbolic numbers representing the days of the year, hours of the day, and seasons, making it much more than just a beautiful building. I enjoyed wandering through the palace grounds, where peacocks freely roamed the gardens and tree-lined paths created a relaxing escape from the city. The interiors were equally impressive, filled with historic rooms, intricate decorations, and a sense of royal grandeur. What surprised me most was how few tourists were there compared to other famous European palaces. It felt like discovering a secret piece of Austria's history. Schloss Eggenberg is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing that includes Graz's historic center, highlighting its cultural importance.
