Stayed in Cairo for three days, and the best decision was to stay at this hotel. The moment I opened the window, the Great Pyramid of Khufu was right in front of me. I never thought a world wonder could be this close to me! · This time I booked a room with a bathtub. Soaking in the tub with the pyramids outside the window—this experience feels unreal! The room isn’t very big but is very new. The power outlets are two-pronged, which the owner said was specially installed for Chinese guests. The attention to detail really touches you. · Had breakfast on the rooftop terrace early in the morning. The selection was super rich, and the fried eggs and flatbread tasted fantastic. Eating right in front of the pyramids makes for incredible photos, and my social media was flooded with questions! Compared to the Mena House, the same view at a tenth of the price! The cost-performance ratio is truly unbeatable. · The front desk staff speaks fluent Chinese, so communication was flawless. They can help order takeout, call a car to the museum, exchange Egyptian pounds, and even when I left for the airport at 4 a.m., they packed breakfast for me!!! · It only takes ten minutes by taxi from here to the North Gate of the pyramids. There’s a small supermarket next to the gas station nearby, so buying water and snacks is just a short walk away!

Unlike the bustling tourist spots in Cairo, this place remains serene and undisturbed. The feeling upon entering is, "This is truly a place for those who love knowledge." Imam Shafi'i was a great scholar of the Muslim world. Walking around, you can observe the old architecture that blends Mamluk and medieval Egyptian styles, giving the site an effortlessly sacred and historic charm.

Taking a taxi in traffic can be excruciating, but the metro is easy, fast, and incredibly cheap. Signs are available in both Arabic and English, making it easy for foreigners like us to navigate. The larger stations also appear modern, especially the newer Line 3, which is completely new, has air conditioning, and is less crowded than the older lines. The downside, however, is that during rush hour, it's incredibly crowded, so crowded that you don't even need to walk; a human guides you. Some older stations can look rundown and aren't as clean as some metros in other countries. Furthermore, there are airport-like baggage check-ins, which can sometimes lead to small queues. Another favorite is the women-only booths, which makes it more convenient for solo travelers. The fares are excellent, tens of times cheaper than taxis, making it a popular choice among locals. Overall, the Cairo Metro is ideal for those looking for fast, affordable travel and avoiding being stuck in the middle of a busy street. It's recommended to avoid the morning and evening commutes. And you'll feel like it's much more convenient than you thought.🚆✨

The moment you step into Old Cairo, sunlight falls on the rough stone bricks, casting scattered dust light like a secret and sacred path. There are no dazzling golden temples, no exaggerated architectural lines, only the weight accumulated by time. The breeze under the arches carries the scent of incense, and soft prayers echo through the alleys, as if someone is gently telling stories of the past by your ear. Emotions inexplicably soften, as if gently held by history. When you truly stand in the oldest heart of this city, you realize that the weight of civilization never needs words. 1️⃣ Saint George Church ⛪️ The dome is cool and solemn; the moment sunlight filters through the cracks, the whole person quiets down. Although the exterior murals are weathered, they are especially powerful. Sitting on a bench to rest for a few minutes, you suddenly feel time slow down. This is my favorite stop. 2️⃣ Saints Sergius and Bacchus 🕯️ The semi-underground space is very cool, and the dim yellow light on the stone walls makes you involuntarily breathe softly. Once inside, your heart sinks instantly, feeling wrapped by history. 3️⃣ The Hanging Church ⛪️ Walking up the stairs, your mood gradually becomes solemn. As you enter the central courtyard, you'll see a beautiful row of ancient pillars, creating an airy and comfortable space. A cool breeze constantly blows. When the sun shines down on the central courtyard, it adds a simple, mystical atmosphere. If you visit during off-peak hours, it's even more peaceful, perfect for relaxing, strolling, or even spending some quiet time reading. This mosque isn't as "luxurious" as the great mosques in the Middle East. Instead, it exudes a simple, classic beauty and a strong sense of history. A popular photo spot is the long columns and the corner under the roof, where you can see the old woodwork. If you visit in the evening before Maghrib, the light is golden and beautiful. The cleanliness and newness of the building may not be perfect, as it's an old building with a lot of visitors, but overall, it's well-maintained and easy to navigate. The atmosphere is friendly. And most of them are free to enter. If you are a Muslim, you will feel very connected because it is a place that is connected to the early era of Islam in Egypt. 🕌✨
