Tucked away in a quiet part of town, the Korean style café had a cosy charm that made us feel instantly at ease. Their steamed brioche was incredibly soft and fluffy, slightly sweet with just the right texture — perfect with a savoury breakfast set and a warm cup of coffee. It was a peaceful start, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. By 12pm, we made our way to Eco Galleria — a beautifully designed mall with wide open corridors and a slightly European feel. It was a weekday, so the whole place was calm and quiet, perfect for window shopping and enjoying the aesthetic surroundings without the usual crowds. Lunch was at Chi Bao Zi at 1pm, a casual retro Hong Kong themed spot focused on handmade Chinese buns. The buns were pillowy soft, freshly steamed, and generously packed with flavourful fillings. We ordered a few different ones to try, and each bite was satisfying. It was a light but comforting meal, just enough to keep us going. At 3pm, we checked into Hotel Granada for a mid-day rest. The location was super convenient — close to the malls and eateries in Bukit Indah — and the room was clean and spacious, great for a short break to recharge. We headed to AEON Bukit Indah at 5pm for a bit of shopping. It’s a familiar stop, but always a fun one, whether it’s browsing skincare, picking up snacks, or just people-watching. The mall was nicely air-conditioned and not too crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. By 7pm, we were ready for dinner at Treasure Thai - a nature hidden farmhouse cafe straight out of a Ghibli film. The tomyum mama had that fiery kick we were craving — spicy, tangy, and full of flavour. The green curry was rich and creamy, perfectly balanced with tender chicken and vegetables. Every dish hit the spot. To end the night, we made one last stop at a cozy panda themed cafe called Tangii Dessert at 9pm. Their taro mochi milk ice was everything we hoped for — silky smooth shaved ice topped with rich taro purée, chewy mochi balls, and a generous drizzle of condensed milk. #summervacay We recently dropped by Tangji Dessert 糖记甜铺 in Bukit Indah, and if you're a taro lover like us, it’s basically taro heaven. The space is simple and clean, with light wooden furniture and a few adorable panda-themed touches that make it feel cozy without trying too hard. Their taro series was the main reason we visited, and it didn’t disappoint. We went for the taro purée with mochi milk ice — a bowl of soft shaved milk ice topped generously with smooth, creamy taro purée and chewy handmade mochi. The taro flavor was rich and earthy, not overly sweet, and the texture of the purée was velvety — like eating mashed yam clouds. The mochi added a fun chewiness that made the whole bowl more satisfying. The menu also has other variations of their taro desserts, like taro with Oreo, mango taro, and taro pandan jelly, so there’s definitely something for everyone, especially if you’re looking to mix flavors. But honestly, we’d go back for the purée version again. The vibe inside is relaxed — nothing too flashy, which we liked. It feels like the kind of place you can sit and chill with friends or wind down after dinner. It’s also conveniently open late (till 11pm on weekdays and even later on weekends), making it a nice dessert stop for night owls. One thing to note — portions are just right. Not too overwhelming, but definitely satisfying if you're craving something cold, creamy, and comforting. It’s a great stop if you’re exploring Bukit Indah or looking for a chill place to satisfy your taro cravings. We’re already eyeing the other taro combos for our next visit.

A recommendation is to head to bukit indah, away from the touristy woodlands custom where there is a quiet little cafe here called Sorella. Sorella is located at 48, Jalan Indah 28/1, Taman Bukit Indah 2, where there are many cute little cakes and instaworthy food too! As its also the Christmas season, the cakes are decorated beautifully in themes of Christmas edition. They also serve mains like your crossiants, sourdough bread, big breakfast and even pasta too! #summervacay On our way to Forest City, we stopped by Loon Sing at Bukit Indah to try their 50% dim sum promotion on weekdays. The restaurant has a spacious dining hall and ample parking, which was a plus. Since we arrived after lunch, it wasn't crowded, which was a relief. We ordered a variety of dim sum, including their signature golden custard bun and tong por meat bun ( no entitled for promotion). The food was served quickly, which was impressive. However, I noticed a drop in quality for their siew mai - it's not my favorite anymore. On the other hand, the golden custard bun was still consistent in quality. The rest of the dishes were acceptable, but the tong por meat bun had inconsistent quality. Some pieces of meat were tender and melted in my mouth, while others were quite hard. My family member joked that some might have been cooked the day before and reheated. Overall, I felt the quality has dropped compared to previous visits, but with the 50% promotion, it's hard to complain too much. The average price per person was around MYR 35. Coming in to Bukit Indah was an easy feat for me as I live in the west, near the bus interchange to take CW3 to JB. It’s my third time trying to go the bus interchange and finally I didn’t make any detour. My first thought when my friend jio me to come in. I must eat that frog leg porridge, drink that coconut juice and eat that blackball dessert. Only managed to tick my bucket list for the first 2. So I will be back!

#johorbahruguide If you're into pretty cafés with jungle vibes, this place in Johor Bahru is calling your name. I had their lava latte and it was such a treat—silky milk, espresso, and chocolatey goodness in every spoon. Plus, the wooden tray and glass made it look so aesthetic! The space is filled with green plants and natural textures, from wooden tables to woven seats. It felt like a breath of fresh air after walking around town. Whether you’re here to relax or take cute photos, this café hits all the right spots!

This is hands down the tastiest claypot lau shu fen, mee tai bak or silver needle noodles I've ever tried in JB. The wok hey was evident even before the waiter set it down the table! The runny yolk, marinated minced pork along with crispy pork lard and scallion all added to the aroma of the whole dish. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it! Of course, it was the Hokkien Mee that first caught our attention. It's chewy texture was most satisfying and it got more and more so with every spoonful. Perhaps, the least impressive of the dishes we ordered was the fermented red bean curd crispy pork, which was flavourful but each individual piece was a little on the thin side. Overall, it was a good experience and we'll surely be back to try the other signature dishes. Discovered this rare Chinese Wuxia 武侠 theme restaurant at Bukit Indah Johor Bahru by chance . Totally impressed and happy with the food and excellent services offered. Good soup base and wide spread of food to choose from for steamboat, plus wonderful selection of free traditional ice cream , and fruits . Beer and Chinese wine available too . Price is reasonable . This restoran seems like a family run restoran.....and we went there more than 3-times for breakfast and lunch. Everytime is a good meal and we never get tired to sample their food. I can tell they really care about quality as the chef telling their cook to prepare the rice just seconds before he finished cooking the main dishes therefore, the food were served hot and it was delicious....

Opened in May 2021, DaXia Skewers (大侠上上签 ) is the first restaurant in Johor Bahru which specialises in hotpot skewers. The restaurant is elegantly and beautifully decorated in traditional Chinese jianghu style. We felt like stepping into the wuxia world filled with martial artists and swordmasters! The restaurant specialises in hotpots and skewers. With 7 different soup bases and over 100 items on their menu, there is surely suitable food for all diners. The kids enjoyed themselves cooking their favourite food.
