Peiyuan Tower is located by the Yishui River in Dali Village, Peiyuan Subdistrict, Changning City, Hunan Province. It was originally built in the third year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1864), funded by Tang Xunfang, a general of the Xiang Army. Its construction was influenced by Feng Shui principles, aiming to remedy the Feng Shui flaws of Changning City to benefit the imperial examination system. The tower was completed in the fifth year of Tongzhi (1866). The tower is a seven-story, octagonal pavilion-style brick and stone structure, approximately 30 meters tall. The base is built with granite, and the top features a hollow iron gourd shape. The main south-facing entrance is inscribed in regular script with "Peiyuan Tower," the east gate is inscribed with "Welcoming Purple Qi," and the north gate with "Great Grace Arrives." The tower's core chamber follows the "round heaven and square earth" design, with stone steps spiraling to the top, creating scenic views such as "Yishui Tower Shadow," "Yuan Tower Sunset Glow," and "Peiyuan Evening Moon." It is a key cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province.

Kangjia Stage is located by the Kangjia Stream in Jinlian Village, Shuikoushan Town, Changning City. It was first built during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 115 square meters. It features a brick and wood structure, a convex-shaped plan, a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, small green tiles, and green glazed tile trim. The main ridge ends with dragon-shaped "zhengwen" (ridge ornaments), and a precious finial is centered. It is the only well-preserved ancient stage in Changning City. It is a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. On November 27, 1922, the inaugural meeting of the Shuikoushan Workers' Club was held at Kangjia Stage. On December 5, the Shuikoushan Workers' Movement general strike, which shocked the entire nation, took place. Kang Hanliu Restaurant is located 50 meters to the right rear of Kangjia Stage. It was built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China period by local villager Kang Hanliu to operate as an inn and for his own residence, also known as Tongxing Restaurant. It was later renamed multiple times. Facing west from the east, it features a brick and wood structure, a hard-peak roof, and is covered with small green tiles. Originally a two-story attic-style residence with four bays, covering an area of 212.9 square meters, currently, one bay remains, covering an area of 37.59 square meters. It is a typical two-story attic-style farmhouse in southern Hunan, with accommodation upstairs and dining downstairs, totaling 10 rooms, and overhanging eaves in front. It is a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. In late April 1922, Mao Zedong, accompanied by Xia Xi and Peng Pingzhi, traveled from Changsha to Shuikoushan in Changning to investigate the conditions of lead-zinc mine workers, staying in the second-floor attic of Kang Hanliu Restaurant.

🌿 Quanfengguan, Changning, Hengyang | A secret wonder in southern Hunan, discover the Hunan version of Thousand Island Lake✨ In Changning, Hengyang, there’s a little-known mountain retreat called Quanfengguan. No noisy tour groups, mostly only locals know about this place. The near-zero tourist crowds make for a truly rare experience 😭 No need to travel all the way to Hangzhou. In the mountains of southern Hunan, you can encounter the same stunning lake views as Thousand Island Lake. You can drive directly to the mid-mountain area, no need to struggle up long, exhausting trails. Just a few minutes’ walk along a gentle mountain path brings you to the summit viewing spot. The scene unfolds instantly: a vast lake of jade-green water, divided by rolling mountains into countless islands of all sizes. Layer upon layer of green mountains embrace the emerald lake. If mist rises among the peaks, the clouds weave around the mountains and water, turning the whole view into a flowing ink painting from an ancient scroll, creating an immersive atmosphere. No need to tweak camera settings—just snap with your phone’s native camera, and the photos will look amazing without any editing 📸 The entire mountain exudes rich traditional Chinese charm. The Caishen Temple with red-tiled eaves sits quietly among the hills. An antique carved incense burner stands still, and a grand, long dragon railing coils around the platform. Leaning on the dragon-shaped stone railing, looking into the distance, the vast lake and mountains spread behind you. The green hills and blue water form a natural backdrop, making it easy to capture atmospheric traditional-style photos. Here you get a dual experience: hike through the forest to breathe fresh mountain air and wash away city fatigue; or enter the Caishen Temple to burn incense and pray for peace and good fortune. Enjoy both scenic beauty and blessings in one place 🍃 🌟 Bonus: The entire scenic area is free to enter, with no admission fees! Skip the tiring climb—elderly and children can easily reach the top. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet, with no hawkers or noise, so you can fully enjoy the gentle lake and mountain scenery. Perfect for friends nearby in Hengyang and Chenzhou to take a short weekend drive, avoid crowded popular spots, and find a mountain retreat to relax and clear your mind. 📍 Navigation: Quanfengguan, Changning, Hengyang 💡 Travel tips ✅ Try to visit on a sunny day. The sunlight makes the lake water crystal clear and the colors of the mountains and water more vivid, giving the best photo results ✅ There are few shops on the mountain and no convenience stores, so bring your own drinking water and some snacks ✅ The viewing platform has many spots with excellent views from multiple angles. Any spot is great for photos ✅ It’s best to go during the day. The mountain wind can be strong, so bring a light jacket ✅ You can enjoy both lake and mountain views and pray for blessings, making it ideal for family trips or outings with friends

