Benidorm travel guide and discussion

Beni, Beni, Benidorm! Mention this city, and most people immediately think of wild nightlife and endless British pubs. But if you actually explore it, you'll discover a fascinating, futuristic city that looks more like Dubai or Miami than a traditional Spanish town! Known as the "Manhattan of the Mediterranean" for its massive skyline, Benidorm is an architectural playground with some of the best beaches in Europe. Here is why you need to give it a chance: 🌊 The Balcony of the Mediterranean: Located on a cliff separating the two main beaches, this white-balustraded viewpoint offers the most insane, crystal-clear turquoise views. It feels like you are standing on the edge of the world. 🏙️ Mind-Blowing Architecture: Walk around and look up! You cannot miss the iconic Intempo building—a massive, golden, M-shaped skyscraper that dominates the sky. It is a true engineering marvel right on the coast. 🏖️ Endless Sandy Beaches: The Poniente and Levante beaches are legendary. Take a stroll along the wavy, modern white promenade, grab a spot among the colorful umbrellas, and enjoy the uniquely calm waters. 🚋 Travel Hack - The Scenic TRAM: You don't even need a car to get here! The modern Alicante TRAM runs right along the Costa Blanca. It’s cheap, incredibly scenic, and drops you off right near the action. ❓ Community Question: Be honest—when it comes to beach holidays, do you prefer the vibrant energy of a high-rise "skyscraper city" like Benidorm, or are you strictly a "quiet hidden cove" kind of traveler? Let me know below! 👇👀 #wanderlust #thingstodo #staycation #travel2026 #travel #couplestrip #beachlife #naturalwonders #myitinerary #citydaytours

If you’re after a quick affordable escape, Benidorm is a solid pick. Five nights for around £200 per person, full board included – can’t really go wrong with that. Weather in May can be a bit unpredictable, but that’s part of the charm – warm enough to explore without melting, and fewer crowds around. I stayed away from the party centre (not really my scene) and it turned out perfect: peaceful walks along the beach, sea breeze, and that unmistakable smell of summer starting to roll in 🌊☀️ Having full board meant total freedom – even if you eat out, it’s nice knowing your meals are sorted if you’re feeling lazy or keeping an eye on the budget. Benidorm might have its party reputation, but outside the strip it’s surprisingly calm, great for coastal walks, sea views and a bit of sunshine therapy before summer really kicks off. 🇪🇸✨#europeonbudget

I recently visited Benidorm, and I have to say, it completely surprised me! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be such a clean, fun, and relaxing destination that I felt I had to share my experience. First of all, the beaches are absolutely gorgeous. Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente are both stunning, with soft golden sand and crystal-clear water. What really impressed me was how spotless they were – you can tell a lot of care goes into keeping them clean. The water was so calm, perfect for swimming or just cooling off. Plus, there are tons of activities if you want something more exciting, like jet skiing or paddleboarding. Watching the sunrise from the beach was such a peaceful moment and one of my favorite memories. The weather, of course, was very good, any early morning cloud soon burt off as the day progressed. Definitely a great escape if you're coming from somewhere cold. The promenade along the beach is lovely to walk along, with lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants where you can stop and enjoy the views. What really stood out for me, though, was how much fun Benidorm is. There’s such a mix of things to do. The Old Town was charming, with cute little streets and plenty of authentic Spanish food to try. Then there’s the nightlife – whether you’re looking for a chilled drink or something more lively, you’ll find it. Honestly, Benidorm really surprised me. It’s clean, sunny, and has something for everyone, whether you’re there to relax or have a good time. I’d definitely go back! #travel #beachlife #benidorm #spain

#timetotravel #benidorm Attractions - Benidorm has been a tourist destination within Spain since 1925, when its port was extended and the first hotels were built, though it would not be until the 1950s that it became renowned as a summer destination for people coming from inland Spain, especially Madrid. Today it is known for its hotel industry, beaches, and skyscrapers and receives as many tourists from abroad. According to the 2020 census, Benidorm has a permanent population of 70,450 inhabitants, making it the fifth-most populous town in the Alicante province and the ninth in Valencian Community.

