Off Kirby Lane, Corby, Northamptonshire, NN17 3EN The mansion itself now becomes a ruin, only a corner survived, the rest has only walls left, the roof and the floors collapsed. This is making it so special. Walking in a ruin with a foundation built from 1570, try to imagine the trace of history, and how people lived hundreds years ago. So inspiring. There's a tapestry trail to relive King James I's visits, and see the recreation of a grand royal bed in the finest room in the house. Also some interactive interpretation and aristocratic 17th century clothes. Another specialty is the peacocks. There are dozens, spreading all over the ruins and the bushes, lying at the top of the ruins, with their screeching scream. Or walking among the bushes, echo with wailing cry, so amazing, I can't stop myself watching and listening to them. Then there's the garden, small but beautiful, a good place to enjoy your lunch and take photos. Definitely a place to visit if you love ruins and peacocks!