The repetitive work processes and the layers upon layers of trivial tasks slowly erode our enthusiasm. Team members silently bear the pressure, rarely having the opportunity to openly share their feelings or heal each other. To rejuvenate, we traveled together to Zhongtian Ancient Village, where the ancient charm of this Ming Dynasty military fortress allowed us to find solace and rekindle our hope for the future. Zhongtian Ancient Village, founded during the Yongle era by the military household of the Li family, is a rare military-defense-style ancient residential complex in Hunan. Over a hundred walled old houses are densely packed, with winding alleys resembling a maze, serving both defensive and agricultural functions. Moonlight Pond in front of the village gathers flowing water, and Cuiwei Peak stands quietly behind it, perfectly preserving the remnants of the Ming Dynasty military fortress system. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the pace is slow and peaceful, filled with the serene and profound cultural atmosphere of southern Hunan. We cast aside the constraints of performance and deadlines, setting no rush, and strolled leisurely along the ancient cobblestone alleys. We sat around in the open space in front of the ancient ancestral hall, chatting casually, frankly sharing our confusion and fatigue from work. Our companions listened patiently and offered gentle encouragement, gradually dispelling the accumulated emotional strain. During our stroll, we helped each other take photos, shared snacks, and paused to appreciate the layout of the ancient buildings, reminiscing about the days when soldiers and civilians settled and cultivated the land. The simple, idyllic scenery of the ancient village soothed our minds and bodies, and the sincere companionship melted away our worries. I deeply realized that the team is not just comrades-in-arms charging forward side by side, but also a pillar of support during low points. This short rest is not about slacking off, but about recharging for a new journey. After this gentle healing experience, we rediscovered our enthusiasm and are willing to work together to meet all the challenges and surprises ahead. #NewYearDestinations2026 #travel2026

Drive the “roller coaster” into the mountains, enjoy natural air conditioning and play in the water. Keep this lazy traveler guide for Changning Tashan Grand Canyon in Hunan handy. It focuses on saving money, avoiding crowds, and hassle-free fun. ⛰️ Core experience: natural air conditioning + glass walkway · Cool down and breathe oxygen: altitude over 800 meters, 5 to 6 degrees cooler than the city, forest coverage over 85%, a “natural oxygen bar.” · Lazy traveler friendly: about 4.8 km total, flat terrain with few steps, takes 2.5–4 hours to walk easily, no pressure for seniors or kids. · Highlights: hike along the stream, discover 18 waterfalls (including the 300-meter drop “No. 1 waterfall in southern Hunan”) and a 100-meter glass walkway. You can also wade in the water for a super refreshing experience. 💰 Money-saving quick pass · Ticket: only 45 yuan per person (great value). · Transportation: must drive (about 1.5 hours from Changning City, 2–3 hours from Hengyang City). The second half is a winding mountain road with narrow curves, so be cautious if you’re a new driver. · Parking: navigate to “Tashan Grand Canyon Visitor Center.” The parking lot is shared with Xijiang rafting. · Avoid pitfalls: don’t take the sightseeing shuttle at the entrance; it’s just a few hundred meters’ walk to the entrance. Bring water shoes, mosquito repellent, and motion sickness medicine. 🗺️ Lazy traveler one-day itinerary Morning canyon hike (while it’s cool), enter from the left side (shadier), wander freely, focus on playing in the water and taking photos. Lunch at Shiyuan Village with Yao-style cured meat and sticky rice cakes, about 50 yuan per person to eat until full. Afternoon (optional) Xijiang rafting (180 yuan per person, starts at 2:00 PM, 10 km with 16 thrilling rapids), or visit Tiantang Mountain to see the windmill meadow. 🏠 Best value places to stay? The scenic area is new. It’s recommended to stay in guesthouses in Xijiang Village or Shiyuan Village at the foot of the mountain (such as Jiangshangrenjia or Yaoyuan guesthouse). Booking by phone in advance is cheaper than through platforms. 💡 Ultimate money-saving tips · Bring a swimsuit and sandals to wade and play in the water for free. · Search the local government website or platforms for “Changning Tashan guesthouse recommendations” to find official direct booking phone numbers. · Combine rafting with lodging; some guesthouses offer discount packages. Although it’s a newly developed niche spot, the scenery rivals big-name destinations. The key is it’s cool, uncrowded, lazy traveler friendly, and cheap—a highly cost-effective hidden gem.