We booked our stay for January 26 but considered changing hotels after reading some poor reviews. Ultimately, we decided to stick with our choice, though we weren’t sure what to expect. We stayed from September 9th to 16th and were pleasantly surprised. Our room (355) felt a bit dated but was clean. As half-board guests, we found the food consistently very good during our stay. While the pool area seemed crowded, we’re beach enthusiasts and didn’t spend time by the pool, so we can’t comment much on that. The beach was about a 20-30 minute walk, which was well worth it. For those who have difficulty walking, there are plenty of mobility carts available to hire. Additionally, we noted that beach beds and parasols were cheaper than what we paid five years ago in Benidorm. At the hotel, bar prices for branded drinks were very reasonable. We were also impressed by the evening entertainment—staff and performers put in a lot of effort. Overall, it’s a great value-for-money hotel, and we’d advise others not to be discouraged by negative reviews.

Wait until he has to cross the road... 🤣 what do you wanna see him try? #travelling #vietnam #siblings #brother #firsttime

He couldn’t believe the price at the end 🤣 episode 1 of convincing my brother Vietnam is better than Benidorm 🫡 starting off strong with his first ever bowl of phó 🤤 #vietnam #pho #hanoi #firsttime #travelling

We recently came back from a 10-night stay at this hotel and had a wonderful time. We'd absolutely consider staying here again. Upon arrival at the reception area, we were welcomed by large windows overlooking Santa Ponsa bay. We received a complimentary glass of mimosa and were promptly checked in by a friendly receptionist. Our room was on the top floor, on the same level as reception, and classified as standard. It was spacious, and the view from the balcony was stunning. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided each day. However, we had a few minor issues: the toilet was positioned too close to the shower, the wardrobe didn’t have space for hanging longer dresses, storage was limited, and the bathtub appeared old and slightly worn. We stayed on a half-board basis and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Breakfast options were excellent, and each evening featured a different theme. Unfortunately, the themes repeated weekly instead of rotating over two weeks, but we appreciated the flexibility of swapping dinner for lunch on days we planned to dine out. A delightful touch was receiving free cocktails almost every day, whether during daytime or evening, even as half-board guests. The pool was clean and ample in size, and having direct access to the sea for swimming was a fantastic bonus. Sunbeds tended to fill up by around 10am, though the breathtaking views from the pool area made it worth spending time there. Additionally, there’s a supermarket just five minutes’ walk from the hotel and various bars and restaurants nearby. A coastal path close to the hotel leads to the main part of Santa Ponsa, which takes about 15–20 minutes on foot. However, Santa Ponsa itself wasn’t quite our preference, as it felt highly touristy and reminded us a bit of Benidorm in some areas. Despite that, we managed to find a few lovely restaurants. We appreciated the hotel’s water filters for bottle refilling and the convenience of the Iberostar app. Using the app, we could easily message reception to swap dinner for lunch, and they arranged it immediately. It was also helpful for tracking our bill, allowing us to check food and drink charges after ordering. Lastly, the staff at this hotel were exceptional—hardworking and incredibly friendly. Their efforts greatly contributed to our enjoyable stay.

