You don't have to head straight to Jiuzhaigou. Hidden in northwest Sichuan is a hidden gem of a homestay perfect for relaxing✨, Kameizhai Yunqi Heyuan. We've already visited twice! 🚗Driving from Chengdu, take the highway to the Baima highway exit and you'll arrive quickly. The homestay is in Yiwadaire Village, Baima Tibetan Township, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. As soon as you enter the village, it feels like stepping into a natural oxygen bar. The average summer temperature is 20°C, so no air conditioning is needed—it's perfect for escaping the heat. 🏡The homestay is a renovated traditional Baima Tibetan stilt house, and there's also a forest tent camping area available. We stayed in a standalone suite with a private courtyard, offering plenty of privacy. The whole house has floor heating, a private bathroom, and high-quality bedding—everything is well-equipped👍🏻 There are plenty of activities too! ✔️Harvesting vegetables in the organic garden🥬 ✔️Easy hiking on mountain trails ✔️Cloud watching and enjoying the sea of clouds; if the weather is good, you can look up at the starry sky at night. ✔️You can also change into Baima Tibetan costumes for free to take photos and immerse yourself in the ethnic culture. 🍲You don't have to worry about meals either. The restaurant specializes in local wild vegetables, wild mushrooms, and Baima Tibetan-style cuisine. Most of the ingredients come from the village gardens, and the taste is great—our whole family loved it. 🚙Nearby attractions Head to Wanglang National Nature Reserve to see the primeval forest, and visit Tianmu Lake and Baxijia Ancient Village. It's also a convenient drive to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, making it a great addition to your Jiuzhaigou loop itinerary. 💡A quick tip: The altitude is high and there's a large temperature difference between day and night, so bring a jacket and don't forget sun protection.