People often say travel is an escape from reality, but I believe it's a way to better return to it. Every time we set off, we trade our daily exhaustion for the gentle embrace of the mountains and the ocean breeze. The most touching part of a journey is never the scenery at the destination, but the way your heart is gently softened by the wind along the way. We always search for our own reflections in other people's stories, thinking that if we have what they have, we can live the way they do. Yet, when you're truly on the road, you realize that travel is life's quick-charge button, helping you rediscover the ability to talk to yourself. Everywhere you walk, the view is beautiful; just setting off is the best cure. The world is vast and wide, and I've witnessed it for you. The scent of osmanthus scattering in the wind and the rough texture of old walls beneath your fingertips all remind you that life can be this simple. On the road, there are no worries, because when your world is big enough, your troubles seem incredibly small. With sand beneath my feet and ancient walls under my hands, I've tucked all the vivid beauty of the world right into my pocket on this trip! This love for life will carry us through every low point, leading us to our own beautiful spring.

For the people of Changning, the morning begins with this bowl of noodles. Before coming to Changning, my local friends were raving about it: "You absolutely have to try a bowl of Yefen!" 🤔 At the time, I was wondering, what is Yefen? It wasn't until I actually tasted it that I realized—this bowl of noodles is worth a special trip to Changning just for! 🌶️ 🏨 Staying at Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Branch) brings you one step closer to deliciousness. This time, I stayed at the Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Branch). The hotel is on Yanchishan Road, right across from Yanchishan Park ⛰️ The location is excellent, convenient for going anywhere. The key is—it's really close to those old-fashioned noodle shops hidden in the alleys! 🚶 🍜 What exactly is Changning Yefen? For the people of Changning, a day begins with a bowl of rice noodles. "I'd rather go a day without meat than a day without rice noodles"—this saying perfectly encapsulates the Changning people's obsession with rice noodles. Changning rice noodles come in several shapes: round and flat. In terms of flavor, they are categorized into braised noodles, soup noodles, dry noodles, and stir-fried noodles. This time, I came specifically for the dry noodles 👀 Dry noodles are prepared dry, without soup. The essence lies in that spoonful of soul-stirring sauce and toppings. After the rice noodles are cooked, a secret sauce is poured over them. Add minced meat, peanuts, kelp, chopped chili peppers… Stir well, and every strand of noodle is coated in sauce. The texture is smooth and chewy, with a rich, spicy flavor. So delicious it's almost choking—that's probably where its name comes from 😋 🔥 The first bite was irresistible! I found a long-established shop recommended by a local. The moment it was served, the aroma filled my nostrils 🌶️ I picked up a few strands of rice noodles soaked in sauce with my chopsticks, and with a flick of my wrist, the noodles bounced a few times, perfectly curling up a few pickled cowpeas before entering my mouth. The crunchy texture was incredibly satisfying. The rice noodles were chewy yet smooth, bursting with original flavor. Even in the soft texture, there was a strong, noticeable spiciness. The more I ate, the more delicious it became; I simply couldn't stop 🍜 After finishing, I smacked my lips—all the world's delicacies were contained within this; even the happiest life couldn't be better. 💬 In conclusion, In Changning, Yefen (噎粉) is more than just food; it's a sentiment. Many Changning natives who have lived away for a long time return to their hometown and the first thing they do is find a noodle shop, sit down, and enjoy a bowl of Yefen to savor the authentic taste of Changning. If you visit Changning and stay at the Vienna Hotel, don't miss this bowl of Yefen that locals crave! ✅ Start your day with a bowl of Yefen early in the morning to begin your day with energy! 🌞 What's a breakfast from your hometown that you can't forget? 👇 Tell me in the comments!

