The rooms, pool, restaurant, and food were all excellent, but the standout was the amazing assistance from concierge Ken. On the afternoon of our arrival, he managed to reserve a dinner cruise for six of us on the same evening and also helped us figure out the most affordable and convenient way to go, which was greatly appreciated. The following day, after our scheduled tours, he arranged a driver to take us to both the train market and the floating market, which were phenomenal experiences. Ken reassured us that he would handle everything, and he absolutely delivered. Thank you for making our stay so memorable; we hope to return someday!

🎄 Step into a sparkling wonderland at Durban Botanic Gardens’ Christmas Market & Concert, where festive lights, live music, and holiday cheer transform the park into holiday magic! 🎶🌟 Begin your evening stroll at Berea’s lush Durban Botanic Gardens (9A John Zikhali Rd), open until 17:15—but during seasonal events, the gardens pulse with after-dark energy. Wander through glowing tunnels and under trees adorned with vibrant, twinkling lights for truly insta-worthy shots—look for the biggest Christmas tree or clusters of illuminated blooms and modern architectural features for dazzling close-ups. Arrive just before sunset to catch the golden hour, then enjoy the transition from natural daylight to magical night scenes. Must-do: Grab a hot chocolate from the market stalls, check out local crafts, and settle on the lawns to catch the holiday concert. Pack a picnic blanket—seating can get crowded! Don’t forget those festive selfies surrounded by colorful lights and botanical backdrops; nighttime amplifies the beauty, making every snap pop. Tips: Layer up—Durban evenings can feel cool, especially with intermittent breezes. For crowd-free moments, visit on a weekday if possible. Watch your step: the garden paths can get slippery after dark (saw a few folks struggle with heels—opt for comfy shoes!). Parking fills fast; consider public transport or rideshare to avoid traffic snarls. #Durban #Berea #ChristmasMarket #BotanicGardens #FestiveNights

Key highlights of 2026 Many great memories n more of a well start of the new year season 🌟

News and posts about the blizzard in Chicago from a couple of days ago have been everywhere, bringing back memories of my two years in Chicago. “Chiberia” is not an exaggeration, but these past two years have been relatively mild winters for me, with little snow and none of the scenes where city streets are piled high with snow like this time. In winter, I only have these few photos left, and I missed a snowy Christmas 🥹. Fortunately, I did capture snowy scenes of the city and lakeshore, as well as ice crystals rising from the lake surface in the extreme cold (yes, after some research, they really are ice crystals). Still, I’d love to see the heavy snowfall everyone has been photographing recently. Feel free to share in the comments!

Staff. Pleasant. Location. Great. Room. Perfect. Service. Awesome. The issue here is the noise at night. They have a bar/nightclub downstairs and there is a lot of loud music and noise until after 2am. Also some people
