If you’re looking for a Brazilian island that still feels wild, peaceful and authentic, put Boipeba on your list. Located in Bahia’s Tinharé Archipelago, Boipeba is the kind of place where you come for the beaches but stay for the slow pace, lush Atlantic Forest, coconut groves and charming little villages. There are no cars around the island, and many of the most beautiful beaches are connected by trails, boats or sandy paths. 🌊🌴 🏝️ BEACHES YOU SHOULDN’T MISS Boca da Barra The main beach near Velha Boipeba and the easiest place to start exploring. It also has the island’s main pier and more restaurants and accommodation options. Tassimirim A smaller and quieter beach that you can reach by walking from Boca da Barra. It is a beautiful first stop if you’re doing the coastal walk. Cueira 🥥 One of my favourites. Expect white sand, crystal-clear water and a huge coconut grove. It’s a great place to stop for lunch before continuing towards Moreré. Moreré 🌊 The star of Boipeba. This beautiful bay has calm water and natural pools that appear at low tide. Take a small boat out to the pools for snorkelling and you can see colourful fish and coral. Bainema 🌴 Continue walking from Moreré and you’ll reach this much quieter beach. It has a long stretch of sand, dense vegetation and far fewer people. Perfect if you want to feel like you have the island to yourself. Ponta dos Castelhanos 🐚 For something even more remote, head to Castelhanos. The beach is surrounded by coconut palms and mangroves, with natural pools appearing at low tide. It is also known as a great spot for diving and marine life. 🥾 THE BEST WAY TO EXPLORE One of the best experiences in Boipeba is walking between the beaches. A classic route is: Boca da Barra → Tassimirim → Cueira → Moreré → Bainema The scenery changes constantly between beaches, forest, coconut plantations and small rivers. The walk from Boipeba to Moreré is around 5 km and takes roughly 1.5 hours, depending on your pace and stops. ⚠️ Important: Check the tides before doing the coastal walk. The Rio Oritibe between Cueira and Moreré needs to be crossed at low tide. If you don’t want to walk, you can use quadricycles, tractors or boats between the villages. A small boat from Boca da Barra to Moreré takes around 25 minutes. 🛶 DON’T MISS A BOAT TRIP A boat tour is a great way to discover the more remote side of Boipeba. Depending on the route and sea conditions, you can visit natural pools, secluded beaches, mangroves and different parts of the island. If you love snorkelling, plan the trip around low tide, when the natural pools are at their best. 🏡 WHERE TO STAY Velha Boipeba is the most convenient base, with the largest choice of restaurants, accommodation and transport. Moreré is my choice if you want something quieter and more beach-focused. It has a smaller village atmosphere and direct access to some of the island’s best beaches and natural pools. 🚤 HOW TO GET THERE Getting to Boipeba takes a little more effort than reaching the famous beaches of Bahia, but that’s part of what keeps the island so special. From Salvador, one common option is a semi-terrestrial transfer involving road transport, a crossing via Itaparica and a fast boat from the Valença area to Boipeba. There are also faster options, including air taxi flights from Salvador, followed by a short boat crossing, while another route combines a catamaran towards Morro de São Paulo with onward 4x4 transport to Boipeba. 💡 My tip: Stay at least 3 nights, but 4-5 nights is even better if you want to explore Moreré, Bainema and Castelhanos without rushing. Boipeba isn’t the place to come looking for huge resorts, busy nightlife or perfect roads. #2024 Trip Review **Bahamas Beach (Bahia Beach)** The happiest part of 2024 was going to Brazil! The Bahamas Beach is one of Brazil’s famous beaches, and transportation can be reached by plane and then transferred to a bus. The beach here is white and the water is clear, suitable for swimming and sunbathing. Restaurants along the coast offer fresh seafood so you can savor local cuisine while enjoying the sunshine, especially for families and friends.

#Overseas travel The beach boasts soft white sand and clear blue water. I enjoyed relaxing in the sun and swimming in the calm water. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for someone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 🌊☀️ The service was simple but adequate. There were stalls offering delicious local food and refreshing drinks, which added a special touch to the experience. 🍹🍴 Among the activities, we had a nature tour along the beach and kayaking in the sea, which was a leisurely and relaxing experience. 🛶❤️ For those looking for peace and natural beauty, I recommend visiting Moreli Beach.