Driving from Hubei to Qingyuan for rafting is quite a long trip. When reaching the Changning section, it was just the right time to find a place to rest for a night, so we chose Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Branch). It was originally just a stopover, but unexpectedly became the first surprise of this journey✨ 🌿 Environment: Spacious and comfortable, instantly relaxing upon entering We booked a deluxe king room, and the space was really large, completely free from the cramped feeling of ordinary hotels. Warm-toned lighting combined with soft music and aromatherapy instantly relieved half of the fatigue from the long drive. The parking lot was also ample, very friendly for self-driving travelers, no need to worry about dragging luggage far. 🧹 Cleanliness: Spotless, with attention to detail As someone a bit particular about cleanliness, the first thing I did upon entering the room was to check the bedding and bathroom. The sheets and duvet cover were dry and fresh with no odor, and the corners were cleaned meticulously. The shower glass was crystal clear, and the towels were soft and pure white, which was very reassuring. 💁 Service Attitude: Warm and natural, like being cared for by a friend The front desk check-in was quick, and they proactively reminded us of breakfast times and nearby traffic conditions with a sincere smile. When we needed an extra bottle of water late at night, one phone call and it was delivered without any impatience. At checkout, they asked about our stay experience, making us feel genuinely valued. 💤 Unexpectedly Great Sleep Experience The 2-meter king bed with a zero-pressure mattress, plus the option of down or buckwheat pillows, made it hard to get up once lying down. The whole room could be voice-controlled—“Xiaodu, turn off the lights”—saving the effort of getting up to find the switch. That night’s sleep was especially deep, and we woke up fully recharged to continue our journey. 🚗 Travel Notes Often, the joy of a road trip isn’t just the destination but also these temporary stops along the way. This stop at Vienna gave us cleanliness, comfort, and great service, turning the fatigue of rushing into a chance to recharge. Now, we can’t wait to enjoy the Qingyuan rafting and water fun🌊 If you’re also planning to go to Qingyuan from Hubei, or passing through Hengyang or Changning, you can really consider this place as a mid-journey rest stop. It’s cost-effective, offers a great experience, and is reliable!

Walking along the wooden boardwalk, you are surrounded by dense greenery, acting as a natural oxygen bar. When the weather is nice, sunlight filters through the treetops. Highly stylized Chinese architecture is built along the river, and you might occasionally spot monkeys swinging through the trees. We highly recommend taking wide shots of the boardwalk and the lake—it’s a moment that makes you lose track of time. 2. Caishen Karst Cave Address: 50 meters north of County Road 512, Changning City, Hengyang City Opening Hours: 08:00 AM - 06:00 PM If you've seen Furong Cave in western Hunan, you should visit Caishen Karst Cave to experience the southern Hunan version of depth and grandeur. Even in the summer, the cave is incredibly cool. The natural stalactites and bizarre rock formations look just like an underground palace. A friendly tip: It's recommended to wear slip-resistant shoes, as there are dripping water and slippery sections inside the cave. 3. Ping'an Oil Tea Town, Changning City Address: Xia'an Bridge, Ping'an Village, Changning City, Hengyang City, Hunan Province When visiting Hunan, experiencing oil tea is a must. As the saying goes, "A bowl of oil tea in the morning makes you feel better than an immortal." In the town, you can watch villagers stir-frying oil tea on the spot—steaming hot with a fragrance that travels far. If you have time, I recommend signing up for a DIY oil tea workshop to see how the master craftsmen bring out the rich aroma of local oil tea leaves. 4. Changning Martyrs' Cemetery Address: About 130 meters southeast of Changning No. 8 Middle School, Bazhong Road, Changning City, Hengyang City An essential cultural landmark for a city tour. The cemetery's environment is peaceful and solemn, shaded by lush trees. It's a great place to pay your respects to the martyrs, as well as to take a walk and clear your mind. 5. Baisha Town Art Gallery, Changning City Address: Baisha Town, Changning City, Hengyang City, Hunan Province A niche but pleasantly surprising local arts hub. The exterior is surrounded by flowers, making it perfect for capturing an atmospheric photo from behind. 6. Shuikoushan Workers' Movement Exhibition Hall, Changning City If you're a history buff, I recommend stopping by to learn about the story of Hunan's labor movement. The exhibition hall is rich in artifacts, giving you a bit more respect for this small town. Reviews & Practical Tips · Make sure to grab a jar of sauce from the sauce factory; it gets full marks whether you mix it with rice or use it for stir-frying. Your elders or friends will love it too, and it’ll remind you of that sunshine baked in for a full hundred days and the lingering ancient flavor. · Remember to bring a light jacket for the karst cave; it's much cooler inside than outside. · Don't miss the specialty snacks in the oil tea village, such as the sweet and sticky rice cakes (ciba) and freshly fried rice tofu. Eating them fresh out of the fryer is incredibly crispy. · The manor in Songbai Town is perfect for a family trip. The park is quite large, so you can bring some picnic snacks and stroll around at your own pace. Transportation & Food Driving or taking a DiDi to major attractions within the city is very convenient. If you're not driving yourself, it's recommended to find accommodation centrally located downtown. Taxis can get you to various spots in 10-20 minutes. I highly recommend the farmhouse restaurants near Ping'an Oil Tea Town; their freshly stir-fried local vegetables and fish head tofu soup go perfectly with rice. Once back in the city center, you can try the local soy-sauce beef rice noodles and steamed pork with rice flour. For friends who love a slow-paced rural lifestyle and traditional crafts, Changning is truly worth visiting over and over. Let's make a date for next time—I'll take you to seek out more flavors and slowly explore more of Changning's hidden corners~

