As the sunlight slowly turned golden and the hills in the distance started fading into the horizon, the castle felt like something straight out of a storybook. 🚆 HOW TO GET THERE FROM STUTTGART Start from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof and take a regional train to Hechingen Bahnhof, which takes around an hour. From there, you can take Bus 306 when available or a taxi to Burg Hohenzollern parking area. Once you arrive, the shuttle bus will take you up to the castle entrance. One thing I would mention is that public transportation can be a little unpredictable, especially on Sundays and public holidays. A Christmas with little fairies 🧚♀️🎄 So I went to visit Hohenzoller castle during Christmas bcs it was having a Royal Magic exhibition and open to public during the holiday where everything else is close in Germany so I took my chance and run with it! Probably the best thing ever to do bcs I get to experience something very different from my culture and I enjoyed every moment I was there, we saw ppl playing with bubbles and there’s little elves everywhere! Winter sunsets here start around 4:30 PM so be sure to arrive as early as you can, ticket can be bought at the base of the mountain according to slot. You need to wait in line to get into the bus that will bring you to the top and be careful ppl might steal your slot bcs thats what happened to me❄️ Loud music and beautiful decorated tree with fairy light, and food stalls are not yet opened bcs I was quite early, if you are coming towards 8-10pm there will be more festivity as I was already heading back down bcs we’re scared we can’t find taxi home and missed the last train! #2024wish I wanted to visit Hohenzollern Castle as it looked so beautiful in the pictures. Although I didn't manage to enter the castle, I still managed to get some great photos from a hill top opposite the castle. However, the journey to that top of the hill was exhausting. I had to go through thick layers of snow. It was worth it though. In 2024, I hope to visit Neuwachstein Castle.

Thus, I chose to go Hohenzollern Castle which was 3 hours train ride away alone. While in the train, I realised that I had to purchase the tickets and the tickets for the timing I wanted to go in was sold out. Not only this, I could not see any buses available and I had to take expensive taxi. I can only view the castle from the outside. I also went to a hill top opposite of the castle. I had to hike through the forest in the hill for about 1 hr in order to get there. I was so exhausted when I got there. The view from there was quite worth it. When I tried to get back to the train station, I was kinda lost and had to get help from a restaurant to help me get a taxi. It was quite an experience especially in the winter.
