The beef offal is sliced thin, and the broth is so fresh you could drink three bowls. Around 30 yuan per person, you’ll be stuffed. 4️⃣ Aksu | Xinjiang The mysterious Tianshan Grand Canyon was the biggest surprise of this trip. It’s about an hour’s drive from Kuqa County, mostly across desert. I was skeptical about what there could be to see. But the moment I turned into the canyon entrance, I was stunned. The reddish-brown cliffs rose sharply on both sides, sunlight filtering through cracks above, turning the rocks into varying shades of orange, like stepping onto another planet. ⚠️ There’s almost no shade inside. Compared to the Eastern Mausoleum, the Western Mausoleum is much quieter, with sparse visitors, which suits the solemnity of a royal tomb. 📍 The spirit way at Tailin is especially long, with pine and cypress trees over 200 years old on both sides. Walking there, the wind through the treetops sounds like a sigh. Baishi Mountain is another extreme—I admit I chickened out on the glass plank road section. Below is a bottomless abyss, and the wind makes the path sway slightly.