Evening · Opening that door🚪 When I arrived in Changning, Hengyang, it was already dark🌙. Standing at the entrance of Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Branch) with my suitcase, the dark silhouette of the mountain across the street caught me off guard—that must be Yanchi Mountain Park. Suddenly, I felt at ease: tomorrow morning, I’m going to run into that green space🌿. The front desk smiled as they handed me the room card: “We’ve arranged a room on the park side for you. When you wake up in the morning and open the window, you’ll see the mountain.”😊 I admit, at that moment, my anticipation for tomorrow was at its peak💯. I swiped the card and opened the door🚪. The room was spacious and bright, with no strange smells, and the air was very fresh—just right to relax my nerves. After putting down my luggage, the first thing I did wasn’t to take photos📸, but to flop onto the bed. The zero-pressure mattress supported my body steadily, as if someone gently said, “Stop holding on, rest now”🛌. I buried my face in the down pillow and heard myself exhale deeply~😌 The whole room is smart-enabled; just say “Xiaodu” and the lights and curtains close🎤. I tried it three times—not because I was lazy, but because it was fun😄. Took a shower🚿, hot water in 3 seconds, and the water pressure was just right to wash away the tension in my shoulders and neck. Barefoot on the clean floor, looking out at the scattered city lights🌃, I thought: this night belongs to me❤️. Morning · Running into the mountain🌅 At 5:30⏰, my biological clock woke me before the alarm. I pulled back the curtains; the sky was just getting light, and the outline of Yanchi Mountain changed from deep blue to light gray, slowly bathed in a layer of soft gold🌄. I put on my running shoes👟, gently closed the door—the corridor was quiet, only my own breathing. Crossing the street was the park entrance🚶‍♀️. This step felt like entering another world✨. The morning mist hadn’t lifted yet🌫️, and the air was filled with the damp scent of grass and trees🌱, mixed with earth and dew. I took a deep breath, feeling like my lungs had been cleansed😮‍💨. The main loop trail around Yanchi Mountain Park is about 1.5 kilometers, with gentle terrain—perfect for someone like me who doesn’t care about pace and just wants to enjoy running🏃‍♀️. My pace was slow, even a bit casual. Running through the maple leaf corridor🍁, the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot🍂; running up a short hill, my heart pounding loudly❤️‍🔥, sweat starting to bead on my forehead💦. I didn’t wear headphones🎧—the birdsong🐦, the wind🍃, and my own breathing were the best background music🎵. Along the way, I met an elderly man exercising🧓, who gave me a thumbs-up👍: “Young lady, you’re running pretty early!” I smiled and replied, “The mountain is beautiful, I can’t sleep!”😆 Actually, it’s not that I couldn’t sleep, but that I didn’t want to—rarely do I get a morning staying right across from the park, and I didn’t want to waste it in bed🛏️❌. When I reached the viewing platform halfway up the mountain, I stopped, hands on my knees, catching my breath. Changning city lay below🏙️, with scattered buildings, windows gradually lighting up💡, and occasional cars passing on distant roads… Suddenly, I felt like someone who had secretly witnessed the city waking up🤫🌇. Going down the mountain, my legs felt a bit weak🦵, but my heart was full❤️. It’s a hard feeling to describe—not tired, but satisfied after being sincerely welcomed by nature🙏. Back at the hotel · The warmth of a bowl of noodles🍜 After the run, I returned to the hotel🏨; breakfast was still ongoing🍽️. I headed straight to the auntie’s noodle stall—someone on Xiaohongshu had recommended the beef brisket noodles here yesterday📕. Holding the steaming bowl♨️, the beef brisket was tender, the broth rich with a hint of spiciness🌶️. One bite warmed me through and through🥰. Sitting by the window🪑, slurping noodles🍜, I looked at Yanchi Mountain across the way⛰️. The sunlight was fully shining on the mountain☀️, making the leaves glisten✨. I thought of the vague dark shadow I saw last night🌚, compared to the fresh green vitality now🌳. Life is truly wonderful—the same mountain gave me a completely different mood overnight🌈. Before checking out, I stood by the window and daydreamed for a while🤔. In these 24 hours, I didn’t rush to see sights⛩️ or check off tasks📝. I just had a good night’s sleep😴, ran a morning mountain run🏃‍♀️, and ate a bowl of heartwarming noodles🍜. But these small, genuine moments made me feel fully recharged🔋⚡. Final thoughts✍️ If you ask me, is Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Branch) worth staying at? I’d say: yes, especially if you’re like me, wanting a good sleep on your trip🛌 and a morning run into nature🌿. It’s not just a hotel🏨, but a gentle starting point💕—giving you a peaceful night and delivering the best scenery right to your doorstep🚪🏞️. And I’ve already decided when I’ll come back next time🚗💨.