🌴 BENIDORM, SPAIN 🇪🇸 — Where the Beach Meets the Party! 🌊✨ Benidorm seriously never sleeps! You can go from soaking up all that Mediterranean sunshine by day to absolutely living your best life on the dance floor until sunrise. This city is pure energy, bursting with colors, and way too much fun to call it an early night. 😍 ☀️ HOW TO SLAY A BENIDORM DAY Kick things off at Levante Beach (Av. Madrid, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante) — so iconic for swimming, chilling, epic selfies, or just vibing with the Mediterranean crowd. It’s literally the definition of “good vibes only.” 🌊 Next, wander through Benidorm Old Town (Casco Antiguo), where the maze of cute narrow streets, adorable shops, and classic Spanish restaurants will give you a dose of culture. It’s another side of Benidorm — 100% authentic feels! Don’t skip: 📍 Balcón del Mediterráneo (Plaza Castelar, 03501 Benidorm). This dreamy viewpoint sits between Levante and Poniente beaches and lets you soak in those unreal panoramic sea views. It’s the spot for THAT Insta shot. 📸 If you have more time, level up your adventure with: 🚤 Boat trips from the port to Benidorm Island — total hidden gem alert! 🏖️ Chilling at Poniente Beach (Av. Vicente Llorca Alós) 🌅 Sunset walks along Benidorm Promenade 🛍️ Indie shopping around the buzzing town center 🎢 Theme/water parks like Aqualandia (Sierra Helada, s/n, 03503, Open daily 10am–7pm, seasonal) 🏞️ Day trips to nearby cuties: Altea, Calpe, or Guadalest 🌙 BENIDORM AFTER DARK: PARTY TIME! ✨ Okay, night owls — this is your moment. Benidorm transforms into a wild nightlife playground when the sun sets. From stylish bars to legendary nightclubs, especially around Levante, Old Town, and the famous Calle Gerona party street, it’s non-stop lit vibes. My top pick? Insomnia Night Club (Calle Gerona, 18, 03503 Benidorm). 🔥🎶 My night at Insomnia Night Club was full of music, dancing and great vibes. 🎶🍹 Definitely a place where the night can turn into morning before you even realise it! 😂 The DJ was on fire, the crowd was electric, and the dance floor was packed with party people who just didn’t want the night to end. 100% holiday mode activated! 💃🏽🕺🏽 BENIDORM NIGHTLIFE SURVIVAL GUIDE 🍹✨ 1. Don’t just jump into the first bar — bar hop, compare the scenes, and find your perfect vibe! 2. Clubbing starts late. Real Benidorm nightlife pops off after midnight. Embrace the Spanish party schedule! 3. Slay in comfy shoes — trust, you’ll be dancing until dawn and walking a LOT. 😂 4. Keep your phone and valuables secure. Crowds are fun but stay street-smart. 💭 MY HOT TAKE: Benidorm honestly delivers the full package — sunny beach days, sightseeing for that culture fix, and nightlife so good you’ll need another holiday to recover. So, what’s YOUR vibe: laidback beach day or epic night out first? Drop a comment! 👀🌴 Travel tip: Book your whole game plan — stays, attractions, and more — on trip.com for ultimate convenience and the best rates!

#nightlifetravel 🌴 BENIDORM, SPAIN 🇪🇸 — Where the Beach Meets the Party the Party! 🌊✨ Benidorm is one of those places where you can spend the day soaking up the Mediterranean sun and end the night dancing until the early hours. It’s energetic, colourful, and definitely not a destination that sleeps early! 😍 ☀️ WHAT TO DO DURING THE DAY Start with the famous Levante Beach — perfect for swimming, relaxing, taking photos, or simply enjoying the Mediterranean atmosphere. 🌊 Then take a walk through Benidorm Old Town, where the narrow streets, little shops, restaurants and traditional Spanish atmosphere give you a completely different side of the city. 📍 Don’t miss the Balcón del Mediterráneo — one of the best viewpoints in Benidorm. It sits between Levante and Poniente beaches and gives you beautiful panoramic views over the Mediterranean. 📸 If you have more time, you can also: · 🚤 Take a boat trip to Benidorm Island · 🏖️ Explore Poniente Beach · 🌅 Watch the sunset along the promenade · 🛍️ Go shopping around the town centre · 🎢 Visit one of the area’s theme or water parks · 🏞️ Take a day trip to nearby Altea, Calpe or Guadalest 🌙 AND THEN… BENIDORM AT NIGHT! This is where Benidorm really comes alive. The city has a huge choice of bars, pubs and nightclubs, particularly around the Levante area, the Old Town and the famous nightlife streets. (Spain.info) For my night out, I headed to Insomnia night Club on Calle Gerona. 🔥🎶 The atmosphere was exactly what you expect from a Benidorm night out , the DJ was epic — music, dancing, people having fun and that holiday feeling where nobody seems to want the night to end! 💃🏽🕺🏽 MY BENIDORM NIGHTLIFE TIPS 🍹✨ ⭐ Don’t rush into the first bar you see — walk around and compare the atmosphere. ⭐ If you’re planning to go clubbing, remember that Spanish nightlife starts late. The streets and clubs become much busier later at night. ⭐ Wear comfortable shoes — you may end up walking and dancing much more than you planned! 😂 ⭐ Keep your phone and valuables secure, especially in busy nightlife areas. ⭐ Have a meeting point with your friends in case you get separated. ⭐ Don’t spend the entire trip partying — Benidorm’s beaches, Old Town and viewpoints are just as worth experiencing. ⭐ And most importantly… pace yourself! You don’t want to spend the next morning recovering when there is a whole Mediterranean coastline waiting for you. 😅🌴 💭 MY VERDICT: Benidorm is perfect if you want a trip that gives you a little bit of everything — beaches by day, sightseeing in the afternoon and nightlife after dark. Would you visit Benidorm — and would you choose a beach day or a night out first? 👀🌴 #nightlifetravel #nightlife #nightclub #benidorm

