A Nostalgic Stop in Berry: The Iconic Berry Donut Van
Today we drove about three hours from Sydney city to Berry, a very cute and peaceful regional town in the Shoalhaven Council area that feels wonderfully untouched by time. One of the highlights along the way was stopping at the famous Berry Donut Van by the roadside.
This local icon was established back in 1974. It originally started as just a van parked next to a petrol station. About 30 years ago, a friend of mine lived in this region, and even back then people would already make the drive just to enjoy coffee and donuts here.
Today, the van has grown into a small kiosk, but the charm remains exactly the same. There are still long queues of people waiting patiently for freshly made donuts and coffee, which says everything about how special this place is.
Don’t forget to take a perfect Instagram photo while you’re there — especially next to the multiple road-direction sign beside the kiosk.
📍 Address: 73 Queen Street, Berry NSW 2535
🚗 Getting there: From Sydney, drive south via the Princes Motorway (M1) and Princes Highway (A1). The journey takes around 2.5–3 hours, and the kiosk is easy to find on Berry’s main street.
A nostalgic, joyful stop that makes the journey to Berry even more memorable.

Winery tasting cellar wine. Coolangatta Winery, built in 1822, is the second oldest winery in Australia and has won multiple wine awards. The special seaside climate here and the unique hand-picking process have created a unique wine flavor.

Driving on the F6 scenic road Wollongong Blue Ocean Road, the entire road is built along steep cliffs, with steep cliffs on one side and the boundless Pacific Ocean on the other, which is spectacular!