The Li Clan Ancestral Hall is an important part of the ancient architectural complex in Zhongtian Village. It was originally built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, carrying profound historical significance and unique cultural value. The ancient architectural complex in Zhongtian Village was first established in the second year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1404). It gradually formed as Li Jigong, the son of Li Zirong, a descendant of the Ming Dynasty's Chaling Wei military household, settled here. The Li Clan Ancestral Hall originally served as a family worship site. During the Anti-Japanese War, to counter Japanese military incursions, clan members dismantled one wall of the ancestral hall and used its bricks and stones to build a watchtower on the hilltop, where they installed mortars and successfully killed two Japanese soldiers. After the war, the ancestral hall was repaired and used as the school building for Miaoqian Middle School. The overall layout of the ancestral hall is strictly symmetrical. The existing main building is a two-story structure, approximately 13 meters wide from east to west, 34 meters long from north to south, with a total height of about 9 meters, covering an area of about 450 square meters. It retains the typical architectural style of ancestral halls in southern Hunan. The building features a hard mountain roof, mainly constructed with blue bricks and wood. The stone door frame at the entrance, traditional couplets, door lintels, window lattices, and door piers are often engraved with auspicious patterns, reflecting the "both martial and literary" military settlement culture.‌‌

The Zhongtian Ancient Building Complex is located in Zhongtian Village, Miaoqian Town, Changning City, Hengyang, Hunan Province. It was originally built in the second year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1404) and has survived through the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. The Zhongtian Ancient Building Complex preserves over 100 ancient buildings, more than 200 courtyards, and 108 alleys, covering an area of 38,000 square meters. The entire complex faces south to north, constructed with brick and tile, featuring a complete drainage system. The houses are interconnected, forming a unified whole. At its peak, there were more than 800 households, mostly with the surname Li, which is quite rare in rural China. This complex is not only a historical witness to the Ming military garrison system but is also famous for its unique "military village fortress" style and complete drainage system. The ancient buildings combine architectural features of Jiangnan residences with distinctive local styles. It is one of the best-preserved and largest Ming and Qing ancient building complexes in Hunan Province, holding significant research, historical, and architectural value. It is a nationally protected key cultural relic and one of the first batch of traditional Chinese villages.

Built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, the Liu Family Mansion boasts a history of over 200 years. This grand complex measures 85 meters wide and 76 meters deep, covering an area of approximately 6,000 square meters. It comprises five main building groups: the ancestral hall, the six southern courtyards, the six northern courtyards, the southern transverse hall, and the northern transverse hall, along with auxiliary buildings such as granaries, hitching posts, and servants' quarters. It is the only well-preserved manor-style ancient architectural complex in Changning City. The structure is made of brick, wood, and stone, with square blue brick paving, blue stone foundations, exposed brick walls, small blue tiles, double-sloped gable roofs, and three- or four-tiered firewalls. The Liu Family Mansion features a unique architectural style. The courtyards and residences are neatly symmetrical, with a layout of three longitudinal and three transverse wings, emphasizing the central axis as the core of the building's design. Through the rational division of architectural space, the ancestral hall for worship and the residences for living are organically combined, maintaining a proper distinction between clan and family relationships and elevating harmonious clan relations to their highest level. The Liu Family Mansion boasts exquisite wood carvings and diverse window designs. The double-tiered beams supporting the eaves and pillars are adorned with various decorations, employing a combination of round and openwork carving techniques to depict scenes of stories, animals, flowers, and figures, creating vivid and meaningful images. The mansion's foundation, steps, wall corners, and door frames are all constructed of bluestone and embellished with exquisite stone carvings, enhancing its sturdiness, durability, and aesthetic appeal. The Liu Family Mansion is a rural tourism area integrating folk customs displays, artifact collections, dining services, and sightseeing, based on the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages and a Hunan provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. It is a popular tourist destination in Changning.