Planning a summer weekend in Benidorm with one full day to play. We’re into big thrills and a bit of theme-y atmosphere, and the heat is real. Do we go all-in on coasters at Terra Mítica or spend the day cooling off at Aqualandia—what would you choose, and which single ride/slide or moment sold it for you?

Amazing experience nice and clean lovely views old town is about 30minutes walk good bars down the road and a Lidl about 5 minutes walk away

Absolutely brilliant hotel. We’ve just returned from 11 nights and I don’t have a single complaint. It was myself, another adult, and two teens. Just 100 meters from the beach, with excellent food, a great pool atmosphere, and entertainment that, while hit-and-miss, was decent overall. The humidity was unique, and every day was over 30°C, making it undeniably warm. The staff were exceptional, especially Deniz—such a great guy. While the resort was quieter compared to what we’re used to, I didn’t mind it at all. I’d prefer Sa Coma’s laid-back vibe over Benidorm’s energy, though somewhere in between would be ideal. My only critique is that once dinner ends at 9:30 PM, there’s no food available in the hotel. If you miss dinner or need a late-night snack, you’ll have to head out to a bar or shop. Overall, I’d rate this experience a 9.5/10.

The location of this incredible hotel is impeccable in every way. From the property’s high standards to the thoughtful details, everything is exemplary! Steps behind the hotel near the tennis courts lead directly to a charming, hidden beach with clean sand and attractive green-hued water. The hotel kindly provides parasols left by previous guests and towels for beach outings. While the beach bar is privately owned and somewhat pricey—a small bottle of water costs €3.50—it sells ice lollies and snacks without reflecting negatively on the hotel. Exiting the hotel's main entrance reveals nearby dining and entertainment options. Walking right brings you to a couple of bars just 100 yards away, while heading left leads to a lively beach vibe spot called 5Oceanos. Here, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere along with delightful food and cocktails. Adjacent to 5Oceanos is a local shop stocking beach essentials, and just around the corner lies the Bonaire seafood restaurant and bar by the marina—a perfect spot to unwind. The charming Old Town is accessible by a 25-minute walk or a €7 taxi ride, and it’s worth visiting for its delightful bars, restaurants, and vibrant Tuesday market. For a contrasting experience, New Town Alcudia offers a bustling Benidorm-like atmosphere and can be reached by a €12 taxi ride. Its beach and sea are equally pristine, adding to its appeal. The hotel goes above and beyond in guest services, including reception arranging taxis and hire cars to be delivered and retrieved right from the hotel without additional charges. Meanwhile, the extraordinary staff throughout the property deserve a special mention, notably Mika for her thoughtful care. The entire team contributes to creating a flawless experience, maintaining a spotless and high-standard hotel environment. Relaxation is enhanced by the serene pool area, free of loud music, offering the perfect setting for reading and unwinding. Rules are kept minimal, allowing guests to feel as though they’re in a tranquil retreat. Fresh towels are provided daily at no extra cost, available for both poolside lounging and beach visits. All sun loungers, including luxurious canopy-covered ones, are free of charge. The breakfast is exceptional, featuring attentive service and delicious options—especially the noteworthy omelettes. The calming environment of the hotel truly rejuvenates you, gently relieving stress and fostering relaxation. Upon arrival and departure, guests are treated to complimentary drinks and are given access to clean towels and indoor shower facilities while awaiting transports. Accommodations are pristine, with spacious, comfortable beds, sufficient storage, top-notch toiletries, a great shower, and cozy terraces ideal for enjoying snacks and cold drinks after a day of tranquility. At the bar, service is seamless and cocktails are both superb and reasonably priced. Every afternoon, the staff generously serve complimentary snacks, allowing you to enjoy them without leaving your lounger. Evening entertainment is light, typically held twice a week, adding flavor to the calm atmosphere without being overbearing. From the moment we arrived, Adim and the entire team ensured exceptional service that lasted until we left. Having traveled extensively, I’ve never experienced such perfection in every aspect of a hotel stay before. Don’t forget your sunscreen, and take advantage of the free library while soaking in the sunshine and blissful serenity.