The Liao Family Ancient Residential Houses are located at Lane 1, Liao Family, Songyi Neighborhood Committee, Yiyang Street, Changning City. It is the only remaining residential complex from the late Qing Dynasty in the urban area of Changning. The complex was originally built during the Qing Dynasty, facing south with a "one vertical, two horizontal" central axis layout, covering an area of about 1,200 square meters. It originally included 32 rooms such as the main house, side houses, and ear rooms, as well as 6 courtyards. Some buildings have been damaged over time, but the main structure still retains the late Qing Dynasty style. The residence is constructed with a combination of blue bricks and earth-wood materials. The walls along the central axis are made of blue bricks, while the lower parts of the side rooms are blue bricks and the upper parts are earth bricks, reflecting the economy and practicality of late Qing residential architecture in southern Hunan. The door headers, eaves, and beams preserve brick carvings and wood carvings with intricate patterns including scroll grass, dragon heads, and qilin, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. The residence once served as the Liao family private school, the headquarters of the Red Flag Commune in 1958, and from the 1970s to 1990s, it was the site of Songtang Complete Primary School. During the War of Resistance Against Japan (1944), it was requisitioned as a field hospital, witnessing the Battle to Defend Changning. It is a key cultural relic unit of Changning City. Geographical Features: In front of the gate is a crescent-shaped feng shui pond, serving both drainage and folk symbolic purposes. The surrounding area is now encircled by modern buildings, forming a "village within the city" landscape.

The Dushi Li Ancestral Temple was first built in the 7th year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1867) and completed two years later. During the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, the ancestors of the Li family moved here from Taihe County, Ji'an, Jiangxi Province, and settled, over 600 years ago. The ancestral temple faces southwest, with its back to the northeast, with the Chunling River in front and a crescent-shaped pond on its side. It covers an area of 919.8 square meters, featuring three bays wide and three courtyards deep with six wings, each section rising progressively. It is a mixed structure of brick, wood, and stone, with small green tiles, a hard-peak roof, and stepped firewalls. 18 red sandstone "heaven-reaching" pillars support the beam frame, which is rare in ancient buildings in southern Hunan. The ancestral temple's stone red sandstone door frames and lintel bas-reliefs showcase exquisite craftsmanship. Wood carvings of figures, flowers, and birds adorn the front eaves corridor, the connecting corridor's cantilever beams, and the main hall's pillars. The main entrance features wood carvings of "Guan Yu on the left and Zhang Fei on the right," symbolizing loyalty and righteousness. Painted beams, purlins, doors, and windows are decorated with traditional colorful paintings, with elegant colors. From 1926 to 1927, the Li Ancestral Temple served as the headquarters for the Dushi Township Farmers' Association of the Shuikoushan Peasant Movement General Association and was an important stronghold for the workers' and peasants' movement in southern Hunan. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Hunan Province.

How to take photos at Vienna Hotel (Hengyang Changning Avenue Branch)? Please keep this guide and photography tips. ✍️ My Experience and Tips for Shooting During Stay: Not Just Comfort, But Style Walking into Vienna Hotel, you can feel an atmosphere blending art and comfort. The hotel incorporates Baroque architectural style into its interior design, visually combining European classical elements with simplicity and brightness. Especially the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, which bring in light and city views without reservation, instantly enhancing the room’s transparency and luxury feel. Staying here not only guarantees a good night's sleep, but just photographing these details is already worth most of the room cost. Beyond visual enjoyment, the hotel’s details are impressive. The smart rooms feature voice-controlled lighting and curtains, instant hot water in the bathroom—everything is efficient and convenient. The bedding is very comfortable, with just the right softness and support, truly delivering the high-quality “deep sleep” that guests praise. In my opinion, this place is not just a resting spot during your trip but a natural photo studio. Its aesthetic design, light and shadow atmosphere, and convenient facilities all create excellent conditions for photography. 📷 Complete Room Photography Tips If you want to take satisfying photos in the Vienna Hotel room, this set of tips from preparation to post-processing might help you. 📝 Preparation: Details Define Quality Clean the scene: Before shooting, tidy up the desk and bed, removing unrelated clutter—this is the first step to a high-end look. Restore colors: It’s recommended to turn off phone or camera filters to preserve the warm European off-white tone of the room and avoid color distortion. 💡 Use of Light: The Soul of the Photo Choose natural light: Soft light in the early morning or evening is the “golden hour” for hotel photography. Open the curtains boldly to let sunlight in; the light and shadow effect at this time is the most natural and charming. Supplementary lighting: If light is insufficient, turn on table lamps or floor lamps, but avoid direct glare. Side lighting or diffused light is best to keep the photo brightness authentic. 📐 Composition and Angles: Make the Space “Bigger” Panoramic composition: Stand in a corner of the room and use the wide-angle lens on your phone to capture the full space well. Use “frames”: Use door frames or panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows as natural foregrounds to greatly enhance depth. Symmetry beauty: Place the bed, window, or other main subjects in the center of the frame for a stable and pleasing look. When shooting the bathroom, a straight-on composition is recommended to make the space look more orderly. 🛏️ Scene Usage: From Big Scenes to Small Details By the window: Sitting by the window enjoying the morning sun or watching city lights at dusk—these moments by the floor-to-ceiling window naturally tell a story. Bedding: Vienna’s bedding is a great prop to create a lazy atmosphere. You can lie on the bed holding a book or stretch naturally; the casual feeling will make the photos more appealing. Details: Don’t forget close-ups of thoughtful touches. The exquisite carvings on the headboard, the smart voice control panel, a freshly brewed cup of tea... all reflect quality. ✨ People in Photos: Say Goodbye to “Just Visiting” Use mirrors cleverly: The hotel’s makeup or full-length mirrors are great interactive props; reflections add layers to your photos easily. Natural interaction: Don’t always stare at the camera. Hold the room’s coffee cup or a magazine, look down while flipping pages, or gaze out the window—these candid moments make expressions more natural. 🎨 Post-Processing: Moderate and Keep It Real When editing, avoid over-enhancing. You can adjust brightness and contrast moderately to restore the true texture you saw with your eyes.

If you want to avoid the holiday crowds, you can visit China Yinshan and Caishen Cave. The biggest surprise is that there are very few people throughout the trip—no crowded tourists, no queues, no pushing and shoving. You can stroll quietly and leisurely, which is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The first impression of China Yinshan is tranquility. The mountain paths are not crowded, with only a few scattered people along the way. Walking on the stone slab paths, you only hear the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves—very peaceful. The entire mountain cliff is covered with carved seals from various dynasties, with stone carvings at every step, full of ancient charm. You don’t have to rush to take photos; you can stop freely, slowly read the inscriptions, appreciate the stones, and enjoy the mountain breeze. This immersive experience of nature and seal carving culture is truly rare and undisturbed. Caishen Cave also has very few visitors. There’s no need to queue to enter the cave, and the walkway is wide and uncrowded, allowing you to slowly admire the stalactites and stalagmites of the karst cave. Inside, the light and shadows are gentle, the sound of water trickles softly, creating a quiet and cool atmosphere. You can leisurely stroll, take photos, and enjoy the scenery without any rush. The two attractions are very close to each other. Taking your time to explore both will take about three to four hours—no need to hurry, just walk and stop as you please. Yinshan requires walking on mountain paths with uneven steps, so be sure to wear flat shoes or sneakers. The cave floor can be a bit slippery, so slow down and be careful to avoid slipping.

Hunan's flower viewing season is in full swing! From the spring equinox in March, rapeseed flowers, cherry blossoms, tulips, Chinese milk vetch, peach blossoms, camellias, magnolias, and more bloom in competition, creating a province-wide, staggered, and relay-style three-dimensional flower viewing pattern. 【2026 Hunan Rapeseed Flower Festival】 Opening on March 11, the main venue is set at Daoxiang Shitian Scenic Area in Baozi Town, Huitong County, Huaihua City, with sub-venues in Kuzongqiao Town of Hengyang County, Suoshi Town of Shuangfeng County, Kuixi Town of Anhua County, and Mutangyuan Town of Taoyuan County. Amidst tens of thousands of acres of golden flowers, drone formations patrol the skies and tethered hot air balloons ascend, offering breathtaking aerial views of the flower sea; intangible cultural heritage markets and agricultural specialty product exhibitions run simultaneously, with rapeseed oil and wild honey being especially popular. 【Changsha Free Cherry Blossom Bus】 Operating from March 22 to April 15, it connects Yanghu Wetland, Muziji, Yuchi River Fitness Center, and Goodnight Culture Park, creating the "Most Beautiful Cherry Blossom Avenue in Changsha," allowing citizens to conveniently check in at multiple cherry blossom hotspots. 【Hunan Botanical Garden "Song of Spring" Flower Exhibition】 Starting March 13, plum blossoms, tulips, cherry blossoms, camellias, and more bloom intensively, with a dense and layered floral display. Weekend single-day visitor numbers exceed 30,000, making it a popular urban micro-vacation destination in Changsha during spring. 【Changning Million Cherry Blossom Garden】 Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) experiences deeply integrate with cherry blossoms, creating a strong ancient-style photography atmosphere. Playing the guqin, holding fans, and wearing flowers under the blossoms have become popular check-in activities for young visitors. 【You County Ningjiaping Town Rapeseed Flower Festival】 Combining creative check-in spots, food markets, and bonfire parties, the three-day festival is expected to attract a large number of tourists, significantly boosting the comprehensive income of agriculture, culture, and tourism. Due to Hunan's diverse terrain, flower blooming periods vary from north to south and across elevations—early cherry blossoms in northern Hunan are already in full bloom, southern Hunan's redbud flowers are at their peak, pear blossoms in western Hunan are about to bloom, and azaleas, hydrangeas, and other subsequent flowers will continue the relay until late April. Come to Hunan and join a flowing springtime rendezvous!