We recently stayed here on a Half Board basis as a British couple in our 50s. The hotel was located in a quiet area, reminiscent of Benidorm Old Town, about 150 meters from the beach. The staff were friendly overall, but a few struggled with English, leading to occasional language barriers, though we managed fine. Initially, we requested an adapted ground-floor room, but it turned out to be small, overlooked a busy side road, and had a corridor that smelled of dogs. As a result, we opted for an upgraded superior room on the top floor at an extra cost of €25 per night. The room was much bigger, featuring a super king-sized bed and offering pool and sea views, which we felt justified the cost. However, the bathroom was somewhat outdated. We were surprised by the €4.50 nightly charge to use the in-room safe, which felt unreasonable for a 4-star hotel, as similar establishments usually include this for free. Our room was cleaned daily, with the bed made and towels replaced, though the lack of privacy screens between balconies was a downside. The hotel had a peaceful atmosphere throughout, with relaxing music at the pool area. Guests represented a mix of nationalities, mostly German and Italian families and couples—we seemed to be the only British guests. While the restaurant served evening meals, they were somewhat repetitive and inconsistent, with occasional issues like undercooked chicken. Would we return? Maybe, but likely on a B&B basis due to dissatisfaction with the evening meals. Additionally, the safe charge would need to be waived.

Benidorm beach great place loads go reccomndations

cool box , benidorm

Benidorm is best known for its striking skyline and lively seaside atmosphere. Behind the modern buildings, you will find the Old Town, pretty Mediterranean viewpoints, long sandy beaches and plenty of local food places. ## Getting to Benidorm from Alicante 🚋 There are three ways to get to Benidorm from the downtown Alicante: by car (Uber, Bolton), bus and tram. The Bolt ride takes around 30 minutes but is the most expansive. The bus ride is approximately an hour and 15 minutes long, while the tram ride (line 1 from Mercado) is the easiest and most affordable (approx. 3.50 euros for a 70-minute ride). Once you get to the Benidorm tram station, it is approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk downhill to the Old Town and seafront. The Old Town Start your day in Benidorm’s **Old Town**, known as the *Casco Antiguo*. Walk towards the **Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna**, before continuing to the **Balcón del Mediterráneo**. It is a beautiful white viewpoint on a rocky headland between Levante and Poniente beaches. It is one of the best places in Benidorm for photographs. Beaches 🏖️ Benidorm has several beaches, each with its own character. · *Levante Beach** is the liveliest and most famous. Its long promenade is lined with cafés, restaurants and bars. · *Poniente Beach** is quieter and more spacious. · *Mal Pas Beach** is a small, sheltered beach below the Old Town, close to the marina. · *Travel tip:** Check the latest tram timetable before travelling, especially if you are returning to Alicante in the evening. #benidorm #costablanca #alicante #spaintravel #daytrip #mediterranean #beachholiday #tripmoments

Reflecting on a trip that me and three other mates took the other week. We stayed in the heart of Benidorm at the Apartamentos Les Dunes Centro. As a group of 4 boys we were there for the night time experience. With so many bars offering great prices it was a brilliant three nights of partying. We made time to stop at the waterpark in Benidorm which is so worth it. For only £27 for an afternoon entry pass. I would highly recommend our accommodation, the water park and Benidorm in general for a cheap getaway to party. #partytime #Ladstrip

Blackpool, Lancashire – England's answer to Benidorm... just with fewer sangrias and more seagulls plotting armed robberies. One minute you're cruising past the iconic Tower feeling like you've landed on the Las Vegas Strip of the North, the next you're standing by miles of golden coastline wondering if you've accidentally discovered the Mediterranean—until a brisk Lancashire breeze reminds you exactly where you are. On a sunny day, the Irish Sea sparkles like a postcard, the sunsets are genuinely breathtaking, and the promenade comes alive with that unmistakable Blackpool buzz. Sure, the traffic can test your patience, the weather changes its mind every ten minutes, and the seagulls have absolutely no respect for personal space—or your chips—but that's all part of the charm. It's loud, unapologetic, a little rough around the edges, and somehow still one of the best places in Britain to spend a sunny day. England's very own Benidorm? Absolutely... just swap the all-inclusive cocktails for fish and chips and a stick of rock. ☀️🎢🌊

If you’re staying in Alicante for a few days, I highly recommend taking the L1 tram north along the coastline. The first stop is Benidorm. This place is completely different from the typical Spanish small town you might imagine, with towering skyscrapers right next to golden sandy beaches, earning it the nickname "the Miami of Spain." A classic way to enjoy it is to stroll along the seaside promenade and then visit the Mediterranean Balcony to take in the sea views. After a short tram ride of about ten minutes, you’ll arrive at Villajoyosa. This town is best known for its rows of colorful houses by the sea—blue, pink, and yellow intertwined—like stepping into a fairy tale. Compared to the lively Benidorm, Villajoyosa is quieter and has more of the authentic Mediterranean small-town vibe. The biggest advantage of this route is convenience—you don’t need to rent a car, and a day trip from Alicante with a round trip is totally doable. 🍊Orange Review🍊: If Benidorm represents the energy and vacation vibe of the White Coast, then Villajoyosa is synonymous with romance and healing. You can also visit the farther Villajoyosa first and then return to Benidorm, as Benidorm is larger and more bustling, making it better suited for spending an afternoon. Terra Natura Benidorm

Benidorm’s coastline unfolds like a shimmering poem, sunlight dancing over the crystal clear waters that embrace the city’s shores. Each wave whispers secrets of the Mediterranean, reflecting turquoise and sapphire beneath a sky brushed with gold. Here, the horizon becomes a canvas, painted by the play of light and gentle wind, tempting the soul to wander into its endless beauty. Visit Mirador del Castell, perched high above the sea at Plaza del Castell, s/n, 03501 Benidorm. This iconic viewpoint is open day and night, inviting you to gaze upon the stunning panorama where the city meets the ocean. From its white stone balustrades, watch sunlight sparkle across the water—so transparent you can spot the shifting shapes of rocks and fish below, as well as the slow motion of boats tracing lines on the surface. In the early morning, the sea glistens perfectly. By midday, the warmth draws out aquamarine hues so vibrant they seem unreal. Sunset transforms the water into liquid glass, reflecting the pastel colors of the sky and painting memories of serenity to carry home. With every glance, Benidorm’s waters promise renewal and wonder—a place where beauty is both seen and felt. Practical Info: Mirador del Castell is easy to reach by foot from Benidorm’s old town. There are benches and shaded areas for peaceful contemplation, and plenty of photo opportunities with the dramatic backdrop of the Mediterranean. The spot is busiest mid-afternoon; for tranquil moments, arrive early or linger as dusk settles and the city lights twinkle to life along the shore. Tips: Bring a refillable water bottle—refresh yourself as you savor the views. Wear comfortable shoes for exploring the old town’s charming streets leading up to the Mirador. For the best experience, time your visit for golden hour or sunset when the waters are at their most magical. #BenidormViews #MediterraneanMagic #CrystalClearWaters #TravelTips #Spain
